If you are into gardening, homesteading, self reliance, you will find this entire site AMAZING. If you are looking for political allies, you may find it leans a little "left" for your tastes. However, if you are looking to get your hands dirty and learn what self reliance is about, AND you are single or married to someone who is amenable to the terms, this is the time of year when organic farms start looking for interns. The pay generally sucks, the living conditions are generally rustic, but my son did this last summer and it was a really good experience for him.
