The privileged, or the unprivileged?

It is one thing for American Express to do this, but the Federal Government?

TSA Pre✓™ allows select frequent flyers of participating airlines and members of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler programs who are flying on participating airlines, to receive expedited screening benefits during domestic travel. Eligible participants use dedicated screening lanes for screening benefits which include leaving on shoes, light outerwear and belts, as well as leaving laptops and 3-1-1 compliant liquids in carry-on bags.

Learn more about how you can participate and become part of the privileged class.

it is more invasive than you think

You sit down for an interview, get fingerprinted, and get photographed for face recognition. It isn't like they are getting "special treatment" really but they are going through a more intrusive security clearance ahead of time similarly like they go through in Israel. You only have to go through it once I think and it costs about $100 or something like that but Mastercard picks up the tab for frequent fliers.
