Glenn Beck Relaunching The Blaze As Global Libertarian News Network

BuzzFeed: Glenn Beck announced plans Tuesday during his online television program to expand the news operation in his media company, The Blaze, and refocus it as a libertarian network, opening three foreign bureaus, debuting a nightly news magazine show, and relocating his New York staff to showy new offices.

Beck introduced his ambitious plans by standing in front of a split screen with MSNBC's Chris Matthews on one side and Fox News's Sean Hannity on the other, and bemoaning the fact that cable news has devolved into the "far left [and] far right... yelling at each other."

"We're not gonna play in that crazy space as a network," he said, adding, "I consider myself a libertarian... I'm a lot closer to Penn Jillette than I am to Chuck Hagel."

Who?

LOL Isn't he the guy who sang "Rhinestone Cowboy"?

Don't worry guys

Ron Paul is about to lay down a trap card for Glenn Beck. Lew Rockwell has blogged about it. Surprises are coming soon.

So?

What is Glenn Beck does have an irrational hate of Ron Paul? Ron Paul has many published books. Ron Paul has many opportunities to talk to Americans via TV. I personally find it very hard to believe that Glenn Beck has an irrational hate of either Ron Paul or Barack Obama. Even if he did do you think you or I should hate him back?

Lol ok

lets all act like the The Jerk on the blaze on every article about Israel and involvement on the middle east and expose every neo con for the bought and paid for pig they are.

Blue Republicans, populists,

and anti-Semites are furious. They assume that it is THEY who are liberty movement by the virtue of parroting Ron Paul and Alex Jones. Moreover, it is THEY who have discovered the "truth" and can judge others with expert knowledge.

Huh? Glen Beck? Really?

.

NWO shill, I do not ever

NWO shill, I do not ever visit the Blaze. Beck a Libertarian? Gag, cough, choke, puke. If he was a Libertarian, he would have got behind Ron Paul. Plluuutttthhhhh to Glen NWO Beck.

Neocon playbook

Delay, confuse, change the subject, use false actors to demonize your enemy. We see delaying tactics in congress constantly. We now have a guy (Beck) that has proven himself to be a propped up puppet head for the neocons setting out to make libertarians look nutso. Does anyone still think that this is a real transformation into an honest libertarian? I don't. And using false actors to confuse the populace about what a libertarian is allows them to change the subject when any progress is made and thus delay any wise reforms indefinitely.

What

What action or statement from Glenn Beck would be proof enough that he is sincere about his advocacy of libertarianism?

Glenn Beck calling himself libertarian...

is like Justin Bieber calling himself heavy metal.

Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it’s realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy. -Ron Paul 7/10/03

Maybe I'm crazy.. but I'm

Maybe I'm crazy.. but I'm hopeful and this might not be bad?

I listened the other day to him talk to Penn Gillette and Beck didn't seem antagonistic to liberty, he just seemed like he needed some encouragement to, not let go of social issues, he shouldn't let go, but to understand they shouldn't live in political space.

He says himself you may delegate no power to the state you do not have, once you get that you're on the path, and it's hard to go back.

I understand the risk that he mis 'represent' to the world what liberty is who don't already know. This concerns me.

Regardless we can do little about it.

Pro Wall St. Bailout Beck...

...is a libertarian? Jon Stewart jokes insue......

In order for Mormons to enter their temples they have to be interviewed by their bishop. One of the questions they are asked is: "Are you honest in your dealings with your fellow man?"

Painting yourself as a libertarian when you clearly are not is not honest Glenn!

Glenn still loves:
The drug war
Being anti-immigrant
Being an interventionist
Giving US tax dollars to foreign governments
The Federal Reserve

Maybe he's possible of changing. Maybe hanging out with Penn Jillette is rubbing off on him(one could only hope!). But as it stands today, Beck is not a libertarian!

Is Beck a "paid shill" of the NWO? Nah. He's just an opportunist. He's correctly forecasting that neo-conservatism is dying out while libertarianism is going mainstream and is simply jumping on that bandwagon.

I loathe to defend Beck, but

I loathe to defend Beck, but I'd call him lib-curious and those issues he wiggles on.

He's had G. Edward Griffin on multiple times.
He says he's against the drug war in principle, but scared how it would work out in practice.

But yes given he's a mormon he does have an idea of an American divine destiny that informs his foreign policy.

Still.. he has shifted over time. What other neocon can we say this about. So again, since we can't stop him, I suggest we not line up against him as enemies. I think we should express agreement with his followers when Beck is right, so that when he's wrong we have the social capital to open a discourse to educate them.

Beck has only pretended to shift over time ...

Because since his assault on Debra Medina, his numbers have crashed as people wake up to his fakeness. He is a dangerous man with no anchor.

Since Ron is launching his own web show, we should be

prepared to support that, in comparison.

Integrity means having to say things that people don't want to hear & especially to say things that the regime doesnt want to hear -RonPaul

Even Bill Maher thinks he's libertarian

But the good news is, most real libertarians are well educated an can see through the BS. All people like Maher and Beck are going to do is confuse the sheep into what a real Libertarian is. I think it's nothing more than an attempt at a co op. the powers that be are worried cause more and more people are liking libertarianism, so they have to do something about it.

No he say's he used to be a libertarian... He probably wasn't

though.

Yeah no read up libertarians will follow Beck. If people do it'll be his old listeners and maybe we can show them what liberty's really about. Turn it into a positive. :)

It shows where the winds blowing, Becks just jumping a ship cause he knows his one's sinking.

Can we use him?

I'm not afraid of Glenn Beck or his voice in the debate, and if he wants to advocate liberty, so be it.

Can we defend our own ideas if all he wants to do is corrupt them? Is that what he wants, to corrupt? If forgiveness isn't part of the equation, will we ever have a chance? What would it take for you to forgive him, to give him any value or recognize the value he could serve?

Glen Beck has proven himself to be our enemy, even going as far as to call Ron Paul supporters "terrorists", but maybe he's figured out why he was so scared, and it wasn't of us.

It may not be possible. Let me repeat that, IT MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE, but I for one like that he needs to at least pretend, and if he starts explaining liberty, the messenger won't matter; it's the message.

Does Beck

still think Al Qaeda writes Dr. Pauls foreign policy views and speeches? lol

I wouldn't worry about it

Libertarian is becoming trendy and hip. A lot of people are going to put that label on themselves or their program or whatever. Smart people know better.

Yeah, just like Smart people saw through the Tea Party...

What percentage of Americans do you think know what the Ron Paul Tea Party stood for? How many of the current Tea Partiers do you think know who or what views started the group they now call themselves? And the media have no clue at all. They think they are just a bunch of people who dress up like Uncle Sam or a 1776 Patriot and idolize Sarah Palin and Bill O'Reilly.

jrd3820's picture

You are right...

I said the SMART people know better. You gave me examples of stupid people. Does anyone even listen to Glenn Beck anymore?

I spent 2012 campaigning for Ron Paul on college campuses. Not one student I spoke to associated Ron Paul with the current tea party.

I guess I just am not worried about Glenn Beck, that's all.

Then that mean there are very Few smart people

and majority of Americans will associate GB with Libertarianism. Just what he is banking on.

jrd3820's picture

I get that, and I can't argue it

But I guess I just do not see it as a problem. Look at what has been said about libertarianism and the movement and the people since 2004, yet here we are with more supporters than ever, and I think these ideas will keep growing no matter what Glen Beck says or does.

Alex Jones is not the one to ruin the movement, it's Glenn Beck

They are trying to hijack us again, just like they did with Ron Paul's Tea Party. They have to ruin it and turn it into something dirty and nasty and have 3/4 of America laughing and making fun of it.

Glen Beck and Libertarian is

Glen Beck and Libertarian is an oxymoron. They go together like turd and candy bar.

He is a paid shill media whore, and nothing more

He is not what his current audience thinks he is. He has bashed the liberty movement at every turn, while "word walking" all over Paul supporters. No thanks, but I'm not buying. This is somewhat reminiscent of the way Dick Army and Sara Palin became represented as "Tea Party" people. Infiltrate and divide, is the tactic I see. They will do anything and everything to cloud and confuse the issues.
