Nullification via the states is the only way forwardSubmitted by More_Liberty on Wed, 01/09/2013 - 10:21
Let's be honest here, trying to change the direction of the federal government via our various establishment US senators and US representatives is almost a lost cause. I live in Texas, and believe that Senator Cornyn is a establishment crook, and Ted Cruz isn't what he was portraying during the election. My Representative - Kevin Brady - is another big government RINO. He is also a lost cause.
I'm now looking toward the Texas state legislators. I recently just emailed my state rep., and state Senator the following:
I hope that you are paying attention to the national "dialogue" regarding the push to go after our 2nd Amendment rights.
I have two suggestions.
1). Create and pass a bill that nullifies any attempt by the federal government to confiscate our firearms, high capacity magazines, national firearms registry or related databases. Nullification is one way that the state of Texas can take back our rights. Such a law would not allow any Texas resources or law enforcement in assisting the federal government as they attempt to confiscate, register, or arrest individuals that have fire arms or high capacity magazines.
2). If the federal government continues on their anti-constitutional march against individual liberty, the Texas state legislator should consider formally requesting and discussing the possibility of a Constitutional convention with two-thirds of the other state legislators; this is one of two ways of amending the Constitution. Such a process completely circumvents the federal government in the amendment process - as I'm sure you know. This would of course be tricky - and controversial - but it could start a national dialogue regarding the continued abuse of power via the federal government."
