Just

Just Bowie in relections of memories. Something that happens as you get older!
A friend of mine married his cousin from New Zealand. She had different colored eyes too, weird.

if you do not understand Ziggy,

So hologramic, oh my TVC15

Ah the days...

OMG, he's beautiful!

Wow. Thank you for posting that.

Those different colored eyes are a trip. In that picture, her really does look like the Man from Mars.

I wonder if Bowie read Heinlein. Does the Diamond Dog know? DD is obviously a Bowie fan.

BTW, thanks to the Daily Paul for posting about Heinlein.

I read 80% of Stranger in a Strange land, and then suddenly, it felt like a chore to have to continue reading. Something got a little trite for me at around 80%.

It is a haunting photo. Thank you.

But I still wonder if the end is there to fool me. So I do mean to go back and finish, before I forget important details about the book.

After all, I'm only an egg.

David Bowie as Valentine Michael Smith. That is a good one. It is as good as Woody Harelson as Haymitch in the Hunger Games movie. I definitely didn't see that one coming, and it was a trip. Oh you - Woody. Woody is someone I have respect for. He broke out of his stereotype on Taxi. Broke out into his own. Which is what Rand is trying desperately to do: "Judge me by me, not by my dad!" He just wants to scream it so bad that its driving him crazy! I bet.

But he still needs as many former Ron Paul supporters as possible.

Ah, Heinlein has a story called the Man Who Sold the Moon, and Bowie has the song, The Man Who Sold the World, performed here, perhaps more famously among the younger crowd, by Nirvana.

We passed upon the stair, we spoke of was and when
Although I wasn't there, he said I was his friend
Which came as some surprise I spoke into his eyes
I thought you died alone, a long long time ago
Oh no, not me
I never lost control
You're face to face
With The Man Who Sold The World

I laughed and shook hishand, and made my way back home
I searched for form and land, for years and years I roamed
I gazed a gazley stare at all the millions here
We must have died along, a long long time ago

Who knows? not me
We never lost control
You're face to face
With the Man who Sold the World

That's the guy in the mug shot, singing though the instrument, no longer with us, of the guy who shot himself in the mug, and joined "that club, "

All art is only done by the individual. The individual is all you ever have, and all schools only serve to classify their members as failures. E.H.

I got to meet him!

I met Bowie back stage with Robert Smith years ago! They were both great guys and a fun conversation. You know that joke from Wayne's World, where the rock stars like Aerosmith and Alice Cooper, were actually geniuses? Well, it was true with those two. Robert Smith was not affraid of a debate, especially when it came to legalizing drugs.

I have no idea what that song was supposed to be about.

But it made me sad. Good art, nice music. Thanks for sharing.

It is a melancholy tune, isn't it?

He lived in West Berlin back in the 70's. He's reminiscing about those days...

The KaDeWe is a big department store on Tauentzienstraße, in what was (back then) West Berlin.

He did some of his best work. He was young & on top of the world. Imagine all the relationships with people he had. Today, all gone.

Where are we now? One day, Ron Paul supporters will ask the same question.

I like Bowie

but he is a weirdo! He made a song called, I'm afraid of Americans and it looks like a gun control music video. I could be wrong but I was kind of concerned watching that music video.

Bowie has great songs and also has horrible songs. He reminds me of one of those guys that have like 3 GREAT songs on his album and then the rest sucks.

Also, as a kid my favorite movie was the Labyrinth and still watch it today!

And this is coming from a guy who does rap music for a living.

Ashes to ashes - GREAT SONG
Heroes - GREAT SONG
Space Oddity - GREAT SONG
I even liked I'm Afraid Of Americans song. Just the music video disturbed me.

with NSA

i'm afraid of americans is truly prophetic. imagine it playing while showing closeups of clapper, feinstein, king, graham etc etc etc
instead of calling someone who changed the face of music and inspired countless artists who came after him a weirdo, why not do a rap version video of IAOA
with all the people i named and more?

Bowie describes the feelings behind the song:

It's not as truly hostile about Americans as say "Born in the U.S.A.": it's merely sardonic. I was traveling in Java when [its] first McDonald's went up: it was like, "for fuck's sake." The invasion by any homogenised culture is so depressing, the erection of another Disney World in, say, Umbria, Italy, more so. It strangles the indigenous culture and narrows expression of life.[2]

i've always said

he's our sinatra.

not a bad actor either, like frankie.

met him briefly, david not frank.
