Which is more important? The economic problems or gun control?

Don't get me wrong, they are both very important. Along with NDAA and FISA and many others. But, which would you consider more important?

My feeling is that if we loose the second amendment then we have no recourse but to allow anything else the elite push on us. It will not matter if they spend even more of the money we don't have, it won't matter if they raise taxes to 100%, it won't matter if they execute people in the middle of the street! We can do nothing but keep quiet about it, unless we want to be executed also.

Everything else depends on keeping the second amendment, including the "Shall not be infringed" in place! (IMO)

Even a high up military

Even a high up military official recently said that the most dangerous threat to our country is the economic situation. If we continue down this path there is going to be civil war and tremendous loss of life and destruction regardless of the weapons that are available.Like Gerald Celente often says "when the people lose everything and they have nothing left to lose, they lose it".

Economic issue is by far the most dangerous.

They may be able to ban assault rifles or Ar-15s but they will never be able to stop us from getting them or any other guns.Banned guns will just go underground and dealt through the black market which would be even worse for government because they won't know who owns what.So gun issue is really a non-issue compared to the disaster that is coming when we have a currency collapse.

and when an AR15 is 10 times what it's worth now and the dollar collapses which skyrockets the price even further through inflation...which in turn again will make it almost impossible for people to be able to afford it, dangerous to get and extremely scarce as I'm laying out..

What will you do.. share it between 50 Freedom Fighters?

I can see you've thought it out.... kudos.

Who has the power?

"...political power grows out of the barrel of a gun."

Do you want to have political power or do you want the Federal Reserve and its minions of jack-booted thugs to have it all?

It really is that simple.

Ill say

That since I'm not an American and the fact that the economic problems are world wide I'll still say the gun problem. I have some friends and family in the states and its clear that you guys have a "gun culture" if you will. You guys claim it is your right to own a gun since you have the right to own private property, to defend yourselves and to over throw tyrannical government because you guys are truly "free" individuals. I hifinated free because were really not entirety free anymore world wide. Anyways its seems that you guys our one of the last obsticiles to overcome in this world wide ponzi scheme so if they come for your guns then SWHTF

Damned straight

Trick question. Neither! Don't need problems.

Think of all the silly things recently banned in America. Here is a list of 13 w/ color photographs.

Perhaps you might consider banning two more worthless items:

  • Economic Problems (example: End the Fed, now)
  • Gun Control (example: Unalienable rights, 1790)

Thank you for your efforts on these matters.

The 2nd Amendment exists.

The 2nd Amendment exists. No law or executive order can supercede the Constitution. It is up to us to enforce the Constitution and not willingly 'give' away that personal natural right.

Economic problems stem from straying from the Constitution. The same thing happens with 2nd or any other Bill of Right, the Constitution.

Both are equally important. There will be some who focus on 2ndA, others who focus on economic issues, and those who attend to both.

To place precedence of one over the other does not make sense. It is the Bill of Rights, the Constitution that must be defended and enforced, for that is the Law of the Land.

We must live and promote Liberty, and work to win local/state, as the Constitution defines.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

Obama and Congress

already ignore the Constitution. Bush called it "just a d**n piece of paper" and Obama is proving it. Executive orders were supposed to be orders from the president to the troops, not an instrument to have his way with the people. He could just sign an EO that the second amendment is null and void. What could we do? He has already forced an unconstitutional death care bill (also know improperly as a health care bill) on us. He is trying to force Arizona to quit upholding the immigration law.

And I still don't believe he is a legal president.

As much as I disagree with Bush on most everything, I researched and could not find where he actually said that. If you have a solid reference, I would LOVE to see it.

You are correct mbennett

and I apologise for continuing what maybe a falsehood.

from The Montana Standard

Recently, a contributor made the statement that President George W. Bush said that “The Constitution is just a damn piece of paper.” If the contributor had done his homework, he would have found that this accusatory statement was made by a liberal political website called Capitol Hill Blue. Capitol Hill Blue later recanted their story by saying “This article was based on sources that we thought, at the time, were reliable. We have since discovered reasons to doubt their veracity. For that reason, this article has been removed.”

However, it seems to fit what they have been doing! :-)

The economics matter more. However, that is what brought me this way to begin with.

“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living.”

No one is coming to take your

No one is coming to take your guns.

Seriously. For the past 20 years that is all the NRA and the GOA have been screaming about. "They are coming to take your guns!" It is a means of getting elected, that is all. Hell, Obama is one of the most gun-friendly presidents we have ever had (since he hasn't done anything about Sandy Hook yet).

But the economic problems are actual problems.

Except that Iowa and NY are

Except that Iowa and NY are both planning on confiscation . .. so yeah, they are coming for the guns.

My opinion

is that the gun issue is more important right now. The financial issue will take years and years to fix. The gun ban will happen with the stroke of a pen.

The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion.
-Thomas Paine

Ron Paul's #1 issue is NOT guns.

It's the Fed.

We've had our gun rights since 1913 and that hasn't prevented the assault on our other rights by the Fed.

Ron Paul

Ron Paul calls the 2nd amendment the one right that guarantees all others.

Guns and the fed aren't mutually exclusive issues. Between the two, the gun issue is of secondary importance *until they come for the guns*. Then the gun issue trumps economic issues. It's one thing to be swindled, and the swindling ought to be resisted and exposed. But when you lose the ability to defend yourself, they don't even need to swindle you...you just do what you're told, or else.

How many gun enthusiasts

still accept FRNs without question?

Right. And...

Right. And what if we do all this work to educate people about FRNs, and then it doesn't matter once the tipping point is achieved, because everyone's been disarmed and they have to do what they're told no matter how well they understand money issues?

Stop dividing people

There are more than enough people to take on both issues. With 300M people and about 250M asleep, we actually need more numbers of issues to wake up more people.

It's not going to take everyone to take down the banks. It will only take the right few. Same with the gun laws. I say, keep 'em both at top priority.

Just to play devils advocate here.

We have guns now and it isn't stopping a thing you just mentioned so it seems the right to bear arms is no so important after all. The second amendment is a pacifier to make people think they have something that they don't. Just like the first amendment.

To a degree

I agree with you. However, without the guns, I think it would be and will be much much worse. Currently they have some fear of blow back, without the people having guns they will have no fear. Rocks and clubs against the modern military or police just won't work!

The problem is military spending.

Build up the military and you thereby make the militia obsolete.

The Fed feeds the military.

End The Fed FIRST.

I understand

But AR15s and 9mms don't work against the modern military or police either when they just kill you with a drone strikes or drive tanks into your house.

Before everyone gets pissed let me remind you that I am only playing devils advocate here.

Haven't you...

Haven't you been paying attention over the past 50 years? The Vietnamese kicked our butts. The Afghans kicked our butts. It is called asymmetric warfare and as long as we can snipe at passing police cars, politicians, military patrols etc. we will win and they know it. Why do you think they want us to be disarmed? For the Children? Ya, right.

You have no idea what the 2nd Amendment and guns may have stopped. We haven't stopped the current behavior, because we have not decided to do it!

there is no knowing what guns MAY have stopped. Or IF they have stopped anything. :-) We know they didn't stop the northern centralized government from trampling the constitution and taking over the whole country in 1861. And how much more ineffective will they be against our modern military.

Do you mean...

Do you mean our "modern military" that got whooped by several fourth rate guerrilla armies in the past 50 years?

lindalsalisbury's picture

Again Unknowable

The revolt won't be like 1861, indeed there will be no dividing line. It's not like you could divide the revolt at the Mason-Dixon Line or the Mississippi River. No, this will be Syrian type warfare, and not enough people left to pay their taxes to support them, or their wars.

A bloody horrific nightmare!!!!!

If only we had the weapons

that the Syrian "rebels" had then that would be a whole different ball game. They have been armed with surface to air missiles and rocket launchers and such. Surely you don't think the Syrian rebels have accomplished what they have with only assault rifles.

In the end I think it will be determined by who the military supports, those who follow the constitution or the NWO crowd.
