Front Page Drudge: Hitler and Stalin Picture With Threat of Gun Ban - Obama Considering Executive Order to Deal With Guns

AJ changed the dialog

Headline links to this YouTube video and this story at the Weekly Standard: Biden: Obama Considering 'Executive Order' to Deal With Guns

http://youtu.be/aNjxzFgKcHY

"The president is going to act," said Biden, giving some comments to the press before a meeting with victims of gun violence. "There are executives orders, there's executive action that can be taken. We haven't decided what that is yet. But we're compiling it all with the help of the attorney general and the rest of the cabinet members as well as legislative action that we believe is required."

Biden said that this is a moral issue and that "it's critically important that we act."

I respect your passion, but you're wrong

God DAMN Alex Jones for his antics.

This is a situation where Jones needs to shut up and let the adults handle the debate. He is making the likes of Piers Morgan look CREDIBLE and MATURE by comparison.

Maybe he makes you cheer, but you have to pay attention to what his nonsense does to the average citizen who isn't informed: it TURNS THEM OFF. If Alex Jones isn't an inside job, the powers that be couldn't have asked for a happier accident.

it might turn some off

it might also get some off the fence.
the wwf has an audience after all.
to blame a shock jock for being shocking is absurd.
he just forced a lot of people to pick a side.

The Truth Is...

... Steve Dulan, Larry Pratt and even Jesse Ventura did WAY better then Alex Jones. He was the worst out of all of them... I don;t know why he is getting so much praise from us here.

I liked them all

They each had their own place and did a good job.

Well said

Now, watch the Jonesian Kool Aid Brigade bury your comment.

Passion and volume don't always equal results. And if they do have an impact, in this case it's negative. Jones needs to shut up and let the adults handle this.

Maybe He Did...

... but when it comes to Gun control and this debate he did a very lousy job and made himself look like a fool. Especially compared to how the others handled it.

How does this have anything to do with AJ...?

The gun control debate has been going on for a long time, especially since the Newtown shooting. Drudge has always been anti-gun control.

“It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till." -J.R.R. Tolkien

go back and reread Hunger Games

I think you missed the main idea. It isn't about a bunch of kids killing each other in an arena. It's about a despotic government who controls all the guns and weapons. It's about a centralized government that has enslaved an entire population. It's about revolution and how one person can make a difference.

Governments who take the guns always control the population with tyrannical force.

Before Alex, the conversation was, "why do hunters need an assault rifle?"

Now it's 'we need the assault rifle to protect us from the likes of Stalin and Mao and Hitler"

Alex did that with this viral interview. Give the man his due.

"Before Alex"????

... Peirs Morgan has been debating these guys for awhile and most of them did way better then Alex. The reason Alex Jones' interview went so viral is because he was disrespectful and made himself out to look like a fool.

Which slapped a lot of people out of their dreamy state

if Alex just went on there and did a nothing special interview. No one would have paid attention except for those who already are paying attention.

Alex didn't start the conversation. He started the fire.

Just because you dislike him is no reason to deny this. Be intellectually honest.

I know what the Hunger Games is about...

But people have been saying these things about guns needed to protect us from tyrannical governments long before AJ was on Piers Morgan. I doubt it all stemmed from AJ's interview.

“It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till." -J.R.R. Tolkien

Well duh

But Alex's viral rant brought it to the attention of sleepy Americans
Yes the argument existed before. The argument existed at the birth of our country. But people in their stupor have not listened, not understood or have forgotten

Alex was the catalyst to get this back in the conversation.

Now it is about,

Goverments that take guns from citizens are tyrants. That's what the 2nd amendment is for, to protect your liberties including your 1st amendment.

It has been about that

Since before AJ was on CNN.

“It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till." -J.R.R. Tolkien

ABOUT OUR DIS-RESPECTED PRESIDENT

Arrogance always underestimates response.

James

Yes, he has.

We need our Alex Jones' as much as we need our Jesse Ventura's, our Walter Block's, our Ron Paul's. Someone doesn't think AJ will appeal to the delicate? Too bad, this needed to be done. And it will bear fruit.

The question whether bombastic behavior works has been answered.

The answer is yes.

It has been answered, but not by you.

As someone who studies this for a living, I can tell you that Jones was counterproductive. For everyone person he "woke up," he turned off THOUSANDS. The people cheering for him are his choir. They didn't need waking up. They're already awake.

Jones, whether he intends to be or not, is a tool of the enemy. He makes the likes of Piers Morgan look calm, reasonable, and mature by comparison. And that's awful.

SteveMT's picture

True that Jones does make Morgan look calm,....

but the message is more important than the messenger. If the text of this interview was read by itself or the interview had occurred on the radio rather than on t.v., it would have been better.

I wrote this impression at the time of the Morgan/Jones interview:

A very calm-appearing, bare-faced liar versus an outwardly appearing lunatic who is telling the absolute truth.
http://www.dailypaul.com/268952/live-stream-alex-jones-on-pi...

and this:

Like it or not, Alex Jones has now become the de facto leader of the Liberty Movement. He was thrust into that position by the likes of none other than Piers Morgan. Go figure the odds of that.

The MSM, GOP, and our government are not only morally bankrupt, they are also financially bankrupt. As long as their ratings are in the toilet, the MSM will continue to have Alex Jones as a guest on these programs. No one is watching television news any longer; they need WWF-style reality programs, i.e. an Alex Jones and Piers Morgan weekly "discussion" show. How about that possibility? Alex has his bully-pulpit in the form of his radio/internet show to continually prod and berate them (and us) with the brutal truth. His bombastic behavior is turning a lot of heads, but whether this is actually good for Liberty remains to be seen. He's getting people to think for themselves, albeit with a sledgehammer, so that cannot be bad for starters. How this scenario ends is the question?
http://www.dailypaul.com/269082/alex-jones-lifetime-ban-from...

Agree that Alex's lack of aplomb could derail the Liberty train.

Yep

Had this exchange on FB a minute ago.

"Where were you Alex Jones people when I was a libertarian fighting George Bush's election? Where were you Alex Jones people when the founder of the liberty dollar was arrested?..."

Ummm, I WAS ASLEEP! I never heard of Ron Paul! I never heard of a Libertarian! What the heck is a liberty dollar, and why does matter? Now I know - now I know who Ron Paul is, what a libertarian is, and about Bernard von NotHaus. All because I caught an article from PrisonPlanet, and went on down the Rabbit hole.

Regulations Against Jews' Possession of Weapons

From Wikipedia:

On November 11, 1938, the Minister of the Interior, Wilhelm Frick, passed Regulations Against Jews' Possession of Weapons. This regulation effectively deprived all Jews of the right to possess firearms or other weapons.

this is pretty cool, I'm glad Drudge is making this connection and thanks to AJ for having the courage to bring this to the mainstream...

Wow- that is pretty much as clear as it gets
