The Precious Metal Purchasing Act: A Bill to Register Buyers of Silver and Gold Coins & Eliminate Cash Transactions

Provides that a person who is in the business of purchasing precious metal shall obtain a proof of ownership, create a record of the sale, and verify the identity of the seller. Provides that a person who is in the business of purchasing precious metal shall not pay for the precious metal in cash and shall record the method of payment. Requires the purchaser to keep a record of the sale for one year or, if the purchase amount is over $500, for 5 years. Provides that a person who violates the Act is guilty of a petty offense and subject to a fine not exceeding $500. Provides that the Attorney General may inspect records, investigate an alleged violation, and take action to collect civil penalties."

in legislation these days. They had an anti cash bill in Louisiana last year. Said it was to deter crime. Right.

The bill is prima facie evidence of intent to subvert constitutionally guaranteed rights which this public servant is sworn to uphold. Of course... this is all completely LEGAL:

If you were a delegate to the
If you were a delegate to the State Convention and a registered Republican in his district, you are the one to act in your local area. It is not what "we" on the Daily Paul can do, it is what you and people in your district and state can do, that will make the most impact.
Get together with a few MATURE, THOUGHTful and trusted liberty people who you know in person (not people you only know over the internet) and work up a letter writing effort to the State Senator. Base your argument on things that he himself claims to care about. Convince him that he's violating his own stated principles and those of the party.
It is good to follow it up by circulating a petition with hundreds of voter's signatures against this bill, and then delivering it to his office with a crowd of demonstrators with you. Invite someone from the press and have someone shoot a video of the event including you giving the State Senator the petition.
Follow up with another petition to the State Capitol and letter writing to other legislators, especially Republicans, until he withdraws this bill. Don't let up until he publicly agrees that it's a bad idea.

I am a 2nd shift custodian in my hometown public school system; I have two other jobs as well; I am recently divorced, I have 5 children - I have my principles, I have made my mistakes while being ignorant of "the system", I have been crushed by "the system", I want to make good on my debts, I want to set an example for my children, I want to LEAD in the change back to statesmanship, I want to ALERT the still sleeping, I want to get more people to HATE the cronyism and fight against it, I want to RESTORE what citizens used to EXPECT from their lawmakers...I don't know when i'll draw my last breath, but dammit, I need to do SOMETHING while I can!!!
I ain't much, but I do get it...and IF nobody else wants to stand up and be the Ron Paul Republican needed to challenge this seat, I am raising my hand....but I need a TEAM, and that is the "we"....

I grew up in these wealthy suburbs of Chicago, I have their values....but....Springfield is a cess pool of dirty politics and FEAR dominates there....so...I say we run a no fear campaign based on Ron Paul's principles of Statesmanship and COURAGE....

Kirk W. Dillard is a member of the Illinois STATE Senate, and the Bill was introduced there. It is not a federal bill. Here is the full text on the website of the Illinois General Assembly.
Not saying that this bill isn't still very noteworthy - just want to make sure people are clear on this. Please consider adding this clarification to the OP.
I will add that Dillard, a Republican, served in the Illinois Senate with Obama and is an "unabashed admirer", and he and has even campaigned for him.
He was a hair away from being the Republican candidate for Illinois Governor in 2010. He only lost the primary by 0.02% to Bill Bradey.
Also...
If you look at the actual bill and read the date that it was introduced by Dillard, it was 2/7/2012... almost a year ago.
