make it stop, make it stop!

It makes me cringe listening to this statist, O'Reilly. uggghhh.

I'm sure it's been clearly pointed out

TIME AND AGAIN, that Fox "news" is government bullshit propaganda. It doesn't matter which side of an 'argument' they may fall on, they're still trying to program people's way of thinking, cause division, and further weaken this country.

Bill O'Reilly vs. John Stossel on Gun Control

Who cares what O'Reilly thinks?

The Judge

what I noticed about this

what I noticed about this interview was the scroll at the bottom of the page saying Israel will build 6000 homes in Palestinian territory. You know just steal more land, bulldoze more houses..kill more people. No biggie

John 8:32

Stossel sucks

He is a terrible libertarian spokesman. I stopped watching him after an episode that attacked homeless people for being lazy, for which he got praised by crazy Coulter. Homeless people that beg do not violate any libertarian principles, Stossel.

The show was about how nice it is to be poor in America

Poor people here have TV's, air conditioners, and relatively nicer lives than middle class people in other countries.

He also showed us that it's not a good idea to give to the "homeless" because they probably are just too lazy to get a job. He's just showing people that the pitiful people on the corners don't deserve pity at all.

Way to focus on that issue while ignoring all the awesome stuff Stossel does.

He has introduced millions of middle/high schoolers to Libertarian thoughts through Stossel in the Classroom.

Stossel

Is who "woke me up" so to say. I grew up listening to my Dad talk about Ron Paul and go on about people like Alex Jones. I have more respect for my Dad than anyone in the world, and I do not mind Alex Jones but I do not love him.

However, like most daughters I rebelled against my Dad's political thoughts for a while. One night I saw a Stossel special report on something or other and I can not even remember what, but I thought.... wow.... he makes sense.

You are right, Stossel does some amazing stuff, and some people just like the people who hate on Jones are going to have to get over their ideas of how someone who "represents liberty" says something. Stossel, like Jones has his own way of being effective.

well, good to hear he did something right

because he doesn't seem to do very well in arguments with that tool O'Reilly

Yeah

But O'Reily is like Morgan, they talk over anyone they try to interview anyways. I was a liberal for a while and I would turn on anything to see Stossel, he appeals to a certain viewing audience.

ME TOO!!!

I first heard Libertarian ideas from John Stossel in my high school Government class. Our teacher showed us his video on eminent domain and he was unlike any other reporter I had ever heard.

He also writes awesome books. He completely flipped my mind on several issues in Myths Lies and Downright Stupidity, Why Everything You Know is Wrong.

John Stossel is one of a kind, I never miss is show. He's on tonight on Fox Business at 8 central.

You heard stossel in school!?!?!

That's amazing. I worked as a tutor for at risk youth for a while (one of my favorite jobs ever!), and I used to sneak in little clips of Stossel and Ron Paul into a lesson whenever I could! I like to think I helped open some eyes, just like someone helped open yours!

Yup, I watch Stossel almost every time he is on somewhere. The guy just plain makes sense.

And Milton Friedman!

from the same teacher.

She showed us Stossel in the Classroom often and she showed us one of the Free To Choose videos in my Economics class.

One of the best teacher I've ever had.

I should send her flowers to the school or something, I definitely owe her a big thank you.

Send her a card or something

If you think about it. I had one of my old students send me a card saying he got into college because of the time I spent with him teaching him to read. He was in 10th grade when I worked with him, but reading at a 7th grade level. I worked with him for a year and had him at college level reading! It was nice to hear that from him. In this forum teachers are not always popular, but when you have a good one that changed your life.... well.... let them know. The boy I just told you about is studying poli sci at a private college and is really interested in Ron Paul and the libertarian message.

That's awesome!!

Nice work JRD! Well done

I'll definitely do something nice for her.

Stossel acted way too lame in this interview.

The very subdued Stossel must have gotten some pre-marching orders to not upstage O'Reilly, IMO. This is surprising to see with such an outspoken defender of the Constitution.

A federal database doesn't

A federal database doesn't sound like liberty to me

Who needs Piers Morgan?

when there is Bill O'Reilly.

Why didn't Stossel retort when O'Reilly said it wasn't true that

Britain had an increase in crime...O'Reilly thot he meant murders, but Stossel meant overall violent crime...and he didn't retort! what the heck

I wondered the same thing

Where is the Real Stossel and what have you done with him?

Stossel 'VS' O'Snearly, Really?

Stossel does not recognize the utter necessity of military equivalent firearms to defend against tyranny in government?

Stossel promotes 'laws' to prevent 'dangerous felons' and 'mentally ill' from buying guns. First, from where does that infringement authority derive, constitutionally? Second, who is it that determines a 'dangerous felon and what 'mentally ill' means? So many things are classed as 'felonies' and so may deemed 'mental' that perhaps a militia member, a prepper, a conspiracist, a liberty advocate, will be deemed mentally ill, eh?

Stossel says it makes sense that people do not 'need' AR15s, as if 'need' is a determining factor at all, let alone as a government measure of allowance.

Stossel sees a federal government registration of 'assault weapons as making sense?

It seems to me that what I saw was two elites, discussing the extent to which is fine for the state to infringe on that which is enumerated to be non-infringeable.

Nothing 'vs' or adversarial about it.

Pathetic and one should take note that Stossel's positions are frequently portrayed in the MSM as being representative of what a Libertarian' is.

No thanks, I will just remain an individualist and a constitutionalist.

Pathetic.

We are never going to have "military equivalent firearms"

Sure you may have a gun that looks like an M-16 but your M&P AR clone holds no weights against tanks and hellfire missiles. The people at Waco had LOTS of guns and you can't stand up to an armed division with any product made by Ruger or Glock. It's fantasy to ever think that a armed rebellion would ever be successful ever again and it hurts our cause when we keep threatening it. You have a shoulder mounted grenade launcher in your basement to take down helicopters delivering strafing fire your your "Red Dawn" squad? This comes from someone who own several semi-automatic firearms, but I'm too cheap to pay 1,200 dollars for a "assault weapon" range toy. And no I'm not giving my guns up and nor an I being finger printed. I'm righting my Congressman, I'm reaching out peacefully to moderates, I'm doing my best to spread the message of a peaceful, prosperous Liberty.

I am in no way making a gun control argument but THEY WANT YOU RILED UP. They want you "fighting mad" because the fist time one of us does something stupid with a firearm in the name of "Liberty" it's all over. They are looking for an excuse to crack down hard, please don't give them one. Red Dawn was a MOVIE and it should stay that way.

Our Revolution must be one of the mind. The "Hippie" generation changed our country without ever firing another shot, unfortunately they got bought off and those saying "fight the man" 50 years ago are not getting paid off by "the man". RP has spoke against armed revolution numerous times because he know the time for it is passed.

Ron Paul Revolution: THE GREAT AWAKENING - http://ronpaulflix.com/2012/03/grassroots-video-ron-paul-rev...

Well, Since....

...I said firearms and not tanks, hellfire missiles, fighter jets, Apache Attack Helicopters or any other such 'weapons/weapons platforms', I guess my point is valid as written.

Also, before you go off on another tangent about full-auto vs an AR platform, allow me to advise you that having been in the military, I am fully aware of the differences, strengths and weaknesses of each.

Now, back to my point.

'Military equivalent' firearms was being used in the general sense of something comparable to the shoulder weapon carried by troops.

Don't know about any firearms that you have (if you have anything at all except a Ruger 10-22, some such plinker, or a bb gun), but AR platforms (both 5.56 and 7.62), others such as SIG 556 platform, M14s and M1 Garands, M1A1s ect, in the hands of a dedicated trained man, well, it seems as if you perhaps are speaking from either ignorance, or perhaps from a more deliberate perspective that discourages the very concept of 'Liberty's Teeth'.

Who knows and who cares.

Next, aside from your deliberately phrased demonization, e.g., 'basements and Red Dawn Squads', your attempt to link me to 'our cause' is off-base. My cause and your cause are likely very different, as evidenced by you pathetic 'peace & love' approach and your defeatist commentary.

Finally, Nothing I said was a threat, nor a call for armed revolution. I merely am pointing out that there are men (certainly excluding you) that will not continence being disarmed.

YOU may find that statement and concept threatening and I am certain that elements of the government find that statement and concept to be threatening, but it is not a threat, simply a statement of fact that should also serve as a warning, much like a rattlesnake warns that danger is close.

Warning of defense against unconstitutional government confiscation or other similar action is not calling for a revolution.

As for your comment reference 'they' looking for someone to do something, providing an excuse to 'take it all', well, you have already demonstrated that you have not grasped the purpose of Liberty's Teeth' and the mindset and resolve of the men who do.

If that dread day ever arrives, and I pray that it never does, then please stand aside and let those who will, with grim resolve, get down to the business of protecting all of our liberty.

Anything else, defeatist hippie-fudd?

Bingo!

Bingo!

Well at the very least

this 2nd amendment debate is separating the fake conservatives from the real. Orielly has always been a neocon. His respect for career politician shows how much of an establishment goon he is.

This guy

O'Reilly is supposed to be a "conservative"?

yeah because the police and the FBI should always be trusted.

"Once you become knowledgeable, you have an obligation to do something about it."- Ron Paul

Please...

don't confuse "conservative" with "NeoCon"...
I watched the video until O'Really spewed something about "we need a federal law..." BARF!

Then I remembered this video.

When Fascism goes to sleep, it checks under the bed for Ron Paul!

NOT OK with the FBI

Putting aside the admittedly technical (and possibly too pedantic to be pointing it out) fact that the FBI has no Constitutional writ to register gun-owners, I'm still disinclined to trust them for as long as they fail to discipline AND PROSECUTE serial mass-murderers like Lon Horiuchi and Larry Smith. And even if they do, there's still that niggling point about that "goddamned piece of paper."

O'Reilly, like many that I've

O'Reilly, like many that I've actually talked to, agree banning semi-auto rifles won't work! But then they say, but we need to stop these rifles anyway. What? You mean you know its not going to work but you're still pushing it through anyway?? So you admit there is a different agenda? Argh!

Also, O'Reilly is more

Also, O'Reilly is more dangerous to gun rights than Feinstein. There will always be the anti-gunners in the Feinstein circle who just don't understand the right to protect yourself. Its people like Bill O'Reilly who talk supposed small government Republicans into a little compromise. "Just register this gun, or only turn in that type of gun." He is what gives the gun grabbers the majority vote they need! He will have created the necessary support for the Feinstein bill.

O'Reilly really does like to "register" people doesn't he? For a small government talking head he loves to increase federal databases huh? Humans born in Mexico, Americans who read the bill of rights. Scary stuff. To pretend its just going to stop here is naive.
