Rand Paul mideast tour fuels talk for 2016 White House run

GOLAN HEIGHTS, Israel — Sen. Rand Paul doesn’t explicitly deny his eight-day visit to the Holy Land represents the launch of a 2016 Republican presidential nomination run.

“I consider it as more an effort to become part of an international stage,” the freshman Kentucky Republican said.

“This trip to meet with Israelis, Arabs and Palestinians is absolutely the first step in his 2016 White House campaign,” said David Lane, evangelical political organizer and president of the Los Angeles-based Pastors and Pews.

RAND PAUL 2016

Take it somewhere else please

I've said it before, let me make it explicit again.

This is not going to be the home base of Rand Paul 2016, the way it was for Ron Paul 2008 and 2012.

I want to make that plenty clear early on so no one is disappointed, and so that anyone who wants to go take on that role can get started early.

Repeat: The Daily Paul is not going to be Rand Paul 2016 Central. There will be news of course - fine. But there will be no moneybombs, no rah-rah Rand is the only way to go, no protecting Rand from dissenting opinions the way his father was protected here.

If that disappoints anyone, take that disappointment and turn it into something productive: Your own Rand Paul site.

Thank you.
