What Makes a Morgan Horse So Special?


Daniel Morgan received 500 lashes from a British soldier and went on to become a captain under Washington in the Revolutionary War:


Of all the coins ever produced by the U.S. Mint, there is one series of coins that is considered The King of Coins, and that series is the Morgan Silver Dollar.


Morgan/Morcant is formed from "mor", meaning "sea", and "cant", meaning circle. Sea defender, warrior, or chief are likely translations.
