1935: Amelia Earhart I the first woman to fly solo from Hawaii to California

1949: first recorded case of snowfall in Los Angeles, California

1964: United States Surgeon General Dr Luther Leonidas Terry M.D., publishes a report saying that smoking may be hazardous to your health. It is the first such statement ever made by the US Government.

Winter 2004, first time of a measurable snow fall in Brownsville, Texas. (December 24th though). Hard to imagine snow in LA.
