This is news,

but it is not new. This has been known for some time.

Rand Paul 2016 !

We have the 2014 elections to

We have the 2014 elections to worry about first. But if Rand does run, I do think he needs to announce early as possible. I would say the first part of 2015. Once he officially throws his hat in the ring, he can take donations, and we can organize throughout the country...possibly getting a better jump on things.

I Don't Know About You...

... but I am already preparing for 2016. The earlier the better.

Probably won't vote for him

We are not going to win a big battle, be it a 1776 2.0, or President Paul, and have a new day.

This federal system that we currently have is a ponzi scheme that will collapse, and will remain hopelessly corrupt until it does.

We need to form stronger local political societies, and bring more influence to bear on state governments.

If we did elect national politicians they'd almost be political nihilists. Dr. No if you will.

The Presidency is no place for that.

You know who would be a good President? Paul Ryan. He's an establishment prick through and through, but somewhat sane with decent and vanilla family values.

Still, I think Rand SHOULD run for President. But by dangit, if he sells out his opinion to win then he WILL HAVE LOST.

God Bless You...

... but I and many others will. :D

Paul Ryan would be a good

Paul Ryan would be a good President?

I won't vote for Paul Ryan under any circumstances. And he would not be a good president. He would be the 'right' president.

The Presidency is an inherently corrupt institution. And I'm thinking more strategically.

A sell out Rand Paul presidency would take all the steam out of liberty and set the movement back long enough for the drones, the self-driving cars, the total technological state to fully set in.

Oh, hell no.

Haha. I think Tman may be a

Haha. I think Tman may be a little confused tonight. I mean, he says he probably wouldn't vote for Rand, then says Paul Ryan would be a good President, then says Rand should run. He may be having a rough night.

Still, Paul Ryan would be a good President has got to be one of the silliest things I've ever read from a DPer.

The Presidency is the LAST institution that can save liberty

in America.

To get there, you have to sell out your soul. And even if the golden man took the throne, would executive orders be the best way to spread liberty?

Paul Ryan would be a 'good president' because he wouldn't be a leftist tool like Obama, and he wouldn't be an apathetic flip flopping Romney. He would be your average sell-out politician, but with a youthful mind, a sense of the budget, and perhaps a willingness to support liberty IF it was popular in other corners.

Rand Paul should RUN for President so he can raise awareness for liberty. And great if he wins, BUT HE WON'T.

And that would be a disaster for him!!!

Ron Paul was a great rally point, and his run for Presidency brought us together. But THAT was the point, not this obscure possibility of winning the Presidency through tricks and so forth.

If Rand runs with Ron's policies, I would vote for him. But, despite being refreshingly different than anyone else, I really don't think he'll be nearly 'good enough'.

Why am I criticized, my comment downvoted to oblivion? I don't think you actually read and understood what I am saying. Please do so DPers or you might just be suckers for the Rand Paul trap.

Paul Ryan would not be a good

Paul Ryan would not be a good President. That is ridiculous! He's not even a good Congressman. He's as much of a lefty as Obama is. He voted for Bush and Obama's bailouts. He votes for unbalanced budgets. His own budget is nothing but a farce, trumpeted up by Republicans as much needed cuts and trashed by Democrats as scary; yet the budget does nothing and cuts nothing. He's as bad as Obama or Romney.

Somehow I just don't feel all

Somehow I just don't feel all that excited about it. Not nearly as excited as compared to Ron Paul.

I don't think Ron Paul's legion of support is the sort of thing that is inheritable.

I could get excited about an announcement from Judge Andrew Napolitano, though. Rand Paul as his VP would make that announcement even better.

Probably because that's 3

Probably because that's 3 years away and we have 2014 elections to worry about first.

I don't see any sources...

Where did he say it? When did he say it?

Eric Bolling...

... says he has sources that say Rand has decided.

He says he has sources, but if he's not showing them why should I believe him?

Anybody got the scoop?

No, I am not the biggest "Rand fan" ever, but I still would rather see him as President than Hillary. If a "liberty candidate" is to have a prayer, they need every day of campaigning they can get. Deciding now would give the grassroots a real chance at getting into position.
