Aside from a couple of his stances and a couple major PR blunders, I really like what I've seen from Rand in his Senate votes and his Senate maneuvers and speeches. I think he will do a great job, and will support him so long as he stays true to the mission.

what about iowa?

Dont we control the party there?

Pipe dream.

And if he were elected then know he will do everything asked of him by the elite.

Even then its a waste of time even talking about it seeing the fact that there won't even be an election in 2016.

I like the Rand for Prez talk, yet..

..this doesn't look very official to me.

In fact, it doesn't say if Rand actually said this or if someone simply believes it and posted their belief as a "Breaking News Alert!".

This might be an ignorant question yet, is "source:" reporter-speak?
I understand "source" to be the origin of something, not a title.

Sorry to be a skeptic, yet I can't parade something I am uncertain about.

I could invent some reasons, however, I don't see a great reason why Rand would make this kind of announcement years beforehand. ..maybe current gop dealings would tilt in his favor?

Until someone has something more than a tweet, I remain skeptical.

He will be different than Ron Paul, but it would be awesome to

have him as President.

2016 is a long way off, a lot

2016 is a long way off, a lot can happen in the meantime. Take a breather everyone, this is really nothing to get all excited about for the time being.

I guess

That is why he sold out to Romney and endorsed him. I just think all this stuff is too late. Tyranny is coming to a streets near you. Yes.. before 2016.

Michael Nystrom's picture

To all you Rand supporters

I know the above sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard, this persistent "He sold out and endorsed Romney" meme.

Don't take it personally. It is important information. It cannot be ignored, the ways Romney's campaign ignored us. That is the wrong choice. It must somehow be healed, or it will grow like a poison.

But if you take it personally, your blood pressure will rise, and that is not good for your health. Just laugh at it. Say - ha ha ha. What interesting data coming out of this Reality Tunnel.

Without the emotional attachment, you can go about examining it for its veracity and remedy.

My 2 cents.

All art is only done by the individual. The individual is all you ever have, and all schools only serve to classify their members as failures. E.H.

Great advice

I was upset over Rand's endorsement of Romney too, but I think it's time to get past it. After all he does want to get a full audit of the FED and that is what all of us want.

Gold standard: because man can not be trusted to control his greed

I've been a big fan of Ron Paul...

for a long time.

But the big thing I disagree with him on is audit the FED. Probably less than 10% of the population would be capable of analyzing the meaning of such a wonky report.

The average American has no clue as to the meaning of $1 billion versus $1 trillion and they would be unable to comprehend that there is anything wrong with sending $trillion's of dollar overseas to foreign banks.

The people who already understand such things would understand such things and the people that don't currently understand would continue to not understand it or even care.

It would be a big yawn.

Don't have my mind made up yet

How possibly on earth could I? Simply on the basis of who his dad is? Go jump in the lake. That stands against the core principle that we're all individuals.

So many people have already staked their ground - pro and con. What is the hurry?

It reminds me of the 2008 RNC, when John McCain announced Sarah Palin. Everyone was running completely start struck. "I like her, do you like her? I like her. Do you like her?"

How on earth should I know at the moment?

But I saw the palpable excitement. It rippled through everyone. What he did was a politcial GAME CHANGER, but at the same time a political hail mary. Everyone loves the hail mary. This is what his hail mary was about: "I'll trade you your first black president for your first female vice president..."

It worked for about 24 hours.

So anyway, I'll wait and watch and see. And it'll be fun.

There are some spectacular plays and drama in politics.

All art is only done by the individual. The individual is all you ever have, and all schools only serve to classify their members as failures. E.H.

Good advise, no need to take sides but scrutinise together?

Sounds like a plan.

Even if he's not the best for liberty I can't see the party shutting him out or him shutting liberty out. He could be a way for you guys (I'm British) to become the party, either way. Good or bad, win or loose...

" And it'll be fun."

yes it will.

I don't know who I will support at this point. I will just continue to try and make people think instead of accepting what they are told.

I don't currently have a passion for Rand. I find him a bit condescending and I definitely feel he is playing a game rather than just being himself. That said, he doesn't need to cater to me to win. He does need to first convince his party to go in his general direction and then convince Independents he is for real.

Let the games begin!

The path to liberty is NOT through the Presidency

Rand Paul may, MAY, be an exciting rallying point for the liberty message.

But he might just be a sell out.

Winning the Presidency will not save us.

We will save ourselves. Liberty is defended from the ground up, not the top down.

If we save our energy, money, and excitement for the Presidential Playoff Season, then we are being played very well by the system. We deserve the system, the two parties, and so forth.

I will support Rand Paul, root for him against other guys, but if he sells out I won't be sending him money. Not so he can sell my goddamned name and address to Mitch McFokking Maconnel.

I don't demand purity, but the line for me is: does Rand fundamentally oppose the system and seek to dismantle it (even if conservatively), or will he support the system so long as it is reformed from within to be 'better'?

And the fact is, if he acts against the system HE WILL NOT WIN!!!

So think about that.

You got that right!

He needs to pick up exactly where his father left off. We need to demand from him that he "ends the fed" and dismantles the "irs" and other unconstitutional institutions that have brought this country to its knees.

I will bet you this

From now till 2016, Rand will not talk about the Fed. I hope I am wrong.

“With laws shall our land be built up, but with lawlessness laid waste.”
-Njal Thorgeirsson

Rand will push phony Audit

But that's it. Guarantee.

Michael Nystrom's picture

Just remember one thing

It all remains to be seen.

And if he does, everyone will say, "He did it for the sake of the Presidency."

So the question is - does the ends justify the means. And really, that is only a question that Rand can answer. But if the answer is yes, it is not a good sign.

All art is only done by the individual. The individual is all you ever have, and all schools only serve to classify their members as failures. E.H.

I prefer the ole voluntaryism maxim

"If one takes care of the means, the ends take care of themselves."

“With laws shall our land be built up, but with lawlessness laid waste.”
-Njal Thorgeirsson

Correct

Ron Paul was the most exciting rallying point, look at how many local parties we were going to win!

Local government is the path out of tyranny

"Truth is Treason in an Empire that lies" - Ron Paul

Educate the masses, and win in the end.

The rules may change in 2016 election

in that, the country will be going through high inflation if not hyperinflation. The candidate that has the best grass roots campaign will win this time. Money won't play as big a part in 2016 as in past.

Since the Iowa Governor called the Republican party of Iowa the party of Paul, I think Rand has a jump on all others. If he can grow the support that Ron had in New Hampshire by 7 to 10 points it might be pretty hard to beat him. I could see him win the first to states right out of the gate.

Gold standard: because man can not be trusted to control his greed

I think you are wrong. The

I think you are wrong. The corporations will win...they always win because they have the money.

Did anyone want Ronald Reagan at the time?

How about Obama? I think you must say no to both questions. Both men won because of the grass roots effort. Reagan won in spite of the media being against him. If I remember correctly Reagan didn't win until his fourth try. By then he had everything setup for the win, the establishment picked George Bush.

The Liberty movement got screwed over the last two elections, but we are stronger now. We already own 7 or 8 states, and the ones that screwed us over last time won't be able to next time so easy. We won't fall sucker to the old tricks again.

If we hit hyperinflation you think that everything will continue as it is now? The media won't be there with their propaganda, good chance of power blackouts. When milk cost $50 to $100 a gallon and gas the same, do you think people are going to watch TV. People are going to be so pissed they will want a change from the old ways.

2016 can be our time, we all must start believing it and make it so.

Gold standard: because man can not be trusted to control his greed

maybe

but when corporations can buy legislation, regulation and put people in their pocket,,,, you will see plenty of money regardless

also--repubs have many rich donors who won't be bothered by a weak dollar

are either of these subsets of our party gonna be on the rand bandwagon--i doubt it

He will win

as long as we dismantle the electronic voting system in time for the run. End Of Story! Not only that, there should be a strong push to make as many states as possible "caucus" states. End the primary and make the entire election based on "real" support, not fraudulent vote counting systems. That is the only reason Dr Paul lost and we need to make sure that it does not happen again.

Michael Nystrom's picture

Assertion

The candidate that has the best grass roots campaign will win this time.

This assertion is based on a world view that may or may not occur. (Country going through hyperinflation)

I'm trying to distinguish between belief and hope. Please don't take it personally.

I'm just examining your Reality Tunnel. We all have one, and they're all different. It is interesting to hear news from other reality tunnels of the earth.

All art is only done by the individual. The individual is all you ever have, and all schools only serve to classify their members as failures. E.H.

Reality tunnel LOL

thats one I haven't heard before, but your right we all have our own. Mine really changed the day Obamacare became reality. I owned no silver at that time but with in 1 month I bought 20 oz, and then I learned the truth about Ron Paul. I was one of the Republicans that laughed at the Liberty movement in 2008.

What makes me believe this country is heading for hyperinflation is because of all the debt public and private. Then when you realize our whole system is really depends on the petro-dollar it's even more fragile. China and Russia are gunning for the USA's status as a world currency holder. China is building the worlds largest refinery in Saudi Arabia, this is where we get most of our foreign oil.

Then there is the facts of the past in that, 21 countries have experienced hyperinflation in the past 25 years. I think Zimbabwe was the last, and still is a basket case. Even the USA experienced it in 1812, and in 1861. I think it's just a matter of time before inflation kicks into high gear, we are already at 8 to 10%, The CPI is the biggest lie in town.

Some of these countries have profited from the hyperinflation, one was Russia they shed most of their debt through hyperinflation. So it can be a good thing for the Government to do especially when they want a new currency. Easy to do once they destroy the old, but not so good for the people. Every thing they depend on is gone, like S.S. and healthcare to name a couple.

So in my reality Tunnel I have been getting ready for hyperinflation. I bought a farm site, now raising my own home grown food, tried of the GMO crap any way. I figure I should be able to survive while everyone else is jumping from skyscrapers.

My hope it happens on Obama's term as POTUS so they can't blame any one else.

Gold standard: because man can not be trusted to control his greed

Too much emphasis on the national politicians . . .

IMO the focus must be back at the state and local level. I have absolutely no trust that those in the central government will help restore our Liberty.
I have not forgotten Rands political actions which displeased me. I have not forgotten that he seems to be more of a Republican than a libertarian. I have not forgotten than Rand is not Ron.

I jumped on too many band wagons in the past. Rand has a lot to do to get my trust or support. If that is even possible. And, there's a lot to focus on before 2016.
