1. defend against government tyranny
2. repel invasions & lessen need for a standing army
3. protection from street crime
4. hunting for sport
5. hunting for food
6. target shooting for sport
7. target shooting for training
8. gun collecting
9. because of the 2nd amendment
10. because of the 9th amendment
11. because the right to bear arms predates the US Constitution
12. because your state protects gun rights
13. because the Constitution protects your property and guns are property
14. because the Constitution says you have the right to contract and buying a gun is a contract
15. protection from wild animals, Indians, pirates, or slave rebellions
16. because you are a private security guard
17. because you are an official member of an organized state militia
18. because you are an able bodied male and unofficial member of the militia
19. because you have a conceal carry permit
20. because you have the right to self-assisted suicide
21. to scare the bejesus out of any potential threat to you life, liberty of property
