A group of like-minded patriots, bound together by pride in American exceptionalism, plan on building an armed community to protect their liberty.
The group, named Citadel, intends to purchase 2,000 to 3,000 acres for the project in western Idaho. The community will comprise of 3,500 to 7,000 families of patriotic Americans who "voluntarily choose to live together in accordance with Thomas Jefferson's ideal of Rightful Liberty."
According to the Citadel website, Rightful Liberty means that "neighbors keep their noses out of other neighbors' business, that neighbors live and let live."

I will be purchasing this to go with my small wood stove

Seen other videos where people have used it on campfires as well. The thermostat isn't accurate but you can buy one that you can put inside.
There is also this item if your rocket stove has a flue. It's kind of expensive so I'm going with the coleman myself.

A rocket stove or standard wood stove can provide hot water through the use of copper coils (easy to make), power through TEG modules (thermoelectric generators). heat of course and cooking.

Leery of this one because eventually the heat will work its way up to the plastic and melt it I think. Still it can be used fairly reliably as long as you either limit the time heating or you use a metal container instead of plastic. So still a good idea.

Oh and check out this guys rocket stove: Engineer775 on youtube.

Ps! A similar rocket stove made by the same company is on Amazon for $75 I think. You know how it can be when you are trying to get family to help ya sometimes or at least I do lol

Coleman Oven
is a good idea! I think I may get one. Looks great!
Presently, I am in an RV in South TX and this works great for me for water. I put 2 Y's in my connecting water source (garden hose) and ran 200 feet of hose in the sun, bypassing my regular water supply. When I want hot water, I go out and switch the valves and I have hot water. It is too hot to shower with, but I can use the bathtub. I am planning to add another 200 feet to the bypass for additional hot water. This works 10 months out of the year. These coil water heaters have me thinking.
I did not know there were rocket heaters that do not burn sideways and heat that hot. Good stuff on Engineer 775. I probably will just buy one. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Glad to help my fellow off-gridders
It's easy to make the coil yourself.. He also has a video on that as well.. You just fill the copper tube with water and put it in the freezer for a day or two. Then take it out and wrap it around a pipe the size you want.. The ice keeps the copper tube from crimping. Neat trick!
Good idea on the hose. How is your system setup where you have to switch the valve? I'm curious how you get cold water if your hose is still in the sun.
You could also wrap black PVC piping into a circle and lay that on top of your RV! Portable solar heater. :)
A lot of people are downsizing to RV's.. I've even thought of doing it too and maybe traveling a little before I go to Alaska. Sounds like fun.

The Y's
have a valve on each side of the split. Usually I just shut one side and open the other on both Y's. As in the case of the tub, I open the hot water side and run the hot in with the cool flowing in behind it to cool the water. When I finish my bath, I just go back outside and switch both valves on each side back to their original position. Of course, my primary line from the faucet is not cold, but it is not in full sun.
Note: Back to the canning - after you remove the cooker from the fire and let it cool until the psi goes down, then you open the valve and remove the lid. Be sure, when you remove hot jars from the cooker, to set them on a heavy towel and NOT IN A DRAFT. A breeze blowing around the jars will cool them too fast and break your jars.
I am having trouble with my internet today and am slow in responding.
Good idea on the coil!
I guess I'm not understanding why you need to go outside
Is there no way to have the valve inside?

The Primary Line
is connected to my RV. My RV has a line to my hot water system that is inside the RV hot water heater and feeds the hot water faucets. I can still use it normally. My bypass hose outside feeds hot water through the cold water faucet, by way of the primary line, leaving the RV intact.
It could probably be done, but I didn't want to modify the RV. I still need the RV system to work properly.
Okay, I see now I think.

Rocket Stoves Rock!
I currently supplement the propane with my small woodstove.
It's a small farmhouse, so
1. Not a lot of sq ft to heat (heat-o-later vents send warmth upstairs)
2. Flue is in center of home, best location.
3. Baloon Construction allows home to "breathe", unlike more modern
tyvek-wrapped McMansions (CO buildup is prevalent there.)
I will have to explore a design that will not intrude on the living space...as I said before, it's a 1300 sqft farmhouse.
But then again, that's why we have barns!
"Beyond the blackened skyline, beyond the smoky rain, dreams never turned to ashes up until.........
...Everything CHANGED !!
My plan is to have a duel wood stove system
That way I can use everything on the inside during the winter when I warm my cabin and outside when summertime hits so as to not run me out of it.
A small rocket stove set up on the other side of the wall would work great for most of what I need without heating my little home up.

double comment - sorry
I do not believe you are seeing "The Big Picture".
This is a symbol of defiance of the "nanny state". "Warsaw Ghetto" or not, this bravery will embolden others to follow.
We are seeing the big picture Bob, which includes
the actual practical problems of it. I'm sure they'll figure the space problem out.. they won't have a choice really.
