If the other candidates are out of cash...
...then how is it that these guys are doing so well in the polls? I know that a win here and there spurs momentum and the MSM is enamored with guys like McCain and Huckabee.
But what good is the money if Huckabee can be on Joe Scarborough's "Morning Joe" every other day if not every day? I mean, Huckabee is on the talks show non stop, and this goes back to before the win in Iowa.
I also know there is a media blackout but how do appearances on the media work. Certainly Joe is not asking Huckabee every freakin day to come on, is he?
Is the campaign seeking out appearances on the MSM? Are they pursuing the talk shows and media outlets?
I mean, I have not seen Dr Paul on the MSM since the "racial" interview with Wolf Blitzer and BARELY heard his name called out. (And I admit I watch a LOT of MSM.
We all might think write off the media but we need to at least get Dr Paul's name out there and STILL there are places where there is a lack of name recognition.

Good question: Is the RP campaign pursuing the media for coverage and interviews, or is it all in vain?
In other words: is there some strategy in this regard?

you know you need better media relations staff.
Not so sure about that...
A *LOT* of any press is dependent upon the [ingrained, almost subconscious] attitudes of the public relations people -- if they TRULY LIKE the press, then the press in turn LIKES them and works with them (hey, it's a human trait).
Conversely, if the PR people have a proverbial "chip" on their shoulder and are even slight "offputting" then the press will NOT like them and will blow them off.
And for whatever reason (previous work with the 1988 run of RP as a "fringe" libertarian candidate?) the campaign staff seem to have and to cultivate a "victim" mentality (which then becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy).
Face it, we have a neurotic campaign staff, and it does NOT help.

That means that the tv host must get special permission to use Ron Pauls name.
If The host mentions his name without special permission the host is fired and black balled out of the new business.
