There was a thread about someone wanted help video taping in NH and suddenly the entire thread disappears???? I think we deserve an explanation of who's doing what and why!! » |

Jane Aitken posted the request for assistance in Concord, to video the vote recount. I think that's the case. She may have asked Michael to remove it voluntarily, which many of us do, once the time has past.
Nothing untoward or sneaky here. She needed people with videos at a certain hour and it's long past that now.
Don't jump to any conclusions about bad guys. I am sure Jane will post what went on.

However, it made me think about two things.
1) Either the post was pulled or the 7 flags and you are out automatically without any administration action holds true. Somebody has posted that several times and I believe it should never have been posted. We all know that some of our more unusual visitors don't travel alone. I would encourage Michael to either post that the 7 flags was never true or to change the directive, tell people so and then not post how it was changed. It serves no purpose at this point or at least no good purpose.
2) There may be many urgent needs for foot soldiers in the future. We know the areas coming up. We know the primaries and in this case we knew there was a recount and that people would be needed. Perhaps a phone/email chain within the meet-up (actually most communicate really well with their members) and between meet-ups in surrounding areas needs to be in place from now on for just such a situation as this. A real communication plan.
And, finally, we should remember the old lesson about whisper a secret to the child next to you and pass it around the circle. The secret always gets distorted once it goes full circle. We have that kind of a situation magnified on the net. Things travel from one forum to another. Sometimes they are picked up from news articles or sites that are not friendlies and by the time you or I hear about them, they have become *fact* when before they were somebody's best guess. Other times it is the other way around.
Emotions are running high as they should be regarding voting irregularities.....lets keep cool heads. We will be more effective that way.

One of the flag options is "contained private information"...If I'm not mistaken the thread gave a private address to go to...It also did not say what that address was or why go there, just bring your camera..it was probably taken off as a possible scam

The whole thing reminded me of that RP speech..They count the ballos in secret, then they hand them over to delivery guys, then they transport them all over the place in secret, then they bring them all back with other delivery guys, but these are NOT sealed, but you can't film them, because they are secret, and they need help in NH, but THAT is secret..um..like the title says..
*sigh* Here's what I got out of it
I only briefly read what was going on, but here is what i got out of it and why it was taken down... since people insist on knowing, i'm posting. (i have no official ties with any group whatever etc etc this is just what I read into what was posted)
Bev Harris over at Blackbox voting asked for a call for help to have people with video cameras show up at the site the NH ballots were being delivered to (Despite officials were saying anybody with a camera would have their camera confiscated). The reason for this is she was alleging that sealed ballot boxes were being unloaded off of trucks, and when the recount people were allowed to access these boxes, the seals had been broken (a violation of federal law).
She wanted this done through back channels and as a word of mouth effort without this going all over the internet (too late for that now) because she was hoping to catch people perpetrating such things in the act. We all know that people monitor these sites to catch wind of what is going on, and we just sent up alarm bells for people perpetrating this illegal activity to get the hell out.
Now, by further inflaming this issue, the only purpose it serves is to have hundreds if not thousands of angry people espousing their hatred to whoever they think is guilty, making us sound like loons while the people actually committing this voting atrocity can disavow themselves from any wrongdoings and disappear into the woodwork again...

It came to the Ron Paul War Room as an emergency! We hear that and we are going to jump into help! No one was trying to hurt the campaign or Bev. Whoever posted it on the sites made it a real call for help! What are we suppoorters supposed to do, sit with our hands on our laps!?! We are fighting just as hard as anyone else for this campaign!! It is very unfair to make it sound like WE ARE AT FAULT!

Someone came into the RPWarRoom and goes into every post stating that her account is not working and that Bev needed HELP! I posted it for her so I would be seen and now I am left hanging and am to accept that it is a secret!?! Got me all worked up and then nothing. It is like watching a movie and at the point-the killer is-the tv goes out! Come on!

i believe it was removed because the people who initiated the initial call for help wanted it to stay off the internet to not sensationalize what is happening. They got the support they needed, and they're trying to let people go about their business. Honestly, it's covered. No need to worry about it at this point. Just think of it as a secret for later ;)
