Texas Nationalist Movement's Official Response To White House Petitions Saying No to Secession

The White House recently responded to a petition on their "We The People" website regarding the issue of Texas independence. Below is the official response from the Texas Nationalist Movement.

The people of Texas adhere to the principle espoused in Article 1 Section 1 of the Texas Constitution which says, "Texas is a free and independent State, subject only to the Constitution of the United States, and the maintenance of our free institutions and the perpetuity of the Union depend upon the preservation of the right of local self-government, unimpaired to all the States."

In the absence of a Constitutional prohibition to a State asserting its independence and with the firm knowledge that the actions of the Federal Government represent an definite impairment to the right of local self-government, the Obama administration's response to the petition for secession for Texas represents yet another argument in favor of Texas independence.

Create a parallel government.

Non-violent civil disobedience.

I would join the Texas

I would join the Texas militia if they moved for towards secession, even though I hate Texas lol its about the broader picture, states rights.

If Texas wants to succeed,

If Texas wants to succeed, that means they no longer want leadership from D.C., so it makes no sense to ask D.C. for leadership on the issue. Don't ask your equal for permission.

Good point.

We all wish them success!

Always remember:
"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds." ~ Samuel Adams
If they hate us for our freedom, they must LOVE us now....

Stay IRATE, remain TIRELESS, an

You mean secede? Or Succeed at seceding? Or simply succeed in

maintaining liberty?

Please, which is it? Or do you need to learn how to spell?

Even if he messed up and

Even if he messed up and meant secede, succeed can correctly be used in the context it's in.

Can we have some full and honest disclosure then

by taking "free" out of the national anthem? Oh that's right... we can't do that. If you actually SAY people are not free then there will be a definite armed revolution TOMORROW.

As long as the flag doesn't change, everything's cool. Settle down people. You are free... as long as you get permission first for anything you want to do. You are free to travel, free to work, free to eat whatever you want, free to put whatever you want into your body, free to speak, free to bear arms, free to worship as you choose, free to self-govern, free to start your own business, free to use your private property as you choose, free to associate with others... we have so many freedoms.

Let's not forget most importantly, you are free to have anyone you want and trust to defend you in a court of law against your accusers...

I wonder if the people in Hitler's Germany were "free?"

I wonder if the Chinese are "free?"

I wonder if the people in the USSR were "free?"

Kinda makes you wonder huh? Forgive me if I seem out of line here... and if it's okay to say this... it really seems... like... the only freedom we have is a definition of "freedom" in the dictionary.

When was the last you looked it up? That's probably a good place to start in order to really figure this out. Next we should probably look up the definition of "slavery." Does this all seem logical to anyone else?

(I sure hope they haven't changed the definitions yet).

Proposal: Feb 1st is "Freedom Day"

What if we were to get the word out to everyone in the freedom movement... now this isn't going to work without MASS COMMITTMENT. Not please don't point any fingers at anyone else. What if on that day we decided that from that day fourth we will NO LONGER ask permission for anything we want to do and just reverted back to common law on our own?

What if we had 10 million people that simply "opted out" of all the tyranny all at the same time? What if we all stood up at once? Do you think our SERVANTS would FINALLY get the MESSAGE that WE are FREE in this country... they are the SERVANTS... and WE ARE THE MASTERS?

Since we're free to make definitions:

Freedom is the ability to do what you want to do, and is really only tangentially relevant to this discussion.

Liberty is the collection of freedoms you have left after agreeing to give up some of your freedoms to get along better in society.

No society has complete freedom, and all societies have some liberty. The question is: How much and which freedoms do you want to give up? How much liberty do you want?

The crucial answer provided by Jefferson was: I want the maximum liberty possible subject to the condition that I do not infringe on the same liberty of another.

It's not the freedom movement, it's the liberty movement.

I can only hope that we could

I can only hope that we could do the same here in NH. With the outcome of the recent election here in NH it appears unlikely. With the onslaught of the people from the Free State Project coming here and taking on various political positions, things are going in the right direction however. Good luck to you guys in Texas and set a good example for the rest of us.

It is better to look dumb and not be, than to look smart and not be.

This is just pure stupidity and a perfect example of our demise.

"Petition the white house for secession"? That is one of the dumbest things I have heard of but it is an example of why we are in the shape we are in.

Regardless of what the constitution says young people will grow up thinking this is the way government is run. Ask the president and what the president says goes.

This whole petition the white house crap makes me sick.

Check this stupid poll on the lower right of this page.

As of now 59% of respondents believe that States have no right to "just leave".

Mister kidnapper, may I please come out of the basement?

Look, all the hostages have signed this note. NOW can we go home?
No, it will work. We just have to KEEP sending the kidnapper notes. He's a good guy, he really is. We just have to wait for his conscience to kick in. Here, this petition will get to him, this time we are asking him to just stop being a kidnapper...

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

Read my post below....

this petition was a way to get them to ADMIT that they are willing to murderer to maintain their control. We are not asking if we can leave, we are just asking if we can leave peacefully. Perhaps the petition should have been more direct and ask what the official response would be to Texas' leaving.

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

We did not ask if we could leave...

we asked if we could leave PEACEFULLY!!
Reading between the lines, the official response would be, "We will kill you if you try".

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

They should quit with the

They should quit with the empty threats and just do it. If nothing else, it would provide an immediate threat to the Federal government's powers over the states and ensure a stop to actions on Obamacare and gun control. Secession would be the new full time diversion to occupy people until 2016...which seems sooooo far away.

for Texas and Ron Paul the first President of the Country of Texas

Maybe Missouri could join with you.

If we could redraw the State boundaries to make Kansas City part of Kansas and St. Louis part of Illinois, Missouri would be a State that honored freedom, too.

"Bend over and grab your ankles" should be etched in stone at the entrance to every government building and every government office.
