The Daily Paul Needs Your Help. Fundraiser 64% Complete

The Daily Paul turns six years old on January 19th. I registered the domain on on that date, 2007, and the first post went up two days later. After two presidential elections, the DP remains an important online center of the Liberty movement. I loathe asking for money, but it has become critical.

Only shortly after the site became fun again (it wasn't much fun for me during the election season), things have started to break down. Ghosts are haunting the machine. People are having problems voting on posts and comments, and returning comments to certain users. The errors are random and hard to reproduce. Yesterday we were hit again with an erroneous malware alert from Google that suspended traffic and caused ad revenue to plummet. Big Mike said it's like the site has leprosy - everything is falling apart!

Like a car or a house, the website needs maintenance and repair, and I'm asking for your help to do that.

as long as you can, Michael, or at least some of them. There is a lot of upward price pressure which I expect to only increase.

As you may have heard the rate of bitcoins coming into circulation recently cut in half from about 7,200 per day to 3,600. At the same time more and more people are learning about Bitcoin worldwide...

It's pretty easy to guess the likely effect. Of course, there is downside risk too. People could suddenly lose faith in Bitcoin working for whatever reason. However, after all this time that hasn't happened so you be the judge.

In other news central banks around the world continue to do the exact opposite with their currencies ;)

Sorry, I just get a little paranoid because I remember all the stories I'd hear from my dad about how some letter carriers get a little "curious" with peoples' mail.

I Hope that you didn't call B.S. on ME! The night that I wrote that a check was on the way, I wrote the check, adressed the envelope, put my return address on.. and as I was out of stamps I left it on my desk. Well if your desk looks anything like my desk it promply got buried under other papers. To my horror.. I CLEANED! (Not like me at all) and there it was ! My first thought was " Michael thinks I was "Blowing Smoke". to make myself look good to my fellow Paulers ", then, "I am such a dumbass, in addition to also being a slob"

Going to the P.O. tomorrow and the check will really be in the mail, even tho in my mind and heart you already had my little check in your Liberty Loving hands for some days.

It's really sad that the economy is hurting all of us, and most of us cannot contribute as much as we would have liked. Some of us did the best we could, under the circumstances. Others of us continue to post and comment without regard to our host's needs to keep them free to post and comment on this site.

It's sad to see how many DPers are avoiding this thread, yet continue to comment from time to time. They still don't seem to understand that there's no such thing as free lunch, unless you are homeless. This is like a home for us and if we lose it, there will be no more free lunches served here.

Mistakes were made, Michael. You know it, and it has cost you. What you do about it, if anything, is up to you. I mean no offense by that and I apologize, if I am out of line. But, we lost a lot of good people BEFORE Tampa, as well as after.

For those of us still here, it's time to chip in $10, $15, $20 or more, if you haven't done so already. Yes, it hurts but, do it to keep the R3VOLution alive and well.
