Any NPR listeners out there?

Today there was a report on NPR by Michele Norris in which she discussed the conservative credentials of each Republican candidate. In the six minute piece she failed to mention Paul once; and as we all know here, he is probably the most conservative in all of the areas she covered.
You can listen to the story here (the text on the page is NOT the transcript, you'll need to click on the link): http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=18195320
After listening, you may want to let NPR know how you feel that Ron Paul was left out of a story in which he should have been the star. You can do that here:
The story aired on "All Things Considered" by the way.
I've written them an email letting them know I'm canceling my membership.

npr is officially dead to me
i heard the same story, sitting in my car, parked in the driveway just waiting for them to say something about RP. My jaw dropped after they interviewed the guy that liked goldwater and reagan and they STILL didn't bring up his name.
it made me so sad. i think npr is the worst of them all. they bundle their lies in a blanket of intellectualism.
this is not the first time they've done this... it's been a total black out except for references to the newsletters.
i still like click and clack though.
Much more than simple frustration at this point
Fox News....fine, thats been a losing battle for years
CNN....ok, whatever
NY Times.......seriously, what the fuck
Salon.com......everybody.....
but NPR is supposed to be a stronghold....never corruptible....and that was just blatant disregard
pretty ironic this occurred on "All Things Considered," huh?
My parents, who aren't Paul supporters (yet), are even weighing in on this....I've been calling them and my brothers, giving 'em updates.....the NY Times is crazy....all of this is just fucking crazy......if there is ever a time that warrants foul language it's in this foul situation
hopefully Paul wins Nevada.....I mean, tey can't throw a primary win down the memory hole....I mean they'll damn sure try.....but this has a breaking point somewhere, and I think more people than we know are seeing through this media blackout bullshit
I just try and remind myself that change is an arduous process.....these guys fortress is falling down fast, and they'll try anything to keep it together.....and if that means literally abandoning all journalistic integrity, then so be it
Here, here
Good post. I hope folks use the links on this page and contact NPR. At least drop a line.
I felt the same way yesterday. And who in the heck can we even contact that would address this injustice? I came in the house and jsut ranted and ranted to my wife after I heard the show. Bless her, she let's me go on and on when I do that. Manoman...wtf?
npr=just another tool
I wrote and complained about their election coverage early on. When there was a debate and RP won the text poll, it was reported on npr that Huckie won 2nd place, but RP was not mentioned.
I will never again send money to npr, even though I did for almost 20 years.

When writing NPR
I wrote a lengthy email and was disappointed that I only had one choice on who to send it to. If I pick mngmnt, will they just throw it in the trash? If I send it to one particular show will mngmnt miss it? I decided to copy and paste it to a few of the choices and then, woooo hoooo, I found out something!
When you go to the comment page do this, if you want, it's pretty cool.
Go there, fill out the few boxes of information, write your smart and well thought out and civil message. There are two choices for the destination of your message, choose one. Then a lengthy drop down menu will appear, e.g.: listener advocate, management, All things considered, etc. Click on one of those, then hit send...Cool your message is sent to the destination of your choice. THEN you can click your BACK button and your back to the original 'send message' page with your original email still there! Sooo, click on one of the destination buttons again, the drop down menu appears, pick a different destination and do it again!
Did I confuse you or inform you? It's easy to figure out if you try what I am tryong to explain. I will go there and come back and post a link. I really think as many folks as possible should email them.
I ended up sending my messages to nearly everyone of the options, all of the shows got my email, all of the management, I even sent the message to the store and others. Maybe the whole building will be discussing the "Ron Paul issue" between themselves at least. Hell, if anything, their moral responsibility might be bothered.
Let me know what you think. Thanks for reading my long post.
Update..OK heres the link for contact...Drop them a line folks. After all it is your tax dollars paying some of their salary

OK
I fixed the link. Contact them now.
Thanks
I have olny myself to blame
npr takes most of their contributions from the big endowments, trusts and so called charitable orginazations the ford foundation should pay reparations to the jews they helped slaughter with hitler in ww2?why are these critters not held accountable (ibm, blackwater, kbr)then or now?I guess the better question is why do I own a ford???If I olny knew then what I know now.
mention him it is usually a
mention him it is usually a hit piece. Listen to the Host's blatant laughter. Oh that silly ole' Ron Paul is the implication. This is worse than Fox because it is subtle and dismissive.
Does anyone have any sponsor information for this Talk of the Nation Program?
Listen:
At 3:40 a caller calls in because she is amazed that the online test which matches you with a candidate based on your input and it chose Ron Paul.
Then at 12:08 he talks about Ron Paul's "past writings."
I guess its time to announce MLK Day in the discussion thread.
NPR is a little more subtle (compared to Fox) but their intent is the same.

I was stunned as well
I am a long time NPR listener who wrote an email today about Peter Overbys piece on Tuesday about Republican fundraising that COMPLETELY OMITTED Ron Paul. Of course Giuliani and Thompson were mentioned, both of whom have been exceeded by RP by all objective metrics, which I duly pointed out
Then to hear this piece that had the perfect setup to discuss Ron Paul as the only old school republican that all of the SC repubs were yearning for so much, and to have the piece conclude that there is NO candidate that addresses these values was monumentally incompetent or equally monumentally biased.
I guess two letters in one day is not too many.
textually yours,

National Petroleum Radio
I heard the beginning of the program as well and as soon as they said South Carolina voters had no true conservative option except Mike Huckabee I turned the channel. NPR is in goose step with the rest of the media, we are on our own.
Broke my heart
I listened to NPR today and did hear one guest mention RP. He was angry and opposed RP for "writing those newsletters". Somebody should have jumped in to save Doc's good name. He didn't write any such thing. But the ranting continues. It broke my heart.
Yes
I was sitting in my p/u truck just waiting to hear RP and then the segment was ove and nothing. I just sat there with my mouth hanging open, hell, I almost cried. Even when they were talking about no true Republican like Goldwater, Reagan Taft in the party any more.
I did write them a long and thoughtful email last night.
I am just so blown away by all of this. Especially NPR! These guys are like the last of the Mohicans. I still find it astonishing!
i used to think that way about npr
...they do have some unique in depth pieces. but as soon as the subject starts around israeli sovereignty, federal reserve...you will find nothing but dead air. oh, lets not forget that ron is the ONLY candidate that could beat a democrat this time around. think on that.
NPR has corporate sponsors just like PBS does now.
sponsors
Yes, but hey still have a responsibility to be proffesional journalists, especially them. They both get a ton of my tax dollars. NPR and PBS to me were the cream of the crop for in depth coverage. All of those hosts and so called journalists have just soooo let the American public down.
Moyers did a fair and good spot on his show a few weeks ago when RP and Kucinich were on there.
