Submitted by Katniss Everdeen on Wed, 01/16/2013 - 19:29Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul plans to introduce legislation in Congress soon nullifying the executive orders on guns announced by President Barack Obama on Wednesday, a source familiar with the plans confirmed to The Daily Caller.
The Republican legislator plans to reveal his plans for legislation during an appearance on Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News on Wednesday night, the source said.
Obama on Wednesday announced during a White House ceremony that he plans to initiate 23 executive actions meant to curb gun violence in the wake of the Newtown, Conn., massacre last year.

Anyone else notice that the more laws they pass
the more it seems like anarchy?
I never heard of nullifying executive orders before. Maybe because it's never been done dramatically while I've been old enough to pay attention.
But can't Obama just use Executive Order to strip Congress of its right to nullify? Just like he illegally bypassed them with going into Libya?

I could see Obama being
I could see Obama being impeached at some point if very restrict gun legislation is somehow implemented. But the Senate would never find him guilty. Party lines would closely be followed. Unless it was over violations of the 2nd amendment. Then there would be a few Democrats that would probably cross over. There's about 10 pretty pro-gun Senators, but even in that case though it'd be 10 votes short (assuming all Replublicans plus the 10 Democrats). Which means it's a pipe dream to think the Senate would find him guilty.

If there has ever been a clear case of an impeachable offense, this is it. He has absolutely NO jurisdiction to do any of what he has done.
That should be the question that's on everyone's mind. Why nullify when impeaching is the end need.

Because the republicans do not control Congress. It's basic math. In order to impeach a president, a lot of democrats would have to be on board, and I don't see that happening.
If the GOP was in control of both the House and Senate, I do not think Obama would have ever attempted what he has done.

Throughout history... Kings who abused the serfs generally met with a bit stricter penalty. Also he needs to be ARRESTED... not impeached. He's not the president. How do you impeach someone who's not president? Impeaching him would validate all the acts he's done.
...but I digress... this is all just a SHOW... and I got sucked into the conversation. I could care less what these looney bins do.

Rand is positioning himself for a run, and now is the time to do it. Rand has been the most outspoken republican senator over the gun control issue, and now he's backing up his words with legislative action.
Two years to go, only about 730 days until it's January 2015 and we're all talking about the primary and caucus races.
That's not long.
