Duly noted ...

... the elected representative is against liberty and democracy. Thanks for letting us know.

Now ... I wonder what the people in her district think about that.

Here "she"

Here "she" is...

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

She bears a striking resemblence to Janet Napolatano, now...

doesn't she?

That is actually a picture of the congresswoman.

I really wish that people

I really wish that people would stop assuming that New Hampshire is full of liberty lovers just because they adopted a motto back in 1945. It's a motto, nothing more. Just look at who they vote for.

How did Ron Paul come in 2nd

How did Ron Paul come in 2nd out there then?

Exactly. Ron Paul coming in

Exactly. Ron Paul coming in 2nd in both the GOP Primary and the Democratic Primary and also, doing better in NH than another other state is good evidence to suggest that while everyone in NH doesn't support Live Free or Die, the spirit is more alive in NH than anywhere else in the country.

Read more about Ron Paul's incredible performance in NH and how it helped him so much in SC and in national polls. http://freestateproject.org/intro/ron_paul

its just that no one has seen or recognized it yet!

lol quite comical

the state with a plate that says "live free or die" does not want libertarians.

Homeland security statement: patriotism is now considered terrorism.
I love www.isidewith.com shared it with everyone I know. If anything they realize its not just a red and blue idiot running for reelection.

Perhaps Adjusting the Motto Would Help

Just remove the "...or die" part and they might attract fewer people who find that choice attractive for some reason.

Lol. Different people have

Lol. Different people have different opinions. A former governor of NH joined the FSP as a friend. Dozens of state reps love the US. A former US Senator spoke at the groups annual Liberty Forum event, the largest liberty conference in the Northeast. A former US Congressman and current NH Senate Majority Leader praised the group. The former NH Speaker of the House praised the group. The Union Leader, the only large paper in NH, publishes articles by FSPers and just came out with an editorial praising the FSP. A FSPer writes for the biggest conservative blog, GraniteGrok.com, in the state.

Cynthia Chase is a statist college teacher that moved to NH in 2006.

Live Free or Die!

"Live free or die"

but they won't do either.

Gamblers not welcome in Nevada?

Isn't that kind of like a state Rep in Nevada saying gamblers are not welcome in Nevada? Or like Utah saying Mormons are not welcome? I mean if the people of New Hampshire doesn't want Libertarians visiting, vacationing, relocating to NH then they should stop making their state so darn attractive to libertarians.

This time next year when Cynthia Chase is seeking re-election, she'll be suggesting New Hampshire has improved during her time in office because some agencies data shows the number of people moving to NH to live and work is growing blah blah blah.

I'm an anarchist. But i

I'm an anarchist. But i definitely enjoyed convincing strangers on the street to convert to the min-archism Ron Paul espoused, in remaining truthful to the constitution.

Rand Paul might as well be on a different planet from me. But he is contributing some good to the Gun-Control Debate.

If Rand Paul said it was okay for me to grow marijuana on the side of the highway, and he didn't mind, then my feelings towards Senator Rand Paul would decrease in absurdity.

But right now i'm more than happy to use the force of the government to bring down corporations like Monsanto.

Fellow Newhampsherite

The liberty movement is strong in NH, but we still have a ways to go before we take the senators/congressman/governor level. Mark Warden is a good example of a true free state representative, I have spoken with him on the phone and he is very open and easy to access. I had to send Cynthia an email, she is my "representative" after all:

"Libertarians not welcome in NH? Too bad"

"Dont like it? Get used to it. We are done putting up with your tyranny, you WILL be voted out. No matter how hard you kick and cry, the majority of youths DO NOT TRUST POLITICIANS and will be joining third parties as you continue to fuck our country over along with the Republicans. We arent dumbasses like our parents and grandparents were to vote you people in. Everyone i talk to knows you people are liars, cheaters and sellouts. Want to talk ending the Federal Reserve and REALLY restoring civil liberties? If you wake up someday, maybe you'll join us. Until then, enjoy your seat before we vote your ass out."

I will never be able to read that word in any other voice than Piers Morgan's ever again.

I'm from NH and I am appalled

I'm from NH and I am appalled by this representative's statement. The state's motto here is "live free or die". Politicians in the past have tried to change this state motto and did not succeed. Free State Project members have been showing up in our state and making changes to our state in the direction of more freedom. Thank you for your efforts. I personally welcome all FSP people and hope you and many other existing freedom minded people here in this state help get this clueless representative out of office.

It is better to look dumb and not be, than to look smart and not be.

Open Message to freedomsreigning

I do not agree with anarchists, I like the founders believe SOME government is necessary. I understand not from a protection standpoint, but from a business standpoint. Wealth will grow very slow under anarchy. I can explain but only if people ask me to.

However I think you need to take a step back and chill. You obviously have no basis for making accusations and its clear to see you don't understand the word anarchy, and in starting to question whether you understand the word freedom, because freedom is obviously not reigning anywhere in the US.

When you show you have a working knowledge of freedom, the word anarchy, and what a libertarian is, I will engage in a rational conversation with you about the pros and cons, without insults. Until then you are just another one of the uninformed and I apologize but your opinions offer no value here.

Wait why do we need the

Wait why do we need the government? I heard Judge Napolitano say he believes in open boarders and so do I. I mean once we have our republic how will we pay for boarder security? Taxes? No thank you! I think as long as we stop entitlements, we should have open boarders with no problem. Idk what do you think? I mean all boarders are is imaginary lines on a map! Right? I should be able to go anywhere in the world I want! Am I missing something here? What is the role of government? To protect our civil liberties, right? How are they doing? Lol. There also suppose to make sure we have a sound currency, right? How are they doing? My only fear is that ppl will always be corrupted by power, so why even give that power to people?

juan maldonado

You seem to be missing the point of his post. He is not interested in government to protect borders. He said very clearly that he wants government to protect "business." That is to say, he wants government to artificially increase the rate of wealth creation. I suppose he also recognizes that this will be at the expense of others and constitutes a system of immoral exploitation, but he feels that his perceived "benefits" are worth it.

We probably have to convince such people both of the immorality and the true benefits of sustainable (slower and more thoughtful) growth. I am convinced that we are on the right side here, so it's just a matter of time.

Well said, +1

I don't consider myself an Anarchist either (or even a "libertarian"...too vague imo), but I (and many others) have explained what Anarchy is to FR several times and at this point, I have to believe that s/he is either a troll or simply wants to remain willfully ignorant. S/he just repeats the same few lines on a seemingly endless loop.

Personally, I don't think there's any magic bullet political philosophy, since there will always be "bad" people in the world and those who seek control over others, regardless of what form of government we have (or don't).

NOBODY wants an Anarchist anywhere near them

NOBODY wants an Anarchist anywhere near them, and Anarchists like to call themselves Libertarians, so now Libertarians aren't welcome. Good job.

All an Anarchist will try to do is ruin your country. They like to put on a masks and throwing rocks while they spout off about nonviolence and voluntary interaction. Anarchists are ALL ABOUT violence, except they're cowards and need to use people. They need a mob to hide in while they use violence to get what they want. In fact, they advocate for free market of violence so they can buy what they pretend not to support, violence.

Good job. Now Libertarians and anybody who advocates for sound money can be painted as an Anarchist, and thus be unwelcome.

here this should help you out on your misguided rage :p

You're describing left-anarchists...

...there are also right-anarchists, aka anarcho-capitalists, such as Murray Rothbard and (arguably) Ron Paul. Anarcho-capitalism is simply the consistent application of the non-aggression principle. It is libertarianism in its purest form. The people throwing rocks and wearing black masks are not anarcho-capitalists, they are left-anarchists: big difference.
