Next Friday and a new start

Just one more week and I will no longer work in government. I have spent the past 10 years working in law enforcement and then the state as a Probation and Parole officer. I'm leaving to work as a counselor in the private sector. I have seen and learned so much, the good, the bad, the dumbfounding. Working for government even state and county is really like running face first into a brick wall. The waste at the state level is aggravating to say the least. But I will say this about my soon to be previous employer they are finally taking a common sense turn away from incarceration as an answer. I have often wondered if the Daily Paul community would be interested in hearing what is going on in the corrections world and where I see the system headed. Since i'm now in the position to talk freely would you be interested or would I be wasting my time sharing?

Yes, FantasiaR, please DO educate us!

(btw perhaps you should ask the mods to remove your state identification from your OP . . . just in case :-)
(and change the pic, yes that gorgeous one, on your account page. . . says a paranoid? grandma :-))

Yes. This you should do IMMEDIATELY.

Would be more than wise....

Also leave out whole name.

(You never know....)

What would the Founders do?

Please SHARE!

Most people (perhaps a larger proportion here on the DP--myself included!) have no first-hand... or even second-hand... knowledge of how "the system" really is or how "the process" unfolds at the ground level, where the rubber meets the road.

Thanks in advance.

How are your hands? Stories I hear from people in public business is the massive amounts of paper work will kill you.

Speak!

No one wants to hear the truth at first. Speak anyway. Truth is the only path to liberty.
Thank you for getting out. It is no small feat to realize that one is earning their living by a means that conflicts with their core values. Most will just change their values, at least while they are on the clock. I consider the five most vile words in the worlds to be "I'm just doing my job."
The gang-banger pimping prostitutes and peddling drugs is just doing his job, too.
Congratulations, and I look forward to your tales. I have just recently had my first encounter with the prison for profit system, and I was horrified. A friend in county jail on misdemeanor charges with no victim, and there was NO way for me to speak to her for free, and a phone call (local, mind you) was ELEVEN DOLLARS per call! She had to buy her own TAMPONS, through their commissary at their monopoly price. So, do tell. I'd love to hear more.
