74 NO-HEDGE Sheriff Statements Regarding Your Rights - as of 1/24 - Any More? Open Thread

Get your Sheriff to Support The Liberty Amendment!

Reality Check: Most of these sheriffs support the federally funded the "war on drugs." Why not lead in with a 2nd amendment question and then after beating their chest about how much they support and defend the constitution, ask them where it grants the authority to do drug raids in the constitution?

1) Houston County (Alabama) Sheriff Andy Hughes
"As Sheriff of Houston County it is my job to protect the constitutional rights of our citizens. The second amendment is a right, not a privilege and shall not be infringed upon. As long as I am Sheriff of Houston County, I will not allow anyone to seize any firearms from law abiding citizens within this county."

2) Madison County (Alabama) Sheriff Blake Dorning
Gun Control Laws That Violate Constitution Won’t Be Enforced.

3) Scott Masher (Arizona) Yavapai County:
"As Sheriff, I refuse to participate or cooperate with any unconstitutional order that will infringe upon our 2nd amendment rights."

4) Fresno County (California) Sheriff Margaret Mims
"We don't need any more laws. Laws only work on people who obey the law."

5) Siskiyou County (California) Sheriff Jon Lopey
Declared that he was "... sworn to defend America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and it seems we have more enemies that are domestic these days... "

6) Stanislaus County (California) Sheriff Adam Christianson
"I refuse to take firearms from law abiding citizens and will not turn law abiding citizens into criminals by enforcing useless gun control legislation."

7) El Dorado County (California) John D’Agostini
“The purpose of this letter is to go on record of re-affirming my oath of office and making it clear that I and my staff will never violate [our oath of office] by being pressured into enforcing any unconstitutional provision, law or executive order.”

8) Shasta County (California) Sheriff Tom Bosenko

9) Del Norte County (California) Sheriff Dean Wilson
“I had spent a good part of my life enforcing the penal code, but not understanding my oath of office,” he told the audience. “I was ignorant and naïve, but now I know of the assault against our people by the federal government.”

10) Modoc County California) Sheriff Mike Poindexter
"I've been a public servant my whole life. First thing I protect is the people. That's who I work for, that's who I protect."

11) Larimer County (Colorado) Sheriff Justin Smith posted on CIAbook that he wouldn't allow unconstitutional proposals to stand.
"The Colorado Sheriff occupies this independent office which is not a subservient department of county, state or federal government."

12) Hinsdale County (Colorado) Sheriff Ronald Bruce
“I Will Protect Constitutional Rights…With My Dying Breath”

13) Martin County (Florida) Sheriff Bill Snyder
"...can't support Federal gun rules."

14) Oconee County (Georgia) Sheriff Scott Berry
"I am 100 percent totally opposed to any type of knee jerk reaction where yet again this country tries to solve a problem by 'banning' inanimate objects because they may be used by the mentally ill for the purpose of harm."

15) Gilmer County (Georgia) Sheriff Stacy Nicholson
"I, along with a large number (which is growing daily) of Sheriffs across the state of Georgia as well as the entire United States, have no intention of following any orders of the federal government to perform any act which would be considered to be unlawful or a VIOLATION OF ANY PART OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OR THE CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, nor will we permit it to be done if within our power to prevent it."

16) Paulding County (Georgia) Sheriff Gary Gulledge
“This sheriff will have no part in unarming law abiding citizens.”

17) Cherokee County (Georgia) Sheriff Roger Garrison
"will defend the 2nd Amendment against any infringements by the federal government and the Obama administration."

18) Madison County (Idaho) Sheriff Roy Klingler
"I personally am sick and tired of the government putting regulations in place that affect our personal rights, our property rights and the Constitution," said Klingler.

19) Johnson County (Kansas) Sheriff Frank Denning
The militia mentioned in the Second Amendment pertains to all able-bodied citizens capable of bearing arms. That is US! “to Keep and Bear arms” means, “to OWN and CARRY arms.”

20) Jackson County (Kentucky) Sheriff Denny Peyman
"American citizens already have given up too much power over guns..."

21) Pine County (Minnesota) Sheriff Robin Cole

This, Mr. President is a duty I fully understand, appreciate, and will carry out with great vigor and conviction."

25) Grant County (Oregon) Sheriff Glenn Palmer
“I will not tolerate nor will I tolerate any federal incursion within the external boundaries of Grant County, Oregon, where any type of gun control legislation aimed at disarming law-abiding citizens is the goal or objective,”

26) Coos County (Oregon) Sheriff Craig Zanni
"I have and will continue to uphold my Oath of Office including supporting the Second Amendment Rights of our citizens,"

27) Crook County (Oregon) Sheriff Jim Hensley said Tuesday he sent the same letter to Vice President Joe Biden that was sent Monday by Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller.

28) Douglas County (Oregon) Sheriff John Hanlin
"I will NOT violate my constitutional oath!"

29) Linn County (Oregon) Sheriff Tim Mueller
"We must not allow, nor shall we tolerate, the actions of criminals, no matter how heinous the crimes, to prompt politicians to enact laws that will infringe upon the liberties of responsible citizens who have broken no laws..."

30) Malheur County (Oregon) Sheriff Brian Wolfe
“I believe that the Constitution stands above all laws and executive orders of this Country. I want to be very clear that no one employed on our team at the Malheur County Sheriff’s Office will enforce or support any laws or executive orders that are not consistent with the Constitution of this great land.”

"World history has shown us that when a society does not possess the ability to defend itself it becomes ripe for victimization by criminals, and ripe for government oppression."

Following sheriffs FAILED the constitution test:

FAIL!) Smith County (Texas) Sheriff Larry Smith "Will not enforce an unconstitutional law that takes away firearms from law abiding citizens." What about 73 federally funded illegal searches and seizures without due process 10 days prior to all these grand comments about constitutional rights?

FAIL!) Mendocino County (California) Sheriff Thomas Allman
Rikess: Does that mean, you judge who has the right to carry a concealed weapon or not? Sheriff: Yeah.

FAIL!) Morgan County (Alabama) Sheriff Ana Franklin
Too bad SWAT shot a dog in december.

FAIL!) Curry County, (Oregon) Sheriff John Bishop
“I’m not picking and choosing what laws to follow,” Bishop said. “I took an oath to uphold the Constitution. If any of the executive orders are approved by Congress, I will follow them.”

FAIL!) Josephine County (Oregon) Sheriff Gil Gilbertson

FAIL!) Canyon County (Idaho) Sheriff Kieran Donahue,
"I swore an oath to uphold the Constitution, enforce the law, and protect my community, and that’s what I’ll do."
From Article: "The National Sheriffs’ Association has supported administration efforts to combat gun violence." <<< Sue these guys and this sheriff is sitting on the fence. Speaking up for political pressure only.

FAIL!) Multnomah County (Washington) Sheriff Dan Stanton:
"I support the rights of citizens granted by the Constitution, and have worked hard to ensure those rights are protected." Constitution DOES NOT grant rights!

Not cool

“I am a strong supporter of a person’s right to keep and bear arms; however it is time to institute some stiffer laws concerning assault type weapons and semi-automatic handguns with extended load magazines,” Marshall wrote in his January newsletter posted on his website.

Basically... "I'm a tyrant."

Be brave, be brave, the Myan pilot needs no aeroplane.

Could actually be......

in the hundreds. There are actually hundreds of Constitutional Sheriffs listed on sheriff Mack's site.

If there Constitutional, I guess that puts them on the list....

That doesn't mean they are going to stand up

to Obama right now. We need them to stand up for the people they are sworn to serve right now. This is the biggest responsibility they'll have in their entire political career. This is the RISING of the REPUBLIC.

Here's another.

The sheriff of Latah County, Idaho, Wayne Rausch, has posted a statement on his public FB page saying that he stands with the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and absolutely will not enforce any gun confiscation in his county.

It's a facebook page...

can we get some independent confirmation of Wayne Rausch in Idaho?

I don't know of any other

source yet.

This is HUGE, here is why

"Moscow ID mulls possible gun ban on city property
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

MOSCOW, Idaho -- Four people died and three were wounded last May as a shooting rampage unfolded at the Latah County Courthouse here and now the mayor wants to know whether Moscow can ban guns on city property.

Mayor Nancy Chaney has asked for a legal opinion from the state attorney general's office on whether the city has the authority to ban both concealed and exposed weapons in such public areas."

That is what he is up against. And while I cannot confirm the facebook post, I can confirm he has his head on straight:

Wayne Rausch says Moscow - not to mention UI campus - would be safer places if more qualified people were packing

MOSCOW - With 540 persons carrying concealed weapons permits in Latah County, Sheriff Wayne Rausch said Tuesday he wouldn't mind if more applied and qualified to carry guns.

That includes on the campus of the University of Idaho.

"In my opinion, if there were more students with CPWs, the world would be safer," Rausch said. He pointed out virtually anyone can carry a weapon in plain sight."

Mayor Chaney is

a Marxist from Portland who moved here to set us straight. The only reason she and others like her get anywhere is because Moscow is a blue dot in a red state, thanks to the presence of the University of Idaho. She is nothing but trouble and keeps trying to remake the universe so's to being in utopia.

We have open carry here.

The shooting was not at the courthouse, but from the bell tower of a church across the street from the courthouse. The shooter was the church janitor, which is why he had access to the tower. He shot up the courthouse and some patrol cars in the parking lot, and shot a couple of people who were caught out in the open.

I'm sure the legal opinion

would be in line with the constitution.

There are ~3,100 Sheriffs/Counties in the United States

If we could get 10% or more to each raise a small posse and one to get a warrant for the arrest(s) of federal and state officials who encourage violation of the 2nd amendment by color of authority and treason against the people we could deputize the masses and go after these war criminal gun grabbers.

.

Damn straight.

That is the best idea on the site.

Maybe the best one that has been posted since the election.

and this one

I came back to find the one about a state having it's adult citizens stand up and be a militia.. I think that was a great idea too

The founders

had always ASSUMED (oops) that the "militia" was the people who were always ready to defend the country from all enemies foreign and domestic. Every able-bodied man from 7-70 in some states. You had a responsibility to have your arms well regulated and prepared to go "in a minute" if necessary.

yes

and I was reading somewhere that states need to do that now. Each state would recognize all adults as standing militia and then they would be authorized and even required to be armed in a way that is fit to the situation. was that on here or did I read it somewhere else?

My Sheriff is a disappointment

he sent a letter back with the recommendation from the Ohio Sheriffs Association lawyer.

Basically, he is charged with enforcing the laws and it is the courts who decide what is constitutional or not.

What county are you in?

I've already written my state Senator, state Rep, U.S. Rep, U.S. Senators...my Sheriff is next. I hope we don't live in the same county. :(

Looks like a couple other names in there that need to be check against the list though.

This is interesting:

This "Sheriff's BAR Association" is interpreting the statutes and telling the sheriffs they are constitutional until told otherwise by a judge... basically. Some of us here know that's not the case and are just working to maneuver ourselves into court in the right jurisdiction to prove it.

Someone needs to file suit as a plaintiff against that BAR Association. Anyone in that county? PM me...

Buckeye State Sheriffs' Association: "Enacted laws are presumed to be constitutional until such time as a court with proper jurisdiction rules otherwise.

NOTICE TO SHERIFFS: IF YOU CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT -> WE WILL TELL YOU WHAT IS AND ISN'T CONSTITUTIONAL -> NOT ATTORNEYS -> YOU DEFER TO THE PEOPLE!

Which would be great...

Except for the fact that our justice system is in their pockets too. Taking it to court won't do a damn thing...we are beyond that now. I think these sheriffs realize that...

Al Cannon

Thanks.

Please check my editing - will try to keep the list clean.
