SC has found way to exempt citizens from gun laws WITHOUT NullificationSubmitted by Vots on Sun, 01/20/2013 - 00:10
Tom Davis along with other SC state senators, is sponsoring a new bill that deals with any future federal gun laws, and it may very well become a blueprint for other states. Because get this, it doesn't nullify anything. How?
Exempt the state's unorganized militia.
"The unorganized militia consists of all able-bodied people over the age of 17 who are U.S. citizens residing in South Carolina and legally allowed to purchase a firearm, according to current state law....The bill, sponsored by state Sens. Tom Corbin, Tom Davis, Kevin Bryant and Lee Bright, excludes members of the militia — essentially all state citizens who are at least 18 years old — from any federal gun rules passed after New Year’s Day."
UPDATED: Found the bill, here's the link to the full text of it.
