Politico - Bill Clinton To Democrats: "Don't Trivialize Gun Culture"

By Byron Tau | Politico

Former President Bill Clinton warned a group of top Democratic donors at a private Saturday meeting not to underestimate the passions that gun control stirs among many Americans.

“Do not patronize the passionate supporters of your opponents by looking down your nose at them,” Clinton said.

“A lot of these people live in a world very different from the world lived in by the people proposing these things,” Clinton said. “I know because I come from this world."

Mental Note

Boy is this guy slick. He speaks of us as if we are another species.

Of course he believes in gun control, he just doesn't think it's worth the fight at this juncture. The people in the room that he was speaking to are exactly the people who are trying to enslave us. Keep that in mind...

As much as I dislike Clinton, I'd much rather have him in office than Obama right now

"No physical quantity explains it's own existence, and no amount of time can consume an infinite series of events to bring you to the present, which means all of these somewhere have to be explained by one self-existent cause which is not physical."

I'd even take Hillary over Obama

So many people either hate Hillary or feel indifferent towards her, that she wouldn't be able to get away with nearly as much shit as his Majesty Obama does.

Both of you are wrong.

It was calculated. slick willy, obama hope and change, hillary the UN goddess, they all have the same agenda.. little by little this Republic goes down the crapper.

I know your hearts are in the right place, but I won't even entertain rhetorical talk like that. It's long past time to get down to business.

All I can say is I'm an expert rated ex-infantryman. So, I don't need any target practice. All my rounds I buy are being saved. They'll not get my weapon or my neighbor's or his neighbor's. Not easily anyway. The culture he is talking about is people who respect the constitution, nothing more. It seems like every fucking week all we see is my ass wiping with our most sacred document. I'm so tired of this shit.

More asswiping, rather, not "my"

Did you catch this part...“I

Did you catch this part...“I knew I was getting older when I didn’t hit him,” Clinton said. Clinton recalls telling the NRA lobbyist, “If that’s the way you feel, you get your gun, I’ll get my gun and I’ll see you in Texas.”

He's got guns or power (other people with guns) but he and the rest of his ilk don't want you to have the same. Now that he is out of his cocaine haze he can remember back to those days in Arkansas before Vince Foster and Mena and he knows not to do a full frontal assault on the people who like guns and/or live in rural areas. I think he's hinting for the elite to just take it a little slower in small, incremental steps.

See your Willy, raise AJ and Lew Rockwell and more.

chilling words.

“You have the power to really democratize America”

They may have the power.

They don't have the will.

The criminal want to take people's guns so only the government criminals have guns.

All the better to loot you, my dears.

socialize. You cannot have independents in a socialist system, they have to be dealt with.

And then there was the

off camera message: Are you people nuts!? Forget that idiot Obama for a minute. Do you even have a clue as to how many of your constituents are clinging to their guns 'bout now?

['This is not an issue' my ass. This issue - guns = liberty -is exactly the kind of issue that brings the masses together.]

I have a 'proud to own guns' black family next door to me whose 10 yr old son told me 4rth of July two years ago..."Obama's trying to take our guns away". Hello.

Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts.

Clinton is cautioning his people to move just a little more slowly, to let things settle in before leaping forward again. His goal is to desensitize, rather than to chance having nwo objective abruptly halted.

His, obama, nwo, goals are indeed poetic but one and the same.

I always try to engage people in rational conversations while trying to understand where they are coming from and addressing issues from their points of view.

My apologies... I didn't catch the sarcasm..

I've found that sarcasm is sometimes hard to convey when typing on the internet.

It is never trivial when one is attempting to usurp unalienable

rights specifically outlined for protection in the Constitution.

I appreciate President Clinton's advice to democratic legislators - even though he is performing a balancing act while doing so.

The system of government of the US is not a democracy. Thomas Jefferson once said:

"Democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where 51% of the people may take away the rights of the other 49%."

That is why the Founders created a constitutionally limited republic. It should never be forgotten that the influence of a government resides in the consent of the governed.
