Stop Using The Term "ASSAULT Weapon": Use "DEFENSE Weapon".

only serve their preferred connotation.
Everywhere you write or respond in the media to
gun issues use the term DEFENSE weapon in stead of ASSAULT.
Imagine the positive effect of criticizing the powers that be
for implementing DEFENSE WEAPON BANS.
DEFENSE WEAPONS
For that is what they ARE in the hands of 99.9999999 percent
of the 70+ Million gun owners.
Not to mention the fact that a TRUE assault weapon is traditionally
defined as a fully auto weapon.
(Though if we were commonly allowed to acquire them they
would still be defensive weapons also, in our hands)
Speak out against DEFENSE WEAPON BANS.
Then THEY have to do the back peddling to explain THEMSELVES as
to why they are taking away ability to DEFEND.

One may redirect and attempt to redefine and relabel, and I honor those who labor at that approach.

If they won't use defense weapon, use department of assault
If the person you are talking to won't use defense weapon, ask them why we aren't calling the "defense department", the assault department, which is the prime users of weapons.

Ah, the power of words.
Very clever trick some use when they concoct terms like "assault weapon", "conspiracy theory/theorist", "truther", "birther", etc., to foment negative bias.
Since the "assault" term implies intent, no reason not to fight fire with fire with your excellent idea of a counter term that reflects the defense intent of the many owners of these types of weapons.
Guess What's Coming Next
..."hookers" (for all those Sandy Hook skeptics).

They are only assault weapons if you assaulting someone with them as our government did at ruby ridge and Waco Texas. In the hands of honest citizens they are defense weapons to be used to defend against criminals and tyranny.
