If you enjoy listening to Jazz, Lupe kills it on Robert Glasper's new album. He sings "Always Shine" which is one of my favorite songs today.
You ever see the inner depths of a man's soul?
Or ninja turtles pouring out of manholes?
This is balance
Between a comic and a conscious, that's the challenge
Between the solitary and the conference that I examines
That I imagine was a figure
Would be the start of world peace and the transformation of niggas
Like the transubstantiation of liquor
But that's just turnin' them into blood
And we'll be right back where we was
Not a peace-sign, but a fascination with scissors
So I can cut
Myself off from the calculations of empress, empires, and the sinners
For advancement of human suffering
And other things trying to impede my publishing and editorials
That's gon' bring it back to us again
A boomerang minus Halle Barry and Eddie and everybody fucking and huh'
Shotgun
Even though independent cars ain't got one
I got some and more to spare
No more despair
My motor-ware don't match my motivate to mate
Also I drive to stay alive and ride this over there
My momma so mad, so no alcohol in here
I'm Aries Spears on my Jay-Z shit
Affion on the Drake skit
Now how many more can I make with just one voice
They might call it fake shit
This some deep shit
It's my me impersonatin' we shit
Vicariously in every rap I speak with
I hope you're speakin' for me, if I'm ever speechless
Cause I'mma be you
Even though you're not here to be with
I hope I see these gangsters actin' like teachers
Wake up out they sleep, dare to dream
In a world so Martin Luther King-less
And to my hero Heron, Gil Scott
In a discourse with Baldwin
On a jet plane with no fear for fallin'
But wishin' it never lands
Reminiscent of the dream time
Presently en route to the rise of the machine time
Magazine times
With coffee more sugar and milk than coffee
Aborted rhymes, rotten beats, and failed hooks
Roads as bumpy as braille books
Fail cools, bad French, and mad push at the door
Gourmet food at the starving soiree
A choice of one easy woman at a time
I'll take three the hard way
Trying to be as abstract as possible
And vulgar, the more shocking the more profitable
A baby fed molten gold
And sat upon a pedestal promote getting called 24 carot souls
How to describe this
Insightful remarks such as the best thing I've ever heard is silence
Some more technically impressive
In a faux Spanish romantic hues of a Marxist dialectic
Pleasing to the critics, but pointless is the common passerby
Might as well not even exist, not even a bit
In the event of my demise give everything I prize to the poor
And to the oppressors, I leave a war
And so on and so forth

Here is a must see vid of his if u haven't seen b4.

He actually commented 2 hours ago on this youtube vid, it's got a bunch of thumbs up already. Here is the comment he posted:

"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

Not similar to the previous two but they go hand and hand and unfortunately we our seeing this right before our very eyes yet the masses have been too dumbed down and blinded to see it.

Okay........so, if

Obama had said shit while Gaza was getting bombed, am I to understand that this "entertainer" would not "ain't vote for him?" This dufus is just as brainwashed as 3/4 or more of his race in this country who truly believe that black Americans today in 2013 are an oppressed minority. The only reason Palestinians are even a blip on his worldview radar is because he's Muslim (although, I do believe most Muslim clerics would consider his music and language to be unislamic).

Why is it necessary to say

Why is it necessary to say he's a Muslim? Is it for the media to discredit what he said? I dont pay attention to buzzfeed and gatewaypundit, but from what I gather they are neocon / zionist outlets. Try not to give them traffic.

"Words I Never Said" by Lupe Fiasco featuring Skylar Grey 2011
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22l1sf5JZD0

It's so loud inside my head
With words that I should have said
As I drown in my regrets
I can't take back the words I never said
I can't take back the words I never said

I really think the war on terror is a bunch of bullshit
Just a poor excuse for you to use up all your bullets
How much money does it take to really make a full clip?
9/11, Building 7, did they really pull it?

Uh, and a bunch of other cover ups
Your child's future was the first to go with budget cuts
If you think that hurts them, wait, here comes the uppercut
The school was garbage in the first place, that's on the up and up

Keep you at the bottom, but tease you with the upper crust
You get it, then they move it, so you never keeping up enough
If you turn on TV, all you see's a bunch of what-the-fucks
Dude is dating so-and-so, blabbering 'bout such and such

And that ain't Jersey Shore, homie that's the news
And these the same people supposedly telling us the truth
Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn Beck is a racist
Gaza Strip was getting bombed, Obama didn't say shit

That's why I ain't vote for him, next one either
I'ma part of the problem, my problem is I'm peaceful
And I believe in the people
Yeah

It's so loud inside my head
With words that I should have said
As I drown in my regrets
I can't take back the words I never said

Now we can say it ain't our fault if we never heard it
But if we know better, then we probably deserve it
Jihad is not a holy war, where's that in the worship?
Murdering is not Islam, and you are not observant

And you are not a Muslim
Israel don't take my side, 'cause look how far you've pushed them
Walk with me into the ghetto, this where all the kush went
Complain about the liquor store, but what you drinking liquor for?

Complain about the gloom, but when'd you pick a broom up?
Just listening to Pac ain't gon' make it stop
A rebel in your thoughts, ain't gon' make it halt
If you don't become an actor, you'll never be a factor

Pills with million side effects, take 'em when the pain's felt
Wash them down with diet soda, killin' off your brain cells
Crooked banks around the world would gladly give a loan today
So if you ever miss payment they can take your home away

It's so loud inside my head
With words that I should have said
As I drown in my regrets
I can't take back the words I never said, never said
I can't take back the words I never said

I think that all the silence is worse than all the violence
Fear is such a weak emotion, that's why I despise it
We scared of almost everything, afraid to even tell the truth
So scared of what you think of me, I'm scared of even telling you

Sometimes I'm like the only person I feel safe to tell it to
I'm locked inside a cell in me, I know that there's a jail in you
Consider this your bailing out, so take a breath, inhale a few
My screams is finally getting free, my thoughts is finally yelling through

It's so loud inside my head
With words that I should have said
As I drown in my regrets
I can't take back the words I never said

Lupe Fiasco and Skylar Grey on Letterman

About a year ago Lupe and Skylar performed a haunting, searing rap-rock ballad, Words I Never Said, (I see the lyrics posted below) lamenting lost chances to dissent and protest the direction of society. I found myself enthralled, chills down my back. Seen with the video, it leaves no unanswered questions in the listener's mind about their overwhelming feelings of alienation from the surveillance/police state. Lupe is for real.

bwhahahahaha

Good for you lupe. So glad to see some people awake in the music industry!

I think he is a great guy

For those of you arguing about him in the comments below, I can't say I know where he stands on social issues. However, I know for a fact he is very against the foreign policy and he has talked about the use of drones in a couple of his songs. He is a very educated man. He is also a devout muslim. He doesn't smoke or drink and he tries to educate people in his music. I believe he is very underrated and talented. These are the lyrics from his song ITAL (Roses) where he mentions drone use.

Called the president a terrorist
Corporate sponsors like, how the fuck you gon’ embarrass us?
Ain’t my fault, I was just repeatin’ this
Professor Emeritus from America
But my tone was like an Afghani kid without a home
Blew that bitch up with a drone
An Iraqi with no daddy, Palestinian throwing stones
The fuck you think they call him, I’mma leave that all alone
Cause this, the focus on this new shit is that hopeless
Place that I was born into systematic brokeness
Took that downpression and developed it to dopeness
It’s that great American rap-rap ferocious

With all due respect, I will no longer be a voting prostitute for Constitution rejecting harlots.

Official statement:

We are staunch supporters of free speech, and free political speech. This was not about his opinions. Instead, after a bizarrely repetitive, jarring performance that left the crowd vocally dissatisfied...

Yeah, right, uh-huh...the crowd wasn't properly entertained, that's why he was removed...sure...because I am sure ga-ga was brilliant...

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.
Ron Paul - The Revolution

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

then why were they throwing their hands up and yelling "LUPE!"

the only thing that killed it was the lights and the security guard raiding the stage.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right. -Henry Ford

We should try & use anything that might be helpful

Getting some anti war protests going, as happened with Vietnam, would be a large step in the right direction.

The Dems as well as the GOP have been brainwashed by the media.

If a Republican President had done even half of the things that Obama has done there would be a massive UPROAR from the left.

The neocons wanted Obama to win because he quietens domestic dissent for the wars.

They also wanted him to win because there has been no outcry for his explicit actions in making large banks above the law and giving the large banks a $40bn a month taxpayer bailout with QE3.

The losses that the Fed makes from buying impaired mortgage loans at a far greater price than their worth will be offset against the 3% interest they are making for holding $2.8tn of debt on their balance sheet. The interest would otherwise be returned to the Treasury & taxpayers.

The Fed's balance sheet will grow to about $4tn by the end of 2013 so they will be able to give the big banks even more money.

The neocons wanted a close result so that both parties could blame the other for the state of the country, when they are both in agreement that the country should be deliberately ruined.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

Wow. Awesome, spoke the truth in the King's courtyard and he wasn't assassinated on the spot.

Yeah, well I'm disappointed that the President took the opportunity to use the corpses of twenty dead children to make a political statement.

Cyril's picture

Sad. Lame. Shameful.

Well, he wasn't quite "thrown off of stage", maybe at most "WARMLY recommended to leave, and to do so DILIGENTLY. Accompanied to the exit."

However, I'm wondering how that felt for him and his idea of his right to exercising HIS OWN free speech?

That is sad. That is lame. That is shameful.

I'm no fan at all of rap, but I lend a ear when these artists and others have something political to say or to denounce. Then, it better be something truthful or intelligent.

In that case, he was sharing a bit about Obama's deception.

And OH ! SURPRISE ! SURPRISE ! SURPRISE !

HIS OWN "artistic community" asks him TO LEAVE.

Call it, say, the "Mono-Thinking Mob Law".

Quod Erat Demonstrandum.

He is really smart. I doubt

He is really smart. I doubt he was surprised in the least. If anything he was surprised that they let him stay on stage for so long. The story apparently is that he just kept playing the one song where he says that he didn't vote for Obama for 30 minutes straight, over and over- at an Obama inauguration party.

The irony is in what he sings and then what we see. lol thugs up on stage to stop him. Very BIG thugs too. I like how he said I'm part of the problem because I'm peaceful.
