Is Obama a bigot? The rich might say so...

"We do not believe that in this country, freedom is reserved for the lucky, or happiness for the few."

Obama - Inaugural Address 01/21/13

So instead, we should make the collective happy by taking from the few? Is it moral for the Federal & State governments to take 63% of Phil Michelson's money? Especially when some people pay no taxes, govt employees cash in on lucrative pensions, congress votes themselves raises.

It's often said, you should never let a majority vote on the rights of a minority. Well, Obama & Dems vigorously preach this principle when it comes to gay rights. Why doesn't the same right to the pursuit of happiness apply to those who work hard to achieve the American dream? Why are the rich any less deserving of protection from bigotry?

This country, the constitution, and our government was formed to promote individual liberty. Not for a "collective" to pick which individuals prosper.

Obama is a bigot, preaching against bigotry.

It's just rhetoric.

Ask the working poor or upper middle class. They all got tax hikes. I haven't asked a 'wealthy' person yet. They probably got more loop holes. Wealth is not trickling down, it's still floating to the top. We live in a banana republic....period.

I Think The Thiking Goes Something Like The Following

The rich an "oppressed minority"? Impossible -- they're rich!

"Bipartisan: both parties acting in concert to put both of their hands in your pocket."-Rothbard

Henry Hazlitt

"It is a dubious moral principle, an abuse of democracy, and an invasion of minority rights, for a majority to impose on a minority a higher tax rate than it accepts for itself." http://mises.org/daily/6241/Soak-the-Rich

As bad or worse than the progressive income tax is the estate tax. Talk about the majority sticking it to the minority.

"Bipartisan: both parties acting in concert to put both of their hands in your pocket."-Rothbard

I think that's powerful verbiage

I wish the GOP puppets in office could arm themselves with logic and sound philosophical arguments like this. Instead, they're being steam rolled by democrats buying votes through pity
