Was anybody here a Bachmann fan?

2012 GOP contenders have no regrets as they watch Obama inauguration

Former GOP presidential contenders Newt Gingrich and Rep. Michele Bachmann had hoped to be taking the oath of office on Monday, but they were all smiles as they lined up to watch President Obama deliver an Inaugural address for the second time.

Bachmann (R-Minn.) was snapping photos with her iPhone as she waited in a procession line in the Capitol with other members of Congress.

“This is history,” she told her colleagues.

Bachmann was briefly a front-runner for the Republican nomination after she won the Iowa straw poll in August 2011. She faded in the polls soon after, however, and dropped out of the race in early 2012.

Far from regretful, Bachmann told The Hill it was “a thrill” to watch Obama’s second inauguration.

Her popularity dropped off suddenly after debating Ron Paul

- I'll never forget that one... "She turns the law on it's head... This is war propaganda!". Then she was done.

She voted against the debt

She voted against the debt ceiling increase, military intervention in Libya and more foreign aid to Muslim countries. Probably the 3rd best candidate in 2012 after Ron and Johnson, but that's not saying much, considering how terrible the rest of the Republican field was.

She was very hawkish on Iran, she absolutely hates Muslims. Her stance on civil liberties has been horrific throughout her political career, even when Napolitano confronted her about it. She voted for federal stimulus. She chickened out on the Boehner vote, even though she had previously handed in a signed statement to Huelskamp that she would stand with the conservatives against Boehner.

Am I a fan? No. Would I vote for her in a presidential primary? No way. Would I reluctantly vote for her in a congressional general election over a socialist? Probably.

She's trying to clean up her

She's trying to clean up her image which was totally tarnished in the election. IMO, She's obviously trying to position herself as a moderate Republican.

Yes. I was early on because Bachmann had hosted Town Hall...

...Meetings in Minnesota with Ron Paul as guest back in 2009 after his presidential campaign.

She was most respectful to him back then.

But in 2012, she turned on him like a snake and became one of his harshest critics (especially on foreign affairs).

What a turncoat snake Bachmann is.

In this video, Bachmann hosts a "Young Americans for Liberty" meeting with Dr. Paul in 2009:

When Fascism goes to sleep, it checks under the bed for Ron Paul!

Nope, never been that drunk

.

Loved it when Bachman threw Perry under the bus...

She fought well in the debates and stepped up to the plate not pulling any punches. Ron Paul was too classy to really attack hard. I saw Bachman as the sacrificial attack dog.

I respect her for attacking Perry on vaccine mandates. Well done, Bachman! But no, I was never a fan. I only applaud the ideas that share my agenda...individual freedom and liberty!

Her foreign policy sucked! And her social ideas of homophobia was disturbing.

I was and still am.

Although, I never entertained the thought of voting for her before becoming a Ron Paul supporter, Michele Bachmann was the only candidate other than Ron Paul that opposed raising the debt ceiling in 2011 and along with Ron Paul voted against it. She was the only candidate that managed to give a clear refutation of Cain's 9-9-9 tax plan. Others would have been able to as well, but, you've got to be able to speak quickly and understandably in debates - something she was better at than most of the others. She and Rick Perry were the only other two Republican candidates who were serious about balancing our budget within a finite time without raising taxes.

I viewed her foreign policy with as much fear as Neocons viewed Ron Paul's, but, she's a good Conservative on most domestic issues, especially on right-to-life and the economy. She didn't have a chance though, because she doesn't have Palin or Hilary's personality. It was fun watching her run Timmy Pawlenty outta Iowa though.

Dang

That gave me a laugh.

Now off to fix dinner.

Every night for the past week there have been some zingers here. I've been able to kick the prozac, pentobarb, the jack daniels and vicodin with cross tops, lipitor, viagra and greenies chaser cocktail.

The pharmacy is pretty pissed off though and they are threatening to have Napoleon the XIV take me away if I don't fill the death script.

hehe

:)

The daily paul: better than the best stuff doctors can kill you with!

Side effects may include belly aching laughter and may render one sane for a brief period of time.

“No, I’m thinking about the debt ceiling right now.”

Bachman gets the program and picks up on the media talking points.

I can only imagine the off air discussion of who is going to play the good cop and bad cop, to show after the fact we can all come together for a great collective that protects all of the 'little people'.

People like this are a breed unto their own.

I minused this

because I couldn't stand her neo-con, gay hating spew!

Bachman typifies what is wrong with the GOP & why the majority of voters in this country will NOT vote Republican if someone like Bachman is the nominee.

Michelle can take a picture with her cell phone of my butt as I fart in her general direction!

Like her father, she smelled of elderberries. :)

Republican Party

I am beginning to believe that the Republican Party never wanted to defeat obama. THey put up two gimps, and they don't stand up. I am wanting to just go NPA and return to the GOP long enough to vote for Rand Paul in the primary...i'm so sick of them. They are just ...democrats.

NO

none of them here...try the onion.

I was a fan of the other Ms. Bachmann:

her gay-bashing clearly-gay husband. That S*** has SNL skit written all over it. Oh the irony.

Remember Bachmann's

favorite line?

"I'm going to make sure Obama is a ONE - TERM - PRESIDENT!"

That

was also McConnell and Boehner's line as well.

Yeah but

they were not in the presidential debates saying it like a cheerleader.

bachman was just part...

... of the establishment that collectively beat Ron Paul. She pretty much bought the Iowa straw poll and did her best to make the tea party look like a loony fringe political group. This isn't a surprise to me.

misguided

I heard she failed to become a national delegate to RNC, and a Paul delegate stepped down so she could be a delegate. To show "unity" or something.

"A thrill"? Yuck...

Well, I'm glad Rand Paul chose to spend the day in South Carolina instead - I'd guess Ron Paul was far from DC too.
