Justin Amash > Gary Johnson > Rand Paul?

Is Gary Johnson a better candidate to support in 2016 than Rand Paul?

Rand Paul supports sanctions on Iran and won't rule out military action. That's almost a deal breaker for me. Ron Paul has said sanctions are an act of war:

http://www.dailypaul.com/247574/ron-paul-iran-sanctions-are-...

Gary Johnson is also against sanctions on Iran:

I'm beginning to think Ron Paul won't run in 2016. The only reason he hasn't ruled it out is because he would probably do it if we asked him to, but his goal was never to be president. It was to deliver his very important message, even if being president was the best way to ensure that. However, he has effectively delivered the message now and will continue to do that.

So we need to figure out who to get behind for 2016. If we're going to fix the country we may as well try to do it as best we can. What about Justin Amash? What are the gripes against him so far?

Well

lets see here...hmmm, its so hard to figure out..i mean..sense Justin and Gary have ZERO chance of actually winning the oval and advancing at least SOME of our goals i would have to go with the liberty minded son of Ron Paul who can make things happen and can garner much more than 1% of the vote...its simple math really! If you want to advance some of our goals and get some of this garbage that's been happening the last 12 years reversed then you will vote for the liberty minded candidate that can make that happen...OR you can waste your time and the country away backing a sure loss ....Backing Gary or Justin while Rand is in the mix would be like if your house was on fire..you running in and trying to save the french fries....not very smart and counter productive....Have a nice day... :)

Neither Johnson, nor Rand.

Amash is too young.

If Dr. Paul is up for it again, I'll gladly support him.

Assuming he doesn't choose to run again, The Judge is my choice.

Amash is WHAT?

Justin too young. Ron too old.

Justin will be age eligible in 2016.

It is bad enough when opposition plays age discrimination games, why would you or anyone here do the same?

It is up to us to change the hearts and minds of the people. Justin is solid, never missed a vote, we should be promoting him like the dickens.

Today at Campaign for Liberty (gun show), I handed out reams of Justin Amash flyers, just as I have been doing at every event since November. People around here like him a lot and feel hopeful. This should be happening everywhere. Ron Paul himself stated that it will take an entire generation to affect the change that we seek. Justin fits that bill perfectly.

So with your and others attitude, I and others should forget Justin just because you personally think he is too young? I hate to break it to you, but I ain't stopping.

Yep, thats me the evil age discriminator.

Justin just barely started his second congressional term, give him a little more time to gain experience and prove himself.

Whoa dude, lol!

Hey Josh, there are no hard feelings and I certainly do not think that you are evil, lol.

In case you don't remember, you and I worked very hard together on the nation-wide Tampa delegates. I want to thank you for everything that you have done :-)

Keep in touch, I am sure that we will kick ass together again, IF we can decide on a candidate. As long as it's Justin, lol ;-)

Man, I'd give anything to reclaim 10 or so years.

What did I say that was so offensive?

3 downvotes?

I didn't think this was controversial.

bring it on....here ...Ill say it.....

Ron Paul or no one!

Hey everyone

thanks so much for commenting! My goal wasn't to promote one person over another. Rather to have exactly what happened happen: people discuss key issues they have for or against a particular person.

The reason is because politics can be about momentum. The liberty supporters Ron Paul has galvanized are becoming a strong force impacting politics. If Ron Paul isn't running for president then his political leadership will be somewhat diminished. If we, for the most part, coalesce around a liberty candidate now, by 2016 they will probably have a LOT of clout, whether deserved or not.

So my goal is giving people something to think about regarding ALL possible choices. Even if it's only to show we can't agree unless it's Ron Paul, which is something to think about, or show Rand Paul he doesn't get a blank check of support simply because of his father.

I also thank people for having a thick skin! Politics can be emotional.

It Shouldn't Be Difficult to Find Someone Better Than Obama

The question, as always, is whether the public will be ready to vote for him or her.

I will be a delegate to the LP nominating convention, again (most likely), and I see my job is to make sure we have someone who is not a statist.

It looks like Gary Johnson is starting his national tour, soon, so that's certainly one possibility.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

The GJ trolls are at it again.

I am not referring to the Op poster, I don't know if he is one or not.

But they are here voting en messe and en bloc just like they were during the GJ vs. RP write in campaign here on DP.

Here we go again. Let the GJ dividers begin again I guess.

I can't be divided.

I am for Liberty :-)

Priorities

rpcongress,

The 2016 Presidential election???

With four more years of O'bomber and HIS wretched Presidency coming up, can't you think of more important work for us to do, at least for the next two or three years, than that?

We need to

do MANY things, but the presidency is included. I think it has to be. And we need to start early.

Become a GOP PC and/or County Central Committee Member

or kiss 2016 goodbye.

Simple as that.

I seriously doubt that Ron

I seriously doubt that Ron Paul will run for president again. I don't think that he really ever wanted to be president. Of course, that is one of the reasons that I supported him. I think that the whole Justin Bieber thing is where things went off the rails.

Drain the swamp!

Justin Bieber? What are you

Justin Bieber? What are you talking about?

I'll tell you right now Justin Bieber had nothing to do with what happened with Ron Paul this past year.

Eek.

I guess that I should not post when I have the flu. I was sort of out of it earlier this week. I think that I meant Jesse Benton.

another waste of time

another waste of time thread.

who cares what other people think? if you like someone more than someone else ... good for you

all threads like this do is start a shit storm of people who wanna trash talk one person or another and try to persuade people over to their viewpoint.

I think they're all great. I'm not a single-issue voter. I look at each of those people individually, and I expect all three could do great things in various areas. Rand is great for the free market, ending bloated govt agencies like the TSA, and scaling down our foreign involvements. GJ could help end the war on drugs and balance the budget. Amash could help end the Fed and restore civil liberties.

Neither GJ nor Rand are worth supporting.

In sacrificing the core principles of the liberty movement for the sake of political expediency, they've both proven to be nothing but the same old blowhard politicians. We need to support people who subscribe to the full substance of this movement, instead of just watering it down into Tea Party-approved talking points and ignoring the issues that may not be popular at the moment.

I don't play, I commission the league.

I think

calling GJ and Rand the "same old blowhard politicians" is taking it too far. That's just my opinion. I certainly wish they were 100% of Ron Paul instead of 80-90% but that's apparently not how they see things. That's still leaps and bounds better than what we currently have.

You are the worst kind of person in the world

You KNOW people are being wrongly imprisoned and detained
You KNOW people are being murdered without a trial
You KNOW people are being tortured and raped.
You KNOW civilians are being slaughtered en masse.

And you won't do anything abou it, because of your immortal prioritization of honesty over human life.

Freedom in our lifetime! - fiol.us

Wow, overreaction much?

If this nation didn't spend DECADES electing liars and charlatans who just "play the political game" and "go along to get along," extraordinary rendition and unreasonable detainment wouldn't be an issue and there'd be no such thing as the Daily Paul.

Guess what? I don't give a shit about how good Rand and GJ are at "playing the game," because this "game" has ruined our economy, eroded our civil liberties, entagled us in expensive and unconstitutional nation-building, put our Constitution through the shredder and destroyed our reputation, all to enrich politicians and their cronies. If that's what you want, then YOU are the worst type of person in the world. And in that case, you can take your sanctimony and shove it right up your ass.

I don't play, I commission the league.
