F the system!Submitted by The Rebel Poet on Thu, 01/24/2013 - 01:53
I have seen a surprising amount of threads/comments here at DP saying we should circumvent or ignore "the system" (our bankster government).
Usually they say something about how voting "legitimizes" the system. Often they write of only being governed by consent or withdrawing their consent.
There is one major flaw which I believe makes these ideas, and their cousins, both powerless and endangering: our bankster state still has gold and guns.
Larry Norman once sang "I wonder who would lead us, if none of us would vote," but as Glen Motch in The Campaign said: "when you have the money, nothing is unpredictable." So what if we all just left the system, stopped voting, stopped obeying laws, stopped paying taxes, maybe even formed our own peaceful government? What would they do? They certainly wouldn't capitulate so easily.
I'm not saying that peaceful revolution isn't necessary sometimes even to the point of facing death, but are the American people really ready for that? If you don't live to fight another day and you don't destroy your enemy, it will all have been in vain.
