allies in what?

illegal wars.

Ron says they rarely talk politics even though people keep insisting that they must.

because he is smart

his father did the same thing, using a pro israel stance to condemn US military action, foreign aid and arms sales, instead of condone it.

very important to note that he says not to give fighters to potentially anti-israel countries, and then won't have to give so many to israel

Rand Paul loves one country, the USA!

Okay

this is where Kerry showed his ignorance, as many politicians now do.

Rand Paul asks Senator Kerry if he agrees with what Obama, as a candidate, said about a president, under the Constitution, NOT being able to unilaterally authorize a military attack.

Kerry responds by saying "I respect that.. look you can be absolutist and apply it to every circumstance. The problem is it just doesn't work. There are some instances, when 10,000 people are about to be wiped out by a brutal dictator, and you need to make a quick judgement about engagement you certainly can't rely on a congress that has proven itself unwilling to move after weeks and months sometimes..."

This is where Kerry is wrong, and something Ron Paul warns about, which is nibbling away at the Constitution. Of course you're supposed to be absolutist about it. If something "doesn't work" then amending it is the correct and authorized route. Short of that you don't unilaterally make decisions picking and choosing what to follow and what not to. That's how things get out of whack.

As for a brutal dictator in another country that's not our problem unless the American people want it to be. And you can call for quick congressional action. The U.S. Senate voted 89-8 to approve legislation to avoid the fiscal cliff despite having only 3 minutes to read the 154-page bill, so don't argue "congress only moves slowly".

A president has the emergency power to DEFEND our country, as in "make war", but not "declare war". Kerry and politicians read more here:

To your "doesn't work" comment

Well said. Felt like I was reading something I wrote while reading your comments.

This was my argument and should have been everyone's on universal healthcare. If you want healthcare amend the constitution and make it a power of the government. Then pass your law. Nobody's stopping you just do it the legal way, with an amendment and a majority vote.

How did Rand get this

How did Rand get this appointment? Why would the hawks put a guy like Rand in the CFR. It's like they put a thorn in their own side. He's doing great, but seems a little out of place.

Could be part of his payoff

John "Fake Purple Heart" Kerry.

What a grotesque insult to actual Purple Heart recipients everywhere.

I watched enough to make me appreciate Rand Paul even more than I already did...but then I had to stop because Kerry's voice and lies raised my blood pressure to unhealthy levels.

Go Rand Go!

Rand deserves our support.

Is it true that you and Bush were both members of Skull & Bones?

C'mon, admit it. You wish he'd asked it too... lol!
Rand opened strong, got himself a couple brownies right out of the gate - he had a pretty good stack going. Then he knocked the plate off the table with his Israel butt-kissing. Back to no brownies for Rand. You say "That is just how politics is played." I say that is just how brownie games are played. He gets to say and do whatever he wants, but I am not supporting someone who pretends Israel is an ally.

Don't be that short sighted

Freedom movement has this terrible label of being anti-semitic, which is undeserved and like so many negative labels completely false - however, you should be glad that Rand is doing good work alleviating this "popular view" without compromising any of his principles.

Exactly right. Israel

Exactly right. Israel controls a lot of our government one way or another. Rand knows the score.

I'm not short sighted.

This game has gone on too long. Rand can play politics, I will play the brownie game. If 2016 rolls around and he has a plate of brownies, I might consider voting for him, although I REALLY do not feel it is ethical or moral to vote in rigged elections...
Any way, Rand plays his game his way, I play my game my way. I remember the USS Liberty, I know who my enemies are.

Thanks! I didn't think of

Thanks! I didn't think of that.

Kerry is a capable man.

Thank you for posting this. This was the first time I've ever seen Sen. Kerry answer important questions and I think he did a great job of answering Sen. Paul's critical and relevant questions. Sen. Kerry took every question very seriously and gave very clear and informed answers. Obviously Sen. Kerry is still someone who thinks wars and arms races are somehow normal, but I'm glad to at least for the moment have the sense that he's not blowing smoke...

Missed that video

I was watching the one that the OP linked.

I like those serious creases

I like those serious creases between his eyebrows when he considers questions and gives answers. I always say, someone who looks that serious, especially if they have a deep voice and a nice suit, well, that guy's a straight shooter, by god.

I don't think we watched the same video. Kerry, sounded to me like he just stated obvious, already known facts and described the situation ("...All Americans feel that...blah blah"). He has a similar style to Obama's method of saying little or nothing much at all.

He's just a smooth operator

Nothing was done to speak up for that student

John Kerry could've said, "It's okay." and answered his questions. But no, everyone just let it happen and then made fun.

I didn't see or hear anyone read that young man his rights or let him know why he was being arrested even though he asked over and over and over again.

That is a sad testimony to what Americans have allowed domestic enemies to do to America.

Good Lord, after all I've seen I think I'm naive.

For Kerry not to come down to the man's rescue is in my mind proof of the conspiracy. I still think that if we know as much as we think we do, it's a pretty dumb question to ask the conspirators to admit who they are.

:)

No, a naive man would have argued that the kid was disrespectful and Kerry did the right thing to ignore him. You are the victim of attempted mass hypnosis, and you just woke up a little more. Congratulations.
Do you remember that year? The "phrase of the year" became "Don't tase me bro" and all of us laughed... The video that hit the TV was edited down just to show him being "subdued" after "disrupting" the event.

Don't taze me, bro

Indeed, I remember that well, although I've had no TV since 2001 and stay away from most mass media, which means it really infiltrated the vernacular insidiously. I was shocked to see that this is where it came from. This is one of the most flagrant scenes of a police state I have ever seen. It's one thing to round up a group of innocent people on suspicion of breaking a stupid law but quite another to essentially kidnap and abuse a man for doing nothing more than asking questions emphatically.

He did a great job of

He did a great job of bringing up the foreign aid issue and how we went into Libya without Congressional approval.
