Geico Canceling Insurance Because Customers Work In Firearms Industry

An SD reader has sent us his notification of cancellation of auto insurance from GEICO effective 1/22/13 due to the fact that ”the vehicle does not meet our underwriting guidelines because it is used in conjunction with a company that deals in the weapons industry”.
First Bank of America began confiscating the funds of firearms dealers, now GEICO believes it can cancel service for anyone working in the firearms industry. Who needs gun bans when the the banksters are more than willing to do the dirty work and pull strong armed corruption Chicago style stunts?

They started as the insurance company to beltway employees and broadened their base. You could find a better insurance company to send your money too.

Sounds to me like someone knows that the vehicles of gunmakers may be having a high rate of "accidents" in the future.

If your a customer of GEICO,

If your a customer of GEICO, it's time to encourage them to change their ridiculous policy or lose another customer. Granted, GEICO probably thinks they're above the storm. OK, just do your part and leave. ;)

Follow the money...

Geico is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, which is controlled by Warren Buffett. I am unable to find any link in the corporate holdings of BH and firearms manufacturers. Anyone?

free market anyone? Geico can do whatever they want. In a free country all gun owners should cancel their geico insurance and get something else in a protest.

Insurance is a highly

Insurance is a highly regulated and highly limited market. It absolutely is not a free market.

You get to buy car insurance only from companies your state government permits you to purchase from. I bet your state even mandates the types of policies you can purchase as well. That is not freedom.

Perhaps in the world of ideas.

But free markets don't work in a world that is not free.

Free markets can not exist in a society that allows crime bosses to coerce and terrorize businessmen. I think that is what is happening here.
