Rand Paul: An attack on Israel is an attack on the US

Take a look at this video and tell me if you still think that Rand Paul is as much of a true patriot as his Father:

He is doing the dance of the Neoconservative right. He's nothing more than a traitor. You vote for this turkey, you might as well be voting for George W. Bush.

Still got my vote. And my money.

Ya'll need to quit making

Ya'll need to quit making such a debacle about this. You're making fools of yourself. Just stop.

TUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUBE!

Predictable

.

I personally support and trust Rand ...

... but I hope you haters keep on hatin', for reasons we (people like me) should stop saying publicly, for Christ's sake, and for reasons that this post is so ridiculously, yet necessarily, vague.

;-)

Just PLEASE keep it on the DP, PLEASE vote for him in 2016 anyway (could he be any worse than what we've had and what we'll undoubtedly get instead?), and PLEASE don't go out of your way (no more than talkin' shit about him on the DP, that is) to keep him out of the White House. That's all I ask (beg) of you folks.

I'll leave it at that.

Work for pay, pay for freedom
Fuck 'em all, we don't need 'em

Who's gonna attack Israel and their 300 nuclear weapons???

.

NO ONE, AND RAND KNOWS THIS!

It’s Israel that does the attacking – their favorite being the unarmed civilians of Gaza. They tried Lebanon back in ’06, and got their asses handed to them, so they’ll most likely stick with killing the women and children in Gaza going forward

HOWEVER, Israel has huge ambitions. They want to dominate and control the Middle East by toppling the governments of the largest countries and installing “US controlled” (i.e., Israel controlled) puppets so that the smaller counties will fall in line. The problem is that the IDF can’t even beat a band of rag-tag bandits in Lebanon. So what do they do? They enlist the blood and treasure of the American people to do their fighting for them via "the war on terror". If we refuse, as I’m sure a President Paul most defiantly would (he's not going to attack Iran!!), case closed. Israel would have to negotiate with its neighbors or else be cut off from commerce, water, oil and other natural resources.

In the end, Rand will get the neo-con Israel first vote without having to give them shit in return.

Intelligent?

Anyone who goes through medical school and residency HAS TO BE INTELLIGENT! Playing politics is a very nasty part of being a politician, that serves at least two terms. The longer he is in DC, the longer people will hear a voice of reason, intelligence, and common sense! Just because I don't agree with someone does not make me or you less intelligent!

There are many Christians that agree with this, and are also in agreement with being friends with Israel. Considering that we worship a special Jew, how could we hate those responsible for our path to salvation? In this country, so far, people cannot be told what religion to practice. Atheists, in the same way, have a right to not worship. Politics, although separated from religion, by the first amendment cannot remove a politician's beliefs. They are ingrained in our being. Expecting anything less, is not based on the reality that our world is.

Politics don't need

to remove a politician's beliefs. Ron Paul is openly Christian, but has said regarding any government office his first loyalty is to the Constitution.

Rand

I saw him on NOVA PBS 'Rise of the Drones'

Good episode imo. I think you can buy it for 25 bucks.

donvino

So I did some searching

First, read the original article in full context.
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2013/01/10/Rand-Paul-Trie...

Second I did not find the quote that Rand supposedly gave
"but what I think we should do is announce to the world – and I think it is pretty well known — that any attack on Israel will be treated as an attack on the United States." - Maybe it was another article, but maybe it is just 'hot air'.

I've never heard of Breitbart News until today so even if I find the quote, how can I know he actually said that?

However, I did a youtube search with Rand Paul and Israel and I found this.
http://youtu.be/XRRr78Fs-FE

I think calling him a traitor is baseless and childlike.

By all means, if I'm wrong and he said that find a credible source and post it here. I'd also like to see the context in which he said it.

Rand is talking Political Talk

to pick up the Christian right. However right or wrong the evangelicals may be on the matter there was a pervasive issue with them believing that RP was "anti-israel" and this was a deal breaker for most of them. There is a reason the establishment pushed the idea, because they knew it would drive a wedge between the Liberty folks, and the Evangelical right. The perception of Ron as anti-Israel cost him the nomination, and I am sure Ron (and Rand) knows it. I believe Ron didn't try too hard to dispel this idea because he probably didn;t really want to (certainly never expected to) be nominated. I believe Rand does want the nomination for real, and he knows an anti-Israel label will be the issue that can deny him the nomination so he is going out of his way to cut the accusation off before it can be made.

I stand corrected.

Someone politely showed me a link where he did say that. I appreciate that they took the time to correct me.

The video didn't show for me at first because of Ad block. I opened the video in another browser and saw him say that. I apologize.
Thanks for correcting me on this.

I can only speculate why he would say something like this. However, I still think he is one of the best senators that we currently have.

Here is a youtube link.

Thank you for that YouTube

TY!

I think maybe calling him a traitor is probably off base as well

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

Rand is NOT traitor

& please respect the Daily Paul founder/owner Michael Nystrom whose great work helped establish the Liberty Movement as a powerful force that it is today.

And you do know if Rand were

And you do know if Rand were to say he wouldn't protect Israel, he'd be banished from the inner circle forever just like his father, right?

Unlike us here at the DP, the majority of Americans see Israel as a country we must protect -- especially within the GOP.

It would be political suicide for Rand to say anything else! Stop trying to divide this movement into pro and anti Rand! Rand has the backing of all the true fiscal conservatives in the GOP, which also includes the bulk of neocons. Rand is slowly warming those people up to a alternative foreign policy. Go look at his Facebook page, libertarians are constantly converting tea partiers and neocons to our side. Speaking of things like ending foreign aid and following the constitution for war are baby steps one must take. You can NOT just go out and say we don't need to be interventionists, that will lose his whole GOP base in an instant and BOOM, he's back in Ron's position.

Ron is no doubt guiding Rand through his decisions based off his own experience. If some of you could see it, Rand will be in a good position in 2016 with the majority of the GOP plus the Liberty movement.

For those who can't see that for what it is and then try to divide the movement because of it, shame on you.

Rand VOLUNTEERED THIS

Rand VOLUNTEERED THIS STATEMENT because, IMHO, he believes it. If he had other views, but wanted to think strategically, there were other rhetorical ways to keep the neocons happy.

Being against helping Israel

Being against helping Israel ranks among one of the worst positions you can take in the GOP.

Regardless, his actions speak louder than words. The only thing big thing differing from his record and his fathers, is his one vote for Iran sanctions. Sanctions are something he and his father disagree on. But he was also the ONLY vote, 98-1, when the Senate voted to allow the President to "do anything necessary to against Iran".

You can believe what you want, but the his record speaks for itself. And he's using rhetoric to reel in the Tea Partiers and neocons to slowly bring them to our side. You must see that.

Correction. Rand voted

Correction. Rand voted TWICE for Iran sanctions. He also voted for a No Fly Zone in Libya. Of course, his failure to oppose INCREASED aid to Israel is another notable difference with Ron.

Indeed

The fact that people can call Rand a neocon with a straight face tells me these people have not bothered to look at his record, and base their opinions on secondary articles about Rand, which are often biased. It's the Bizarro World version of what the MSM did to Ron.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

If Rand actually did what he

If Rand actually did what he said, would he be a neocon? Sacrificed American lives for Israel?

I Did NOT Watch your video because......

As a human, show some respect for others.

I could understand if you opened this piece up politely and got into it with someone, but you opened up talking down to others right off the bat.

Sorry, I don't play that game.

What the? > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MTIwY3_-ks

another troll attack on the DP....

...between the Alex Jones trolls and this, this forum cannot be sustained without severe censorship showing CLEAR BIAS for libert solutions....

I urge Michael, draft up a disclaimer to blanket explain your reasons for nuclear bombing all pseudo-stealth attempt to plant seeds meant to fracture the movement, and give neo-cons ammunition that we can't get our shit together and AGREE....

I support censorship of blatant divisive posts, that are not meant to direct us towards solutions...we're in competition with right-wing supposed MSM to drive all elected officials away from Statism....period....

It took me YEARS

to change my mind and attitude and perspective on life, the role of Government, foreign policy, and monetary policy. Years of battling my own thoughts to eradicate the neocon from myself, as many of us in this revolution had to do. How dare you sir call the best senator by far right now a traitor?

My god dude, we have much bigger fish to fry, also know as the tyrants running both party's, than cooking our own.

Rand Paul is exactly what this revolution needs. Someone who can BUILD the coalitions. Get on board or GTFO!!!

Face facts you purist, Ron Paul FAILED at building coalitions. He was an architect that helped myself and millions of other Americans break barriers in our own minds.

This Revolution needs one of us in POWER so we can eradicate that POWER. Stop barking from the armchair and tryout for the quarterback position.

Exactly

Feinstein is a traitor. Reid is a traitor, McConnel is a spinless bastard, and maybe a traitor. Rand so far is acting slimy, but his actions speak louder. He's a long way from traitor yet......

This...

"This Revolution needs one of us in POWER so we can eradicate that POWER." is a very ironic statement. Power is dangerous, and no one that has it handed to them EVER wants to give it back. If history proves anything, it's that you can only trust yourself. I do agree however with the rest of the statement "Stop barking from the armchair and tryout for the quarterback position." We could all do a little more.

And hey, Keep breaking barriers my friend! :)

"What light is to the eyes - what air is to the lungs - what love is to the heart, liberty is to the soul of man."
-Robert Green Ingersoll

You need to take a look around...

...and see what planet you're on. Power respects only power. Those currently in power will not give it up unless they are forced to give it up. Unless you plan on launching a violent revolution, the only way to force them to give up power is to beat them in elections. Thus there is nothing "ironic" about libertarians (rightfully wary of power) trying to put their own into power. This is the only realistic means we have of saving ourselves from encroaching tyranny.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

"If ever...

"If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced PATRIOTS to prevent its ruin" -Samuel Adams

definition of patriot...

1.a person who loves, supports, and defends his or her country and its interests with devotion.
2.a person who regards himself or herself as a defender, especially of individual rights, against presumed interference by the federal government

Power only comes into play when you you are talking about empowering yourself as an individual. And from there...

"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds."

"What light is to the eyes - what air is to the lungs - what love is to the heart, liberty is to the soul of man."
-Robert Green Ingersoll

Then we are done.

There is no need to try if no one in this revolution has faith. I would rather have the chance than nothing at all. Because that power will be there regardless if Rand is the president or not. I'll take the son of Ron Paul and cross my fingers because the other option, ANY OTHER option is my freedom continuously being stripped away until I go from being an economic slave to a real slave.
