Rand Paul: An attack on Israel is an attack on the United States

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul took what very well could be considered his most pro-Israel stance yet, saying in an interview that an attack on Israel should be treated as an attack on the United States.

Asked whether the United States would stand with Israel and provide it foreign aid if the Jewish state were attacked by its enemies, Paul went a step further.

“Well absolutely we stand with Israel,” he said in an interview with Breitbart News, “but what I think we should do is announce to the world – and I think it is pretty well known — that any attack on Israel will be treated as an attack on the United States.”

Funny how you are all so quick to abandon the principles...

that Ron Paul championed.

Six months ago you would all be yelling "NO COMPROMISE!", now its "SAY ANYTHING TO GET ELECTED!".

Check out the Laissez-Faire Journal at LFJournal.com

"The State is a gang of thieves writ large." - Murray Rothbard

we weren't all yelling no compromise

i'd take a compromising ron paul in the white house any day! in fact i thought ron paul HAD compromised when he basically gave up on the campaign, and i was just waiting for the convention to see what they were going to give him in exchange for not going after Romney. i was prepared to vote for romney with a Paul VP

ron paul's presidential economic plan included saving social security and other things that weren't 100% libertarian. and his plan to end the fed was through competition not declaring it illegal and closing it down immediately

Well said

Seems Ron's teaching and example wasn't only lost on his son.

Rand - Mitt Romney for president - Paul is poison

I keep saying it. I will continue to warn everyone I can. This man is not one of us. He is not his father. He is not even a shadow of his father. His agenda is not liberty. His agenda is president Rand. And no the two agendas are not commingled. The liberty agenda is a tool Rand is using to achieve his goal - political power. Rand has seen firsthand the power and potency of the grassroots movement his father has created. Rand aims to harness this burgeoning political force. After all, he's in on the ground level. The liberty agenda is a means to an end for him. That is how he will use it. I admit I could be wrong about this. Someday I hope I will have to admit I spoke out of school. But I can see no other way to read his actions.

For the crowd that seeks to rationalize and give cover for Rand's mounting pile of lies, double speak, betrayals and displays of poor judgement, I offer this analogy:

Picture a young woman that works as a prostitute to make money to fund her missionary work promoting the gospel of Christ. This is in essence what the Rand apologists say that Rand is doing. He is in bed with, promoting, making deals with, aiding and abetting, the enemies of liberty - all for the purpose of promoting liberty! Brilliant! How does that work? It doesn't work. It only exposes Rand as a fraud. It only destroys his credibility. At best it dilutes the message. At worst it renders the message incoherent. This is the gospel message carried on the lips of an unrepentant prostitute. So much rubbish. This is Rand Paul.

Expect Rand to continue to apparently do good things for the liberty movement during his time as Senator. This is is M.O. The tea party libertarian. This is his schtick. This is how he hopes to con the next generation of would be conservatives, just like the neocons enslaved the well meaning but naive and jingoistic would be conservatives before us. In the end Rand will reveal that he is for sale, again and again. His apologists will keep pointing to this good bill he wrote and that good vote he gave and make the "he's the best that we've got and he's working stealth" plea.

But he isn't one of us. He's just a whore.

Yep/

Rand was poison before he came out on behalf of Romney. I think people saw the name, Paul, and thought he'd be his dad or enough like his dad for us to get what we need.
It's not the case and never was.

And sheeples come in all different colors; red, blue, white...

We had SOME proof, but RNC does not care about Rules n Laws- they just break and then change 'em to suit whomever (not PAUL).

who has a better record than Rand?

and has a chance of running for potus?

do you seriously think he's going to get in there and run the country like a dicktator?

The lie is in this Op, not in Rand's words.

Rand did not say an attack on Israel is an attack on the United States.

The Op LIED. It was pointed out to him and he refused to correct it.

You are propagating the lie.

Listen to the video.

It doesn't lie. It came right out if his two lips.

He didn't say it IS an attack,.

Those words did not come from his lips, only from the Op.

Sorry.

Okay.

What's the difference though?

Irrelevant

Rand's words speak for themselves. He promotes more meddling in foreign affairs spending blood and treasure of the American people where it doesn't belong being spent. Spin it any way you can.

Poor analogy. Rand has the

Poor analogy. Rand has the best voting record in the Senate by quite a wide margin. His words may bother some who don't understand politics, but his actions and voting record speak volumes.

Reread the comment

You've been conned.

fishey posted this link below

It is Rand being interviewed and his exact words. He seems to think of Israel as one of the states, like Hawaii. And he is thinking of the "people" of Israel when he makes his comment.

He says they need to become sovereign and no longer have to ask the USA for permission to do things. But in the meantime because they are dependent on the USA he would defend them.

Actually I like the people of Israel, and I also like the Palestinian people. But I do not like their left wing politicians association with Rothschild and the Zionists.

Many people hate America because she is a puppet of the Rothschild Zionists. But the "people" of America are still loved. So the same Zionist movement runs the USA and Israel and wants to rule the world. But we the "people" of both nations have no say in any of it. I think Rand means he would defend the "people".

IzUnReal Firster

Meybe Rand should explain exactly why he is ready to strap a gun on his kid and send him to the middle east. Pure insanity for Rand to make such statements. He needs to get a duel citizen ship oh wait he is not welcome not being Jewish and all. They lick the hand that beats them.

sovereign

Has Rand Paul ever actually met Ron Paul?

For a father and son - it almost seems like the answer is NO.

Or perhaps Rand has followed

Or perhaps Rand has followed his father's career extensively.. And knows exactly how to win where his father didn't.

There is no liberty movement without Ron Paul

His father didn't win? What blindness. His father created the liberty movement in this country. Where would Rand be without his fathers coattails? Unheard of. Rand simply cashed in on his fathers lifelong work and is now in the process of dismantling it.

so when ron dies the movement dies?

the liberty movement started when people left europe for north america and will continue as it has amongst people who can think for themselves

and you think ron paul won? look at the legislation that has passed lately. we need rand and anyone like him or better than him in political office now badly. if you can do better, please do better!

don't judge rand relative to his father, judge him relative to the rest of the congress.

Well, it's a good thing Ron

Well, it's a good thing Ron would most likely campaign with and endorse Rand when he runs for prsident.

Finally!

We agree on something...

*fist bump*

~wobbles but doesn't fall down~

just because Ron didn't want the Presidency

doesn't mean his son has to throw in the towel too. he actually said he likes the ring of "president paul" as opposed to his dad who doesn't picture himself in the white house, and pulled out before letting us vote in CA.

give him a break

let's start criticizing liberty's worst offenders here, not her best defender.

if rand said and did EXACTLY the same as his father he'd probably get the exact same results.

if anybody can get as far as rand paul has gotten in politics by saying 100% what most of us here believe, PLEASE DO SO NOW, and i will vote for you over Rand, otherwise Rand has my vote, my yard sign, my hours of phone call volunteering and my bumper sticker.

don't expect rand to always say what you wish he would say and what you would say if you got the chance in a public forum. personally i thank him for saying some of the stuff that would make me sick to utter in order to get mainstream GOP approval when he's going to need it... just remember: Ron Paul did not even get to speak at the GOP convention.

Yes we need another political slimeball

That's the answer. Lies, doubletalk, obfuscation, hidden agendas, special interest pandering. Thats the stuff the liberty movement thrives on. That's how Ron started and grew the movement. That is what will turn us around. Those are the tactics of a leader, someone good, honest people can really rally around.

Enjoy the results Rand will give you.

Facepalm #69...

As if there wasn't enough of that earlier. Or even earlier. Or some time before that. What a dreaded crash-loop...

I have no idea what Rand

I have no idea what Rand would actually do if he became president, but I've seen enough to believe he'd be a good choice. If he actually said this, I will assume he was playing politics, because he's already been quite clear about not wanting to fund any of our "allies" at the cost of grievous financial harm to the US.

Look at Rand's speeches

Look at Rand's speeches before he won his Senate seat and compare them to these statement. It's clearly politics. I realize some people cannot get past the idea that it's important to appeal to a broader base. But think about it this way, if Dr. Paul hadn't been criticized by every single Republican talking head for being "anti-Isreal" or "an isolationist", he might seriously be in the White House right now.
