Rand is fooling them into accepting him as mainstream. It is what we want!

I really think the majority of you are literally "sexy". We all know Rand Paul is going to fulfill his fathers vision, but you all get so offended when he tells the sheep what they want to hear. Get it through your "sexy" skulls, he is just playing politics. This is the way you win, and he is going to win in 2016.

So you freely admit

you don't mind a pol who lies and you can't believe a word he/she says. How do you know you can trust a liar?

In-fighting won't get us anywhere

Don't fall into that trap:

"No physical quantity explains it's own existence, and no amount of time can consume an infinite series of events to bring you to the present, which means all of these somewhere have to be explained by one self-existent cause which is not physical."

He fooled you, alright..

He fooled you, alright..

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

Rand is fighting from where he is

We all have to fight in our own ways, wherever and whoever we are. It's ridiculous to try to find that one "right" guy. We're in this together. It's not just about any one of us. Unless you all want to change this site to the Daily Dictator.

Myself I'm a fan of Rand and I think he playing chess, but I could be wrong. I'm not pinning my hope on any one guy (or gal) though.

They read this too! Secret! Ssshhh! =)

The average Republican voter doesn't read this.

They're the intended audience.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

But the GOP has...

...people that do...and the MSM sure does!

I'm not so sure.........

he goes to visit Israel and a few weeks later completely changes his stance....i think he's got president on the mind....and it seems he's willing to give up on his principles to get there. I've been one to stick up for the guy for awhile too.....but the Israel comment was too much for me.

Um, Yeah...

He is certainly fooling some people, however, methinks you have misidentified the 'who'.

A hint, it is very likely 'you'.

Love the PC modification of the title/OP.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

What evidence do you have?

Regardless...what matters is what he does after he wins. How do you know we're not the one's being taken for a ride? He needs our votes to win...just like Mittens did (who he endorsed over his own Father)...so it would make sense that he would pander to us. It is kind of hard to support someone who stabbed their own Father in the back...especially when their Father is the great Dr. Paul. He had an "out" with the party...all he had to say is "he's my Dad...how can I not support my own Father?" Instead he sucked the establishment's c#ck!!!!

I'm going to assume this is

I'm going to assume this is sarcasm and just LOL. mk? thanks.

He's sure got me fooled

He's a real war pig alright.

The fundamental problem is believing that you can actually elect a libertarian as president, and compromising on principle in hopes of reaching a larger audience of voters.

The only use for the political process in libertarianism is as a platform with which to educate people about our philosophy.

Ron Paul understands this, our job is to educate.

This system is to fundamentally corrupt and inherently broken.

The only way to bring about real change is to reach the point at which we have enough people willing to withdraw from the system.

Mass individual secession is the only way out of this.

To reach this goal, we first have to educate people.

Politics is useful as a platform to teach with, but it is not in itself a solution.

We are not going to repeal leviathan through the legislative process.

If we are going to educate, then we need to make sure our message stays pure and we must not compromise.

We have had tremendous success so far, because we have had a messenger who does not compromise and does not water down our philosophy.

Whoever we pick to represent the message of liberty in front of a national audience, must be principled and uncompromising.

Ron Paul has been the perfect representative, but he is now retiring.

Whoever we pick to carry the torch next, must be at least as good or better (if that were possible).

We cannot go backwards, we cannot begin to compromise, we are making incredible strides toward a free society.

It's not about winning elections, it's about winning hearts and minds.

I don't think he is trying to

I don't think he is trying to fool anyone. I think he's been honest from the start. The problem is that he is not his father and many people here foolishly hold him to those standards. They all want a revolution and realistically that cannot happen unless they want utter chaos...which I believe some here actually want. The idea of a revolution is crazy. Not even the founders wanted a revolution. The rise up of the people was a last resort. I myself would rather have a political movement. I think Rands plan of cutting 75% spending is a good start. I also think cutting foreign aid to our enemies first and then weaning our allies is a good start also. The fact is...we are too far gone. It's too big to rip the bandaid off this one. We need to position ourselves for a smooth transition. Realistically.

So....is his strategy along the lines

of how my local officials word an article to be voted on, by using reverse psychology? Vote no when you mean yes and vote yes if you mean no?

Will I need to hire a lawyer to interpret everything he says?

Are you being paid by the Rand Paul Campaign?

Or are you just wanting to believe so badly because there is no one to fill the hole Ron left? And when Rand says or does something opposite of your beliefs, you make excuses for his actions?

Personally, I'm not for or against Rand at the moment. I'll take my time, watch and research, and then make up my own mind come 2016.

I believe what Rand said in his Rand PAC email

"That's because I'm dead serious about restoring constitutional government in America.

And I promise you I'm not backing down.

In Liberty,"

Fundraising emails

Why yes, I believe every word written in them.

I didn't think you would be the one commenting on my statement

I don't have any type of predictive power and maybe Rand is really in pursuit of political power, but since this seems like the only way to break through ( which that isn't really likely either) I just see it making sense.
Faith is the only option in my opinion. Hillary or some real neocon will lead us into oblivion.
Time between electionshopefully will tell us. :)

Faith. And hard work

I think the biggest problem of the last campaign is we put to much faith in Ron Paul to fix it for us.

I think we need to have faith that things will work out for us, but not in any one individual to save us. It will take a collective effort. We all need to be working on the ground, doing the things that only we can do - the things only we are positioned to do.

I think it is a little early to start thinking about who to support in 2016. But I agree with you that time will tell :)

I'm honestly glad there are some

Areas of agreement there

Michael Nystrom's picture

There are more areas of agreement than not, of that I am sure

It is simply a matter of where we put our focus.

But one cannot see into another man's heart or mind, and it is foolhardy to put your faith in a human savior. This much I have learned.

Can you say "delusional?"

Yes, I thought you could.

Oh, I get it!

The way to 'win' back our freedom is to wait 4 years for the miniscule chance of getting a fellow-traveler into the White House, so he can wield the imperial purse and sword of this "Constitutional Federal Republic."

I got a better idea:

Lose your hope in federal elections. Give up on attempting to capture the federal reigns and do something American: secede from the empire!

Freedom cannot be won by occupying Mordor on the Potomac. Rather, we should withdraw our consent from an inherently flawed frame of government and restore freedom through peaceful separation.

435 Reps, 100 Senators, 9 Judges and 1 President cannot represent 315 million Americans.

Good idea, but do you think you can

Convince your local corrupt politicians

Agenda 21, PNAC, CODEX ALIMENTARIUS and UN biodiversity study. Help me understand why I shouldn't think there is a big agenda against the wishes of the masses.

I won't need to convince local corrupt politicians...

if I can convince others first, the local corrupt politicians will fall of the face of the planet, much like the loyalists politicians did in our first revolution.

The winning strategy would be to convince people of the need to stand against federal tyranny via legitimate means like nullification/interposition.

The more branches we cut, the more we'll realize the whole tree is rotted and must go.
