Catholic hospital chain beats malpractice suit by saying fetuses aren’t people.

Catholics say this,

"This is true of life from the moment of conception until its natural end. Abortion, consequently, cannot be a human right -- it is the very opposite. It is a deep wound in society." - Pope Benedict XVI

Then when money is involved do this,

"Catholic hospital chain beats malpractice suit by saying fetuses aren’t people"

I think the church has the correct position here

They are arguing what the law is now not what they want it to be.

What would have been interesting is if the judge had ruled against the law and redefined a fetus as being a human life. And if this is won on appeal the church will succeed in getting courts to rule in favor of a fetus being a human life.

And does anyone believe the hospital was negligent when a dying woman comes in and didn't do what they could to save her or the babies? I don't think so.

Church wins, hypocrites lose either way

No offense,

but I agree with the church on this. People cannot have it both ways.
