THE POINT IS, THE U.S. WAS NOT CREATED TO BE THE WORLD'S POLICEMAN!!!

Where does it start and where does it end?

I'm so tired of being taxed so that this government can give it away in foreign aid, occupations, interventions and invasions, I could PUKE.

SHAME ON RAND for saying that.

THAT IS NOT why I sent Rand Paul money (numerous times) to get elected to the U.S. Senate.

CAN ANYONE imagine Ron making a statement like this???

Because if he had, there never would have been a Website like this created to support his ideals and beliefs.

THE UNITED STATES WAS NOT CREATED TO DEFEND ANY COUNTRY THAN THE UNITED STATES!!!

GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEADS YOU ROTTEN, THIEVING, LIBERTY-HATING POLITICIANS!

To answer your question, an attack on any NATO or SEATO country would be considered an attack on the US.

I'd say Mexico or Canada

Because they would be good staging points for an invasion of the USA. And once upon a time protecting Panama was of strategic importance, but since we gave the canal away; Panama should be on their own and we should build a new canal through Nicaragua. All other countries should be on their own.

I could possibly agree with Canada and Mexico...

...because being as close as they are to our own borders, it could be interpreted as a self-defense move.

But that's about it.

Every army needs its supply line

If China controls the Panama Canal, and if the USA were theoretically in a dispute with China, wouldn't an alternative route through the Americas be beneficial?

Come on let Rand play his poker hand without harassing him.

Let him play it out, then you will see.

This post is definitely a good observation though.

.

If you play poker...

...someone might call your bluff.

So if Rand keeps saying he will defend this country or that country , then someday if he ever did become president and had the power to so "NO" to unconstitutional decisions, it will be impossible for him to say "NO" when he's on record of having made such a sweeping statement.

NO politician should make the statement Rand did IF they are a believer in the principles of our founders and our founding documents.

THAT was a poker hand he will lose in my opinion. OR more importantly, we as Americans will lose when we go marching off to another war for one or our " allies."

By the way, we give Israel over 3 BILLION a year to be our good "friends."

BUMP. Again. Because I love this post of yours

BUMP.

Again.

Because I love this post of yours, pawnstorm12, as I tried to make the same point in a comment elsewhere.

I sincerely wish your post will get more traction.

I believe the people only needs to restore their texts and commit to them again.

Make your politicians accountable.

There are too few of them still who really care.

The others ought to be fired out of their functions if they can't get it.

Texts such as the Constitution are not light matters.

They are meant TO LAST. Not to be treaded upon by irresponsible political crooks.

God Help Us restore THE TEXTS.

The Bill of Rights, to start with, which is now vanishing slowly but surely.

Peace.

Lysiandad - You are a great patriot.

And thanks for the kind comments.

I don't know about "patriot". This is a strong word.

I don't know about "patriot". This is a strong word.

Concerned fresh immigrant for himself and his family: THAT is for sure.

Thank you for standing for us.

P.S.
And just to be clear:

I still have a very good a priori about Rand Paul, but some of his reported last statements just don't make any sense to me. I am sorry about that.

Nowhere it is written in the Constitution either that the people is expected to guess about politicians talk, for the sake of political arguments.

Important things ought to stay literal, simple, clear. Solid.

We get what we pay for. We lose what we neglect for too long.

I have learned we can't expect otherwise, in life.

We like it or not.

No Lysiandad, "patriot" is not too strong a word at all.

If every American thought as you do, we would have held our politicians to their oaths to uphold our Constitution - throughout our history and right to the present congress and executive.

Then we would not have involved ourselves in endless wars ever since that rat Woodrow Wilson got us into WWI.

In fact it is exactly your ideals which MAKES us patriots.

Marching off to wars NOT designed to defend us, but to enrich the profiteers of war does not automatically a patriot make.

This idea was reinforced when so many great soldiers (like Adam Kokesh and Zak Carter) came back from the middle east and spoke out about the folly of our foreign interventions, adverturisims and downright atrocities.

In the end, they knew it wasn't about defending the United States.

I've said it before; The book "The Creature From Jekyll Island" is a must-read for every American.

It explains the true motives and profiteers of America's endless wars.

-Ron Paul

all of the above...

...is the answer. At least according to the MIC which Ike warned us about shortly before my sixth birthday.

True - And all the poor fools who have been trotted off to die..

...thinking they were defending this country.

All they were defending were the profits of those who gain from wars, invasions, interventions and occupations (central bankers, defense contractors, weapons manufacturers, politicians, high-ranking military officials etc.).

The last time we fought in anything near resembling national defense was in WWII, and that war was the result of our invlovement in WWI which we had NO business in.

Dual Citizens

Well put. Why does Israel have special status while abusing the hell out of the Palestinians? Dual citizens of Israel and America dominate our administration. Endless war for Zionist control. I don't thing so, Rand. Wake up people! Rand is not Ron and needs to get a clue regardless of the good work he does. If he can't be consistent (endorsing Romney fergawdsakes) then he is not credible.

I'll be adding more countries to my list...

Because protecting all these countries guarnatees the U.S. and its military can stay at war to infinity.

And it guarantees the weapons manufacturers' continued financial enrichment through human misery.

We've been fighting nonstop since WW1

We have better dreams-

Just like Woodrow Wilson planned.

He ruined American soverignty and wealth and turned us into the welfare state for the world.

How good Americans had it before 1913 can not be overstated.

I understand about the advances in the technology and medical fields since then.

But I'm talking about Americans having the individual freedom NOT to fight the world's wars...

NOT to fund the world with foreign aid...

NOT to pay federal income tax, Social Security and Medicare taxes...

NOT to be behiolden to international organizations like the U.N., World Bank, IMF, WTO, NAFTA, CAFTA etc...

And NOT to be controlled like puppets by a central bank (Federal Reserve)...

Pre-1913 Americans had no idea how good they had it.
