Rand Paul 2016 campaign - who is with me?

Senator Rand Paul is on fire!
It looks to me like he already started his 2016 campaign with successful attacks against his potential opponents.

Liberty patriots activists let's jump-start Rand Paul 2016 presidential campaign - who is with me?

And +1 to you too mate!

I don't understand Michael

How can you vote for Elizabeth Warren? (paraphrasing your reasoning) Basically that although she's a socialist she is genuine and you can get behind that.(end paraphrasing) She's the antithesis of individual liberty but you can't get behind Rand Paul? What gives when Rand is 95% spot on with his dad?

What Michael has said is that he's not interested in

running a website dedicated to Rand Paul.

Christians should not be warmongers! http://www.lewrockwell.com/vance/vance87.html

Because at least I know where she stands

She says things, she means them.

Unlike others, who say things, and you're left scratching your head wondering what he really means. Scott Brown was a fake. A chameleon. Had no idea what he stood for.

But I'll tell you what I didn't do for Elizabeth: I didn't set up a website for her, I didn't go out and campaign for her, and I didn't send her any money.

So what gives is that I did all of that and more for Ron Paul. Does this mean that I'm tied to the family political dynasty for the rest of my life? I don't think so. The great teaching of Ron Paul is that we're all individuals.

Someone else can go setup the Rah-Rah Rand site. Think of it this way: I'm giving someone else an opportunity to fill that role. Maybe you.

And as for 95%. What is it that Ron Paul always said? You can't be "a little bit pregnant." You either are or your not.

Rand would probably be better than a lot of others, I don't disagree. But then again, who knows? At any rate, with all the energy here building for Rand, I'm sure someone will step up to the plate and build the community for Rand.

About the

"touch of pregnancy" comment... Ron Paul said that referring to tyranny, just to clarify.

Let me be clear

What you have done for Ron Paul is TRULY amazing. I think you have done more to wake up other people than any main stream media source could ever do. You and your site woke me up and I'll be forever grateful.

She is genuine and believes what she says but if she is wrong why not abstain from voting? I don't blame you (not that it matters) for not voting for Scott Brown. I wouldn't have either. But why cast a vote for someone that believes in socialism but not get behind the only person that even closely has a chance of winning and VERY VERY closely represents the ideals in the DP charter statement?

Being tied to any dynasty without vetting and questioning those who follow would be a poor decision. I don't think there should be a rah-rah Rand site. I think in a strong way that sites like yours and those questioning Rand serve not only as a check on him but give a voice to those who wouldn't have one elsewhere.

At the end of the day it's your website and I fervently believe in property rights so I respect your decision. Thanks for replying to my comment and helping me understand your reasons.

Jeff - thank you for asking and for giving me an opportunity

to explain.

I don't think the vote for Warren mattered one way or the other. Abstention was an option, but I also wanted to "send a message to the GOP." That probably didn't matter either, but anyway - being put in these no-win situations results in odd behavior. She was leading by a decent margin and she was going to win anyway.

So as with that vote, there are a number of things that tie into me not wanting to turn this place into Rand Paul Central. Even if you don't want to see that outcome, I think a lot of people here would like that, and a lot of people assume it will become that, considering the history. Because the history is that this was the Rah-Rah Ron site for the past six years. Dissenters were pummeled, then banned.

In the end, to maintain that walled garden, I really had to believe in what I was doing. And I did. But I already did that once. It is tiring and thankless. I'm ready for something new. And I really mean it when I say that someone should take that challenge on: Build something better than the Daily Paul for Rand. If someone has the passion and the energy to do that - more power to them.

Again, I'm not against healthy discussion, just not the fervent "I'm right, you're wrong, this is the only way, you're stupid if you don't agree," type of posts and comments that start the flame wars.

Anyway, thanks again.

I can't imagine the amount of thankless work involved

I own a small business and can empathize to a certain extent but I don't think one can fully understand until they've walked in those shoes. If I'm ever in Boston I'd love the opportunity to buy you lunch or a beer. Maybe pick your brain a bit on what is involved with running the DP.

I'm with Mr. Nystrom

Yep, it's getting unbearable over there

It's to the point where you can't even express criticism when Rand says "any attack on Israel will be considered as an attack on the U.S." If Rubio had said that, they would be ready to bury him, but you can't criticize Saint Rand.

There you go Tom, and others

If you want to post in the Rah-Rah Rand Paul echo chamber, it looks like there is a place for you.

The Daily Paul is non-partisan and non-candidate specific. It will not be the home of the Rand Paul 2016 campaign, the way it was for Ron Paul 2008, and 2012.

I have been as clear and upfront about that as possible. Discussion of candidates, issues, etc. is fine. Pushing propaganda, salesmanship, money bombs etc. is not.

Political activism not allowed on the DP?

Or just when it's Rand related?

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Michael I trust your heart

your vision your gut feeling in how to run the Daily Paul site -- you did a great job so far all these 6 years so why change things.

This coffee is to you & to the DP the # 1 Liberty oriented website on the planet (my humble opinion).

Enjoy your evening!

Don't worry about Michael. He general ends up on the right side.

I still say Rand and Ron, Kelley and Carol owe Michael and his wife a private dinner and personal talk.

well said brother in Liberty

song for you:

Not me

He's a Flip Flopper just like his idol Romney.

I can not support Rand. I

I can not support Rand. I don't particularly care for the notRepublican Party in the first place, but I gave Dr. Paul the benefit of the doubt. Rand is not as good as Dr. Paul, so no.

I will vote independent. The death of the Republicrat bird will be a great day for America.

I was thinking exactly like you do

And I campaigned very hard to help GJ get 5% so that LP get obtain major party status and the funds that go with it.(GJ got 1,1%)

Truth is Ron and Rand are correct.
Working within the GOP is the only path to victory.
LP in 2016 will perhaps get 2% (at best).

It's not about whether the LP can win elections

It's the fact that the GOP cannot win me. And the more important point: if Rand Paul doesn't stop using rhetoric to ingratiate himself with Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck's audience, he will set the Liberty Movement back 10 years.

That's good to hear. Welcome aboard.

You have to win the debate and the Republican party is fertile soil. If we can't win there, we can't win. The Libertarian party is a dead end, and a way to split up and marginalize liberty minded people. There are WAY too many Anarchists who try and call themselves Libertarians and they'll destroy any chance the party had.

The beauty is, they want nothing to do with the Republican party, so we can operate freely while their ideas die in an echo chamber.

I'm a Libertarian, but want NOTHING to do with the Libertarian party. Remind you of somebody?

Talk about making one's day! ((((((((((((((LL))))))))))))))

Yes YOU did campaign VERY HARD for GJ. Broke my heart, but I still LOVE you.

Like you, I worked HARD for 33 years as a Libertarian and Indy, working so hard.. all those petitions, rally's, protests, all that money, time, gas I spent.. and in 07/08 I just KNEW.. if Ron Paul would only do it MY way.. well he didn't.

So when he announced his presidentail bid for 12.. it actually made my physically sick to check that GOP box.. in a way, I felt so defeated.. but what choice did I have? Ron Paul had prooved he was not going to go MY way.

I was so afraid to go to my first committee meetings.. really. And yet.. it was nothing like I imagined.. I thought there would be 24 mean Neocons ready to kill me on the spot.. but I had to do this if I wanted to be a national delegate, and I really wanted to be a national delegate for RON PAUL!!

There were 2 people at that meeting and I knew them both. Of course they were not happy with my bursting into the room RON PAUL RON PAUL, as if it was some majic.. but after a year of being a guest, they finally appointed me a seat, and then I was elected to a seat, and other Ron Paul Republicans began showing up, and that made meetings FUN.. and now we are the majority and I am very very happy.

Rand is a learning curve just like Ron was.. and while I don't agree with everything he says or does.. I'm still learning.. and that's good.

I am so HAPPY to see what you have posted.. it's like coming through the other side.. and I'm excited for you, and hopeful that your whole life will change like mine did, where now, finally, we have a ground, arena, to discuss, vote, and change America to the America we want. I THANK GOD. It has been a good fight because it's based on LOVE, the golden rule, and hope for America to Restore the Republic to Constitutional Government. ((((((LL))))))))))

That's funny! But their were

That's funny! But their were actually about 24 mean neocons ready to kill me on the spot. I'm pretty sure they are going to be unseated in a few weeks though.

It's not that funny

It makes me sad. tonym shared with me the committee in his area, and I have to admit, I got off really lucky, because some of these committees are operating illegally, and that makes me mad. Makes me want to fight.

No.7's picture

tisk tisk.... you shouldn't get mad remember? lol

Feinstein's bill is illegal, does it still not piss you off???

No offence, it's nice to see you putting the 'irate' in the 'irate minority' that is the rEVOLution.

Anger is a weakness that exists in all of us, what is important and learning how to channel that anger into something positive. Exercise, write, speed read...whatever floats you boat but doesn't sink anyone else's. You can't go picking fights, that's not very nice...

Ghandi said, "conquer your enemies with love".

Now I'm pretty sure that Ghandi wasn't calling for prostitution but photos of prominent people in compromising situations seem to make them do abnormal things like resign or pass the law you want lol just saying.

I should have said motivated

I did not feel irate, but I absolutely feel a passion to do something. Anger is a fuel, like gasoline. If you hold it in, a spark can ignite an explosion, and that's not constructive, so rather, I do things, like go to my committee meetings, try to keep up on local, state, and national issues, and then prepare to debate and vote. I LOVE my committee, and I LOVE life, and am generally a very happy person. I hope this apology will suffice, and that you can excuse me for employing a word that actually did not reflect my feelings. I feel motivated.

I should also add, that I am nioe, but more important, I am genuine. Like all people, things happen that dissappoint, or worse, hurt me and or others, like my community, and I care. I am not going to be nice in an attempt to sway, because I don't appreciate people who act nice in attempts to sway. I am going to be polite, and I will dish what is dished, sans foul language and violent acts.

You have a great attitude

and I think I could learn a lot from your exemplary attitude. As you told me, "I find getting pissed off means you have not thought the issue out and reached bottom.".

What you say is true. I must avoid anger and adjust my attitude. Anger should be channeled into motivation. I need to focus on the things I love and how wonderful my life actually is instead of things that anger me. I need to change my attitude. Thanks for setting a good example.

Takes one to know one OldNo.

You won many hearts and friends here very quickly. Here is a very tough crowd.. unless you're a magic man, I think you have plenty of that great attitude stuff already!

You look great in that uniform BTW

My county is split...us

My county is split...us verses them. And us is not just RP supporters but those whom wish to form an alliance o grow the party. We have a slate to replace them...all of them. Wish us luck.

That is true for some of mine

And why I like Rand so much, because he's gapping the split and bringing them to a more Liberty minded focus based on their appreciation of the constitution, after all, we all took loyalty oaths, and surely I will hold to them as they held me to it.

I wish you all the luck, and pray those who are on the other side will see the light, and I hope you win.
