Stop in-fighting

I am growing very disheartened with the way people have been acting on the Daily Paul recently, so let me throw my two cents in...

This movement is about uniting behind the cause of liberty!

Ron Paul would be ashamed if he were to see the way some of you try to minimize others, and bicker about things that don't matter. People are allowed to have opinions! Isn't that kinda the whole point of LIBERTY?! There's a lot of talk about liberty in these forums, but not a lot of walk. So some people like Rand Paul... others don't... BIG DEAL! Furthermore, as Michael said, this website isn't going to be Rand Paul Central 2016, so RESPECT THAT!

For the love of liberty, STOP IN-FIGHTING! It will destroy this movement!

For those of you attacking people who don't want to line up with you behind Rand Paul 2016, slow down! Don't idolize ANY human, because you WILL be disappointed. Even Ron Paul is mortal (as hard as that may be to believe!) Keep an eye on Rand, and don't be afraid to admit when he's wrong! That gives you the power to hold him accountable. Otherwise, you may end up just as bad as the "good ol' boys" who still think George W. Bush was one of the best presidents we ever had.

For those of you bashing Rand along with everyone who likes him, grow up! You should keep your politicians accountable, but you also shouldn't completely throw Rand under the bus along with a huge percentage of the liberty movement. Rand might be our best opportunity in 2016, but we dont know yet! Everyone needs to slow down. There are still 4 years for Rand and even other people like Amash or Napolitano to make waves. We should watch and take notes... We'll know better what to do when we get there... but please don't minimize ANYONE for having an opinion.

(WARNING: PERSONAL OPINION AHEAD)

Personally, I like Rand. I understand that you may not like the way Rand is handling things right now, and I understand... It confuses me too. I want to say that he's playing politics with the establishment to garner mainstream republican votes, and I don't like that, but I'm not Rand. i have no idea what he has up his sleeve. So I'm gonna sit back and watch. I guess there's a chance that he is playing us, but let me just say this: Rand is the son of Ron Paul. If Ron Paul is as good a father as he is a philosopher, I think we will be in good hands with Rand. Also, if Rand starts to actually betray the principles of liberty, I can guarantee Ron will have something to say to him about it.

As with all of the other liberty congressmen we have now, we should support Rand (at least to a certain extent)... Even if there are certain things some of us may disagree with, we ought to appreciate the things he does RIGHT. Rand is doing a lot to further liberty, so be thankful for that! I understand if you aren't ready to say you support him for pres in 2016. In fact, I'm not going to get my panties in a wad even if you say you will absolutely NOT support Rand in 2016. I don't have to agree with you to support your freedom to believe whatever you would like. I mean isn't that what we are supposed to believe, as libertarians?

Everyone cool down. Take a deep breath. Evaluate your options, and keep an open mind about 2016. Things can change. PEOPLE can change... All I ask of you is to do what YOU think is best to spread the message of liberty. I have a feeling Ron Paul still has a lot to teach us.

this as well. Recently I saw that a vitamin company actually used children to hawk their product and poke subtle fun at some members of the 'LM'. See it yourself: http://www.dailypaul.com/266151/vitamin-commercial-features-...

No, thanks.

I like the friction.

Constructive criticism is what makes this country tick.

You act like your opinion is more important than anyone else's. It isn't!

Its your opinion and people will "buy it" or, not.

Believe me, I know this firsthand!

There is a time for calmness. Its AFTER the storm or before it but the storm must occur to cleanse the land.

I hope this was helpful to you and I would only suggest that, in the future, speak "to" people and not "down to" them, as children.

(I don't even speak "down" to my children.)

I don't like codescending people.

And, just as a force of equalization, personally, I DON'T like Randy Paul.

really?

I didn't take sides on Rand, and I'm getting down-voted... Some of you guys are worse than I thought. There's nothing wrong with arguing, but throwing insults around and bashing each other is counter-productive. I hope that changes soon.

Children?

You mean petty, self-absorbed, pampered, entitled, and with an exaggerated sense of importance?

Yes, but... the polite term is "American."

If you have to ask...

I can only conclude...

So sorry...

Get over it!

When Fascism goes to sleep, it checks under the bed for Ron Paul!

You are on an internet forum.

arguing

There's nothing wrong with arguing. But the members here have been bashing one another and throwing insults around. It's very childish.

Discussions & Arguments are different than Fighting and Bashing

..and some people fight to win an argument, especially when they can't make an argument.

I'm not insinuating, just saying those people exist.

I just can't support fighting and bashing.

Rand is a careerist

A political career can be a very lucrative thing. This is the reason why most get into politics: money and power. The idea that Rand has been somewhat corrupted by this shouldn't be seen as a ridiculous thing. It's the NORM in politics. I'm tired of seeing this misconception that if you don't support Rand it means you must HATE him. I don't hate Rand Paul. I'm just not going to push for someone based on the strength of their last name alone. I don't think he's evil it's just that he just doesn't have the huge amount of integrity that his father does. Not surprising because that degree of integrity is very rare in the world of politics.

So.. Is Ron Paul a political Careerist?

He's been in politics way longer than Rand.
..and he continues to speak in public, write books, etc.

I've never thought of Ron Paul that way until you've said that about Rand.

Interesting point. ;)

No, Ron Paul is not a political "Careerist"!

Because he has never compromised his position and accepts that the neocons/establishment hate/despise him for it.

He accepts the mantle of his choices even though he knows the "establishment" doesn't agree. He ONLY cares that he is right for WE, the people.

Randy Paul CAN NOT say this. He SELLS OUT the people to protect his career (thats a careerist) and guess what, even then, he will be lucky to win a second term.

If he did support WE, the people, would we EVEN be having this discussion now?
Thats what I thought.
