Mrs. Feinstein's measure would exempt more than 2,200 types of hunting and sporting rifles; guns manually operated by bolt, pump, lever or slide action; and weapons used by government officials, law enforcement and retired law enforcement personnel.

Those with security clearances, or weapons, presumably need those tools while doing the job. When they leave the job, they should lose the tools. Those who have a security clearance lose it when they leave the job. It should be the same for all tools for the job, including weapons.
Those persons can have the same privileges and benefits of regular people when they retire. Unless we want a special class of people, like an aristocracy.

retired law enforcement are exempt, but people that have been battling on the front line are not. Just goes to show how much they are respected. Sad to say the least.
