Rand Paul is blowing up right now.

Hannity, Levin, Monica Crowley, Limbaugh, Kudlow, dozens of others have been praising him in the last month. All the establishment "conservatives"

Rand Paul v. Hillary Clinton

*pops popcorn*

Senator Peter Schiff 2016

Thesis GOP establishment, anti-thesis Ron Paul, synthesis...

The GOP is hoping to play Rand, and or us into believing that we will have a true stake in the goings on of the party.

Either they will use him to divide us, as seems to be the dominant theme running through the DP these days, or they will pretend to accept some of the issues that united us behind Ron, to get us to help elect 'them' only to burn us again.

Whatever the outcome the movement needs to UNITE when the time comes, whether it is behind Gary Johnson, or Rand Paul, or some other is well in the future and whoever is to try to don the mantle of the 'Ron' will must needs be well proven in the arena of words and actions before we should any of us 'coalesce'.

But for me synthesis with the dictatorship is not an option, so if that IS Rand's 'play' here he is toast, so I hope for our sake that he is just yet to really blossom into the GREAT patriot we all hoped he was/is.

Here's the thing with Rand

There is just something not right with Rand Paul, Jesse Benton, and Mitch McConnell.

Something that's missing in this whole damn deal.

Why would Rand and Jesse make nice with Mitch McConnell after all of the shenanigans that Mitch used against Rand in the primary, and against Ron in the presidential primary?

If these guys were loyal and trustworthy like RON, there would be NO dissension in the ranks.

How can these two, Jesse and Rand, look themselves in the mirror every day while they are shaving?

To me the jury is still out whether or not Rand can put on his big boy pants and really be the man his father is.

Jesse on the other hand, well he is obviously just a 'professional', like Dick Morris, and Karl Rove, and never was a true believer.

Ever since his endorsement of

Romney, Rand has been a mouthpiece for the republican establishment. Speaking out against foreign aid here and there, "look at my voting record" but is he really standing up for the movement? I don't think so. i feel he sold out.
Being the "lesser evil" doesn't do it for me. I want a guy like his father to get interested in politics

Don't waste your time trying to be right, spend it trying to get better

Damn it, there was never any

Damn it, there was never any official endorsement. He said "He Supports Romney against Obama and then NEVER campaigned with or for him and even criticized hum during the campaign.

There is no Left or Right -- there is only freedom or tyranny. Everything else is an illusion, an obfuscation to keep you confused and silent as the world burns around you." - Philip Brennan

"Invest only in things that you can stand in front of and pr

You

hit the nail on the head. What use is he if he becomes the enemy?

"is he really standing up for the movement?"

Yes, he is.

Some bills Rand has sponsored:

Cut Federal Spending Act of 2011 (S.162): proposed to cut $500 billion in federal spending in FY2011.

Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2011 (S.202): the Senate duplicate version of Ron Paul's House bill (H.R.459), requiring a full audit of the Fed before the end of 2012.

Fourth Amendment Restoration Act (S.1070): a little bit complicated, since it amends a lot of existing law, but in essence it limits the ability of the federal government to conduct Unconstitutional searches

A bill to authorize the interstate traffic of unpasteurized milk and milk products that are packaged for direct human consumption (S.1955): ...self explanatory

A Bill to Permit Voluntary Economic Activity (S.2269): "Prohibits the Sherman Act, the Clayton Act, and section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act from being construed as prohibiting, banning, or otherwise extending to any voluntary economic coordination, cooperation, agreement, or other association, compact, contract, or covenant entered into by or between any individual or group of individuals."

Preserving Freedom from Unwarranted Surveillance Act of 2012 (S.3287): Requires that a warrant be obtained to use a drone for domestic surveillance

A bill to require security screening of passengers at airports to be carried out by private screening companies, and for other purposes (S.3303): ...self explanatory

A bill to provide limitations on United States assistance, and for other purposes (S.3576): cuts foreign aid to Egypt, Pakistan, and Libya

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

huh--

I reserve judgement, either way. I don't see the point.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Being praised by the right wing means

Being vetted by the left, which is a good thing, if it doesn't kill him it will make him stronger.

I think it much more likely he is being groomed to be Mitch McConnell's eventual replacement rather than making a presidential run. I just don't think he has the charisma, he just ain't as likeable as his dad.

He does have the senate leader scowl down pretty good too.

And to be blunt: Rand would make a far greater difference to the Libertarian cause as the Republican senate leader than as one of horses in a Republican Primary.

If you don't want somenoe like Rand as POTUS, then who

is your choice? From what I see we will have plenty of neocons with the likes Santorum. From what I have seen so far Santorum will be the pick for the establishment on the right for 2016. It will take some work to get Rand to beat him, but it will be possible with the setup already in place by his dad.

If we could get 1 thing for our movement like audit the FED. who gives a crap about Israel? Exposing the FED would be terrific for our movement!

We will never have Ron Paul as POTUS, so we need to get someone the masses will vote for! If Ron Paul stumps for Rand are you going to say no to Ron?

Lets try and get small steps instead of every thing at once, which is not going to happen!

Gold standard: because man can not be trusted to control his greed

Chuck Baldwin.

But you're right, Rand would be awesome as Senate leader.

Obedience to God is resistance to tyrants.

Do you think Baldwin...

...has any chance of winning an election?

I don't. If you plan on supporting Baldwin, I think your money/effort would be better spent donating to the LvMI or C4L. I'd prefer that all Paulites support an electable candidate, but if that's not possible, then at least do something productive, don't waste precious resources on lost causes.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Not for nothing

but that's the same stuff I heard when I told people that I supported Ron.

The only people who decide which candidate is "electable" are the people who support them. (and the MSM, to an extent...)

A vote/cause is only wasted/a lost cause if one puts it toward something they don't actually believe in, like the whole "holding your nose" deal.

Just throwing it out there.

A signature used to be here!

I don't think any election

I don't think any election selection is going to stop the march to tyranny. It's time for a new govt. The USA is too big. Should be broken up into at least 4 new countries.

The "elections"

are so rigged. We KNOW that. Time to move on. A new paradigm, DECENTRALIZATION.

Yeah, what he said.

.

Obedience to God is resistance to tyrants.

You would kill interstate commerce!

I am a small time beekeeper but I have been to Texas at least 15 to 20 times and California at least 10 times. I figured in my expenses I spent a minimum of $1000. traveling to Texas and $2500. to California each trip. I am just a small time beekeeper that would never cross international borders with bees. How many more are like me? How much money would other states lose in being different countries. I am sure there are Thousands like me, but with deeper pockets. Then there is so many other industries that need interstate commerce to survive.

But then the Criminal Organization Monsanto probably wouldn't exist in your world. Then I wouldn't need to travel to Texas to replenish deadout bee hives poisoned from GMO corn and soybeans.

Gold standard: because man can not be trusted to control his greed

You would no longer..

have to compete against beekeepers that ended up in a different country than you.

.
~wobbles but doesn't fall down~

Are you sure?

How about needing permission to travel from New York to California as you cross into different countries? We just need a president and congress with common sense that will over turn all stupid laws and executive orders now in place.

When Rand speaks of Israel as one with the U.S., could it be he is tossing a bone to the neocons? After all Israel has about 90% approval in the U.S..

Gold standard: because man can not be trusted to control his greed

Not 100% positive. It's open

Not 100% positive. It's open to debate of course. My line of thinking though is that the smaller the administration district is for a govt. the easier it is for the people living in that district to control said govt.

Remember too that the constitution was ratified when only 13 east coast colonies existed.

How about limiting the Federal Government for what

it was intended for? That is to protect the borders from foreign invaders and enforce interstate commerce between states. If we follow the Constitution the Federal Government would be 1/4 it's size it is now.

If Ron Paul would have been inaugurated as POTUS the population would be having a history lesson of the Constitution right now.

I wonder how every one of the liberals will love Obama after he forces the population into a tyrannical carbon world banking system? I really believe this is Obama's calling! He wants to divert any wealth left in the U.S. to 3rd world countries.

Gold standard: because man can not be trusted to control his greed

Rand Paul reminds me of

Martin Van Buren. Short, clever, stays out of your business.

Senator Peter Schiff 2016

Maybe he is Van Buren

In 1983 Murray Rothbard wrote:

Nineteenth-century parties were fiercely partisan... For there was then virtually no independent vote; and the only way to win was to bring out one’s own committed partisans by being (or at least claiming to be) even more intensively devoted to party principles.
More importantly, the political party was the only instrument by which ideology could transcend and override narrow sectional and occupational interests. Now that the political parties have virtually no distinctive ideology, they have become merely floating congeries of special-interest groups, each determined to mulch the taxpayer for its own benefit. Van Buren was dedicated to party loyalty because he realized that only strong political parties could mobilize enough power to make ideology (in his case that of minimal government) triumph over special interests. Therefore, since for Van Buren party loyalty made sense only in service to ideology, he did not hesitate to split with his beloved Democratic Party – and hence to lose all credibility in the party – when in 1848 an issue arose that was to him of the highest moral importance.

Doesn't that remind you of Rand?
If you're interested in the rest of the story:

Van Buren was slated to be the [Democrat] candidate that year[1844], but something happened on the way to the triumph of laissez faire. The republic of Texas applied for admission to the United States as a slave state, and the Democrats split wide open. The slaveholder Jackson threw his weight in favor; but Van Buren, horrified at any expansion of slavery into the West, was opposed, and the Democratic Party began its permanent division on the slavery issue. Van Buren was fully aware that, with slavery on the agenda, the Democratic Party could no longer be a truly national party, but he could not countenance the extension of this pernicious institution. Hence, in 1848, when the Democracy nominated for president Lewis Cass, an apologist for slave expansion into the West, Van Buren felt compelled to abandon his cherished party loyalty and to rend the Democracy by running for president on the new, Free Soil ticket.

So Van Buren split the D's and Ran third party? interesting.

Van Buren was, perhaps, my favorite president. The link above describes him visiting Jefferson at Monticello and having a 'waking up' experience. After which he challenged the democrat-republican/whig/torie "era of good feelings" crooked establishment by creating the Democrat party and bringing in Jackson. MVB also calmed down a war over the border with Maine and Canada after congress authorized military force and funds. But Van Buren simply negotiated and no lives nor resources were wasted. He stayed out of war with Mexico over Texas. Also est. the independent treasury - Jackson killed the Bank, and Van Buren buried it.
If it weren't for the slave issue and the "civil" war we may have had true seeds of liberty instead of Lincoln's mass-suicide and tyranny spawning away into the future. John Tyler's betrayal of the whig party line upon ascending to the presidency was a good last ditch effort, I suppose. After that, its as if the Jeffersonians retreated to the rebel base - or went into exile perhaps, waiting for the remnant to awaken. Could it be that Rand is luke skywalker defeating the empire from within dressed in storm trooper garb, or is he Anakin, taught by the master, yet meddling with the dark side of the force, consuming him into darth vader.
If you've read this far I'm glad you got to read that ridiculousness.

Rand's alright in my book.

Rand's alright in my book. Better than the other 99. I don't think the federal govt. is going anywhere but into tyranny though, depsite our best efforts. Too many brainwashed people out there will cheer us into some progressive marxist future. Very depressing.

Why do people in our movement spend so much effort attacking ron paul's son when there are people like McCain and Harry Reid in the senate. Call those bastards out.

I agree

They are way bigger problems.

Just remember all you

Just remember all you pessimists, Rand is Carol and Ron's son. You don't grow up in a family like that and go completely off the rails. Rand is smart, he's committed, and so what if he plays "the game?"

This family is truly one of a kind, and I trust Rand will make us proud if he can get elected.

Dear Purists, if you don't have anything nice to say, STFU! Because it's either Rand or Jeb Bush and/or Hillary Clinton in 2016!!!!!

Get on the Rand band wagon now, or suffer a life time of evilness!

Rand is a United States senator

A United States senator saying that the safety of a foreign country should be treated indistinguishably from that of the Untied states doesn't mean much these days.

Sorry, bigsurjune, but plenty of men grow up to be unlike their fathers. The man has confessed to us, he has said: "Well absolutely, we stand with Israel, but what I think we should do is announce to the world, and i think it is well-known, that any attack on Israel will be treated as an attack on the United States."

What more do you want, before you will believe that he is with them? He isn't going to put a sign on that reads "Yes, I've become a neocon." Publicly adhering to their prime tenant, Zionism, is going to have to be good enough.

Rand voted to audit the FED

and tried to help his dad push the (audit the FED) legislation trough congress. If Rand became POTUS and only accomplished auditing the FED he would change history of the world. The FED controls every thing in our lives.

Who cares a rats ass about Israel when there are bigger fish to fry.

Gold standard: because man can not be trusted to control his greed

Oh Brother...

...with an added good lord!

Like buying a steak at the supermarket

You look at the steak. You admire the steak. You might praise the steak ("MAN, that looks good!." or "Just wait till you see what WE'RE having tonight.") You prepare the steak.

And why do you do all these things?

Because at the right time you EAT the steak.

These guys are just getting their meal ready before the next Presidential election cycle - at which time they will gladly rip and gnash him, and consume him. Or worse, chew him up and spit him out.
