A sheriff says, "New expanded role for the citizens..get a gun...learn to use it!"Submitted by old_aldy on Sun, 01/27/2013 - 02:33
Please see what is happening in this story. This needs to be said in many other cities I'm sure. He says the people need to start thinking about the reality that we, the police, may not be there right away or in time to help. The costs are catching up to the cities where lawless people are too abundant and budgets are being cut.
The old model "rapid response" developed in the 1980's is not working. With 300 burglaries in one month the most are not being responded to at all in time. Milwaukee County Sheriff Clarke Jr. is saying how it is and how the people should take on his request of playing the "expanded role" of learning to use a gun and learn how to protect yourselves.
Here's the news article and a radio interview which are the start of this next week interchanges between local radio and probably national radio pundits and news stations.
We need to support Sheriff Clarke Jr. and our ideas of freedom in this coming week's news stories. There needs to be voices to support his character and office. He's one of the best I know of in his position as a sheriff. Yet, the liberal Mayor Barrett of Milwaukee, who has no true respect for anyone except himself, like a child responds to Clarke's ideas with mockery. This behavior, even after he the Mayor a few years ago was beaten up with a tire iron on the streets of Milwaukee county. The Sheriff tactfully mentions the tire iron in the radio podcast.
UPDATE: CNN interview.
Have a blessed day.
