God Spoke To Me Today, Mea Culpa DP!

I extend an apology to those on the DP who I have offended with my argument that, grassroots is now worthless to me because the GOP has all the tools, and more, to accomplish everything I did when I was grassroots as they make it so easy by comparison.

I did not expect today's scripture and homily to touch my heart concerning the Daily Paul community, but it did, and God opened my eyes, ears, and heart, and gave me a new perspective.

Here's was the scripture from the New Testement (our second reading in the Catholic Church):

1 Corinthians 12: 12 - 30

12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.
13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body -- Jews or Greeks, slaves or free -- and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
14 For the body does not consist of one member but of many.
15 If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," that would not make it any less a part of the body.
16 And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," that would not make it any less a part of the body.
17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell?
18 But as it is, God arranged the organs in the body, each one of them, as he chose.
19 If all were a single organ, where would the body be?
20 As it is, there are many parts, yet one body.
21 The eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you," nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you."
22 On the contrary, the parts of the body which seem to be weaker are indispensable,
23 and those parts of the body which we think less honorable we invest with the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty,
24 which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving the greater honor to the inferior part,
25 that there may be no discord in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.
26 If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.
27 Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.
28 And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, then healers, helpers, administrators, speakers in various kinds of tongues.
29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?
30 Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?

It crossed my mind that the mistake I was making on Daily Paul was that I had dismissed grassroots.. "Been there, done that", was like a mantra for me.. and it's true.. after 33 years of being grassroots, I was burnt out, happy to be on a committee.

God has shown me how to make my committee work even better, and this is by taking the luxury the GOP offers me in my membership and giving it to the grassroots, so it's not so hard on them, so they can do what I did for all those years, easier, and better. I can get permits, I have resources I did not have before, and rather than keeping this in the GOP as some exclusive.. God has shown me that it is my duty as a Catholic and a RepubliCAN, to share these blessings FREELY.. Of course I am bound somewhat.. I will not be able to share them with the Democrats.. they have their own after all.. but for Independents.. I can share, and I will.

Please accept my apology in dissing the grassroots. I WAS WRONG AND I AM VERY VERY SORRY.. Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa, MAXIMAS MEA CULPA.

May God have mercy and forgive me, and may you, my brothers and sisters in LIBERTY and FREEDOM, forgive me.

How unfortunate people are downvoting your post

You open up and explain something that touched you and opened your eyes and they downvote. That is plain wrong. They apparently don't understand the basic message of 'we all have our work to do' and each will do it according to their capacity and that each one is valuable.
I wish there was some way that you couldn't downvote until you explain the reason for the downvote. Like a little pop-up that says 'Please explain yourself BEFORE you downvote'. At least we would know who the culprits were and their reasoning. A downvote without explanation says 'coward' to me and indicates the person doesn't have the courage of their conviction.
Anyway, up-vote from me! It's important to never stop learning and to never close yourself off from inspiration - wherever you might find it!

They are?

Me get down voted? Surely you jest!!!

I agree with you about the voting because I too appreciate the education. I'm not here to be RIGHT.. I'm here to LEARN, and share.

THANK YOU and GOD BLESS YOU!!!! ((((((((((stm))))))))))

if you were in a Catholic...

...cathedral and "God opened your eyes" then perhaps you may show up at a CHRISTIAN church next Sunday?? (praying for your soul, as you seem like a decent enough sort of gal)

By the way, I had kind of the "opposite experience" yesterday as a State Committeeman at my State's GOP statutory meeting. It was like "okay, here I am trying the Granger way, but all I smell is phoniness and the establishment holding onto corruption for their lives." Was especially tough to hold my tongue (and vomit reflex) when, near the end, "my" congressman sat down directly in front of me to BS with a couple other guys. He had spoken earlier referring to himself as a Constitutional conservative, this a mere 2 or 3 days after voting "aye" on the "raise the debt ceiling to infinity" legislation. Barffff!!

It stunk so badly of Israel-firsters and Neocons that I'm inclined to just drop my voter registration altogether (no "L" as for much of the past, no "Ind" either) and observe this crap by switching back and forth between Faux Snooze and MS-DN-C and yelling at my TeeVee....

I was baptised Catholic when I was a baby, but neither of my parents were Catholic, or Christian. My Mother would have been, but my father had become an objectivist and was every much a zeolot in his passionate hatred of all religious people and things.

I ran away from home as a teen, and sought God.. wound up joining a traveling gospel group, "Christ is the Answer", wore long dresses and a big cross, carried a Bible, and went door to door asking people to come to our gospel tent, where the majority talked in tongues, and every night there was baptisms. One of the best things was going to many different Churches on Sundays.

During the mass, when the people would go kinda crazy, praying, crying, laughing, praising, talking in touges, I would stand there and pray that God make me like that. I would stand there and pray and pray, and God never did make me act like that. So every night I was baptised. I guess I was baptized about 40 times. I spent my free time roaming the streets telling people they needed to repent and would have people get on their knees and pray with me. I regret this.. because what I think I was really trying to do was save myself. From there I went into Eastern Religions, cults and eventually went back home and accepted Ayn Rand as my savior, which made my Dad happy.

It was when my Mother died, and my Father disowned me, my God Mother, an Aunt who had talked my Mother into having me baptised, suggested I get back into Church.

She took me to her cathedral where Mass was in Latin. When it came time for communion, she told me to cross my arms and get a blessing from the preist. I got in line in front of her, crossed my arms as she instructed, and when it was my turn, the Deacon instructed me to take communion. My Aunt was livid!

When we were about to leave, Thank God, the Deacon came over to me and apologized in front of my Aunt for instructing me to take communion. Then she glared at him and not me. But that communion was meant to be. It was as if God said: "YOU ARE HOME! WELCOME HOME!!" I began attending Mass at the local Catholic Church. For months I went every Sunday and didn't really understand what was going on. No one really even spoke to me. When they began RICA I began attending to prepare for my first communion and confirmation. I suggest ALL ADULT Catholics should attend. I served as Lecturer.. and then one day, the Litergical director dropped his papers in a gust of wind, and I helped him pick them up, and the idea struck me, that in choir I could learn mass.. so I followed him up to the chior, and though I hadn't sung in decades.. I tried.. and kept going back..

I've now done my first communion and confiramtion, and today, I'm very active, Lecturor, Choir, Cantor and volunteer for most everything. Some say I have brought a "new life" into our Church, or that the holy spirit has a grip on me.. or today I was told that our Church is becoming more like a Baptist Church because I'm shaking tamborines and way into Gospel.. This was our exit song and I felt Mehalia Jackson was smilng on me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZ4ZFIhOQ6A A friend came up after, laughing.. said three women sitting by him.. one says, "Let's go", and another says, "Let's go make a differnce", and the third said, "Let's make a difference in the world". :-))

I belong to Mendocino Christian Women's Association, and we have affordable luncheons, go to each other's Church's, have programs and do community work.. as you may know I volunteers at our Parrish Hall Soup Kitchen, we are opening three classrooms up to the community for teaching Children how to garden and cook.

As for the committee work.. mine was not too swift on me when I first showed up because I was so RON PAUL RON PAUL RON PAUL. But I kept showing up.. and though we've had our tough moments, I stuck it out and now things are very different..

LOVE IS THE ANSWER Jesus Christ God Bless you! <3

Drop your R reg and the bad guys win.

You'll only be doing what they want you to do.

I can't believe that through the grace of God and your and others hard work after reaching the level of State Committeeman that you'd up and quit.

Is that what Ron Paul would recommend? Is that why he began the RepubliCAN effort for his supporters?

Andy escapes.

I think Paul (Saul) tells this story convincingly.

He was knocked off his high horse, so stories say.

For far worse then trampling the turf of the grassroots.

What is revolution if not returning to better ways?

Great post. Remorse can lead to compassion. Thanks!

Free includes debt-free!

Yes he does (((((((((((((Paul_S.))))))))))

I recently watched a poor movie about the story of Paul/Saul the other night.. it claimed to be the story of Paul, but was more like the story of the Roman guards convertion.

Remorsee in my case has indeed led me to compassion, and renewed passion.

well, you certainly don't need to apologize to me, but . . .

I think it's odd that I was just talking about that passage of scripture (about respecting others' gifts)

with some friends a day or two ago.

And WHERE do you live? LOL!

I think I am FAR away!

And I'm not Catholic. It must be in the spiritual air.

That was a rhetorical question, by the way. You need not say where you live; I have kept my own location private. :)

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

It is funny, as I don't believe in coincidence, so you must be connecting on a spiritual plain. My profile tells all.. I live in Mendocino County, a place I consider heaven on Earth and filled with Angels.

Hugs Granger :)

Thanks for sharing your experience - it's inspiring. Being touched by God is such a beautiful thing - as is your beautiful humility. Without it we can't be reached and we can't really grow.

Have a beautiful Sunday.
