HUNGRY parents in North Korea have been caught eating their CHILDREN to avoid starvation, according to reports.
One father is said to have been executed by firing squad for killing his two kids for food.
And it has sparked fears there could be further cases of cannibalism in the country.
The Sunday Times told how undercover reporters recorded several horror stories from inside the poverty-stricken nation.
They included one man who dug up his grandchild's corpse to eat and another who boiled his child and ate the flesh.

Agree that they have to depend on imports
because of their central government and collectivism, BUT I do not agree with punishing the people for the errors of government. The sanctions end up creating brutal starvation conditions both in N Korea and Iran. People who are used to being "looked after" are non-thinkers and will eat whatever is available.
It is a terrible situation when you can own no land and have no freedom to do anything. They do not even have a patch of soil to grow food on. It is all government owned.
How quickly a people can be brainwashed. S Korea is like America, and N Korea are like unthinking zombies living in fear completely dependent on being "looked after".

I'm absolutely with you in opposition to the sanctions...
...for North Korea, Cuba, Iran: anywhere. Free trade is always and everywhere beneficial. The radical classical liberals of the 19th century even believed (and I tend to agree) that part of the "rules of war" should be an absolute prohibition on interfering with commerce, not only neutral commerce, but even between the nations at war: i.e. free trade even with your enemy during wartime! : )

In this country, we go steal livestock and imprison the humans who owned them because they are guilty of "animal cruelty" when they "let" them starve. No one EVER ASKS if the human was starving, too. And no one ever offers to feed the animals or the human. There are ads on craigslist every day asking for feed donations to help with livestock that has been "rescued." Why not put that ad up for the person? How do you pretend you are "rescuing" an animal from starvation if you have to beg for donations to feed it?
This lack of empathy for our neighbors is what leads to the callousness that lets you eat your own child.
