Senate Group Reaches Immigration Deal

Senate Group Reaches Immigration Deal

By MANU RAJU | 1/28/13 | 12:01 AM EST

A powerful group of senators from both parties has reached a deal on the outlines of a comprehensive immigration overhaul, a development that will drive an emotional debate on a hot-button issue unseen in Washington for more than half a decade.

The group is expected to unveil the basics of its proposal at a Monday news conference on Capitol Hill, essentially laying down a marker on the issue one day before President Barack Obama heads to Las Vegas to unveil more details about his own immigration proposal.

According to a five-page document provided to POLITICO, the sweeping proposal — agreed to in principle by eight senators — would seek to overhaul the legal immigration system as well as create a pathway to citizenship for the nation’s roughly 11 million illegal immigrants. But establishing that pathway would depend on whether the U.S. first implements stricter border enforcement measures and new rules ensuring immigrants have left the country in compliance with their visas. Young people brought to the country as children illegally and seasonal agriculture industry workers would be given a faster path to citizenship.

New Immigration Deal

This is to Mr. Rand Paul , as a member of congress. Since it appears that illegal immigrates will be given citizenship soon. The simple idea of paying a small amount of money to redeem themselves of an act of felony, I believe the debt should be in the form of a choice; Go back to your land of origin and apply as others around the world whom have waited to enter this great country or stay in the US on a path to permanent-partial citizenship; that is never having the right to vote, to any social programs (or SS), etc.and to have these non rights extended to their children for generations. The new deal immigration bill shall also include an amendment to the rights of any foreign national or non (full) citizens to have their children born in the US to receive US citizenship.

There should also be a clause in the bill that employs the National Guard ( from all states; on a rotating basis) to guard our borders and enforce the federal immigration laws to the fullest extent.

Damn, SOC, I wished I could get that deal.

If I could've opted out or SS, MC, and MC at a young age I would've been a lot happier. I always thought the elections were rigged so not voting would be great. And as far as your children idea, HELL YEAH! Who wants there baby to be slapped with a SS number, have their DNA diagnosed and categorized for consumption of elites and corporate purposes only, and pumped full of toxic immunizations? And since I believe that man should be free, no matter where he may just so happen to pop out of his mama's womb, I would be elated to have at least a small portion of the population have this tiny amount of liberty. I just only wish it could be me. And, hey, they won't be drafted either! And they won't be convinced that the USGovt.'s debt is their debt either!! BRILLIANT! You are my hero, SMC!

Regardless...

Regardless of what happens on the immigration front you (we) should learn Spanish and proceed to wake up the Hispanic population too!

Claro que si.

Buen idea! Me gusta como piensas.
