Is the SHTF about to happen soon? I feel like I have just given up on life

I just feel I have no future. Nothing to look forward to. Stressed out to the max. I'm only 27 and feel like I am going to have a stroke before I hit 30 with my service job that only pays minimum wage. (even though I have a college degree). I still live at home with my parents because I can't afford a place of my own. I am able to save as little that I do make on food and gold/silver for the collapse. I am I doing the right thing? I feel that this is all I can do. I don't come from a well of family so I can't go back to school or anything. I do live within my means and have a few student loans and my car(which I need for work). Am I doin the right thing? I am a single guy, so no spouse or kids or anything.

don't just wait for the shtf

don't just wait for the shtf to happen. It could happen this year or not for 20 more years. Nobody knows for sure. Move to a state where the ecomomy is booming and be ready to change careers. Don't be afraid to do some physical work if you can make a lot more money like in the north dakota or texas oil fields.

Move to Chile'

in all seriousness.

-low/non-existent property taxes
- private bank laws
- thriving economy
- property rights strong
- stable government and political environment
- not difficult road to residency/passport

it's in my plan....for private reasons i can not act upon it immediately

earthquakes

volcanoes

Weird but...

...someone just told me about North Dakota. Check your options in that state. The oil industry is booming there and the Walmarts are even paying $17 an hour.

Read this comment more than once

OK I know the econmy sucks and people say there are no jobs, and I used to agree with that, after all i got my degree in business admin and looked for a job for 2 years!

Then i found I guess what you call a job loophole. There are in reality TONS OF EXTREMELY GOOD PAYING JOBS THAT YOU CAN START ASAP. OK, dont believe me? Go to craigslist.com, go to the sales jobs section, now start calling these people up. Yes I understand, you dont like sales, the idea of convincing someone to buy a product sucks, however because of that very reason nobody wants to take these jobs!

Let me tell you something, If you motivate yourself to learn how to sell and listen to your boss, you can quite easily make $1000/week. Sales may not fit your personality, it doesnt fit mine, ut thosew jobs are readily available for the taking, in high demand, pay a ton, and you dont need any special credentials. The only catch is you have to be brave and wiling to fight to learn.

If you can do that, youll be moving out of your parents house in no time. Seriously start calling these people up. I guarantee with minimal effort youll have 3 interviews lined up for well paying jobs, and they will hire you even without experience simply because they are desperate. You can start working within only a few days. Dont let the fact that its commission only and not an hourly wage phase you. If your willing to really try this and put your best foot forward, youll make way way way more money doing this then with an hourly wage job.

BOOSTING time - Part III

BOOSTING time - Part III

Parts I and II (below) were about trying to boost up your mood, staying in the generalities of why you are - at least - in the right "camp". Liberty.

I came back for Part III, which will be the last. I have re-read your post again, including trying to read between the lines, thanks to other comments you provided below.

So, here's part three - not gonna be long, that's the best advice I can think of - you'll judge for yourself - I'm nothing of authority for you - no one is, you'll have to remember that, anyway, you own yourself. Always. That includes risk taking and choices.

You live at your parents. You have a job. I also know you're saving a bit and trying to get rid of some loan debts. It's all very good already. That's the basics.

It's just you're still not 100% self-reliant (with own roof), you're single, and don't feel quite like in the mood of moving any time soon.

Am I right?

I'm telling you: that's still fine.

If you weren't kind of low, I would *maybe* recommend trying to meet someone caring as well (for herself, you, values).

But I don't: it's extremely rare it ever works out that way. You could try, but I don't recommend.

You must FEEL strong inside, mentally, emotionally, before getting to meet a woman. At least if you care at minima about a relationship worth of the name.

I am NOT saying it's wrong and forbidden for men to feel weak or low or with too many questions - it happens - just can't be too often. I am just saying: that's the worst possible moment. A great woman (whomever YOUR criteria are) DESERVES a great man - who also happens to feel great.

So, what?

Here is my advice my friend:

LEARN. SKILLS. AS MANY AND/OR AS MUCH OF IT as you can, while you're at your parents. Can be manual, or not at all.

BUT LEARN BY YOURSELF until your brain, time, schedule can't take it anymore.

For what's coming to us, the 3rd thing that'll be most precious RIGHT AFTER the basic prepper stuff (items) and gold/silver is ...

... skills.

In my example, I'm in software engineering, never been into hardware at all to make a living, but my wife who had mechanics all around her all her life (the bro, the father) is teaching me mechanics, and a bit electronics, too.

So, yes:

LEARN. LEARN. LEARN.

DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO LEARN - preferably about things you feel will be in demand when SHTF.

Plus, that'll keep you super busy, at some point you'll not only feel smarter but you'll actually know much more than folks around you, and, who knows ... you may even meet someone during your errands to fish for information.

Your mood/feel good average will rise, too - that is automatic.

Use the WWW before THAT, too, starts vanishing AND/OR find face to face mentors, skilled persons.

'HTH,

Peace.

Yeah I did move out once but

Yeah I did move out once but had to move back in because I can't afford rent. The cost of living is high where I live and I don't make that much.

20 years ago people were

20 years ago people were worried about SHTF. Nothing really happened. I'm not saying you are wrong to worry about it but you are wrong if you don't consider alternative futures.

Do yourself a favor and don't focus on the fear-mongering of people like Alex Jones. There's a good chance that 20 years from now, we'll still be here bitching about the government while living our lives.

If you are 27 and living with mom and dad, you are doing it wrong. There really is nobody to blame but yourself. Prepping for a collapse should be a luxury at your age. A couple guns and ammo are good preps, then move on. Think about it. You could have invested wiser if you weren't so damn scared of what might come and you'd be better off.

Don't feel bad about living at home.

I work with a lot of younger people that must do the same. Back in the depression It was a normal thing for many family members to do the same. It is a depression. Food cards have replaced the food lines there used to be back then, otherwise we would have them. Never give up. Use what knowledge you have to inform others.
What is it that you have a degree in?
Also, to some degree I feel like that sometimes to and I am well beyond your age. It's hard sometimes...I feel your pain. Try to enjoy some of your life with a hobby whenever possible to take your mind off reality while keeping up with what is going on. If you don't have a little fun you will drive yourself crazy!

Compare the rate of growth between gold/silver and your loan.

You might want to make minimum payments on the loan and buy more gold/silver.

If the dollar does collapse, your loan will be easier to pay off with your gold/silver.

Yup. Everything has already proven itself

Yup. Everything has already proven itself to be easier to pay with gold/silver. Including the DJI, over the last ten years.

If/when TSHTF

will you be a survival asset? Making sure the answer is yes is the most important thing you can be doing right now. If you are not in shape, get in shape. Find other local preppers. Make survival connections. Learn how to do things that will be needed when the grid goes down. If you are diligent in your preparations you will impress others with your focus and sincerity and will likely find opportunities open up for you in another field of employment.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

.......

Knowing reality is not easy. Try to teach people what you know, so you get to expand your effect on the world.

Yeah, it's depressing, knowing the big story, but hey - life continues on.

Best of wishes to you.

don't give up on life

make the most of it there is plenty of people worse off then me ot you some are even living outside with no home or bed be thankful that you have a home some food and a bed and heat.

yeah I agree. It shouldn't

yeah I agree. It shouldn't have to be like that for anyone.

Buck up, Ryno!

Youve been around here a long time! Count your blessings that you are "enlightened" to the truth. Be glad you've been in the company of "Paulites" for years who have had their apathy cured! You have something most of the sheeple dont have...the truth, thanks to Ron Paul.

"Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is argument of tyrants. It is the creed of slaves." William Pitt in the House of Commons November 18, 1783
"I have one word for you...predator drones. Oh, you think I'm kidding?" Obombya

You may be suffering from post-election blues..

I mean, this season, many of us got out there and worked, hard, o get Ron paul known and our POTUS. Since he was prevented from getting the nomination, and we were prevented from making the changes we know this country needs, you may be feeling let-down. I'd suggest you get out of the house, and more than just for work, daily. Meet people. Talk with people. Find a coffee-shop and/or a park where others congregate (of all ages.)
Sure, invest in gold or other precious metals, if you can afford to do so. If your parents are allowing you to live at home, see about paying them some rent. It doesn't need to be a lot, but you may feel better if and when you are contributing to the household.

Believe me, you are not alone. My son's going to come back home, too. He may not stay long, but he has had it with his (also in public-service) job and just can't stand it any longer.
Make plans to do something positive. But, first of all, make some (in real-life) friends, and plan to see them, daily.

We had SOME proof, but RNC does not care about Rules n Laws- they just break and then change 'em to suit whomever (not PAUL).

I just read for the second

I just read for the second time whistleblower publication December 2011.Finding True Happiness IN AN INSANE WORLD.A monthly publication of WND.COM Nearly 165 million Europeans-38% of the population suffer from mental illness and neurological disorders ranging from depression to insomnia,to dementia according to the latest major new study.10% of American men and women are taking drugs just to combat depression. This report came out in 2005.U.S. Centers for Disease and Control reported in 2012 that anti-depressant prescription drugs was the number one drug used by age groups from 18 to 44.

Bob Marshall

.

I won't go into my whole story but I will talk about the issue of poverty and companionship. I got heavily involved in not only liberty politics and the republican party but I also started getting involved with a local group of people who help the poor. They do things like provide temp housing, night patrols to keep houseless persons from freezing in the winter, overflow programs for full shelters and other activities that have no government involvement and are based on the philosophy of solidarity to help each other. Through working with this group I have met people who are really at the lowest end of our caste system. The last event they had was a quilt auction in rememberance of people they knew who had died in the streets. The funds were used for the night patrols and fixing the bus used to transport free meals and shelter overflows.

One of the leaders of this group is a wonderful girl who I am now dating. I literally thought I was going to be single forever due to being poor. But this girl is just amazing. She doesn't care about material things. She cares about people, so much so that she works more not getting paid than she does at her regular paid job. I think that just getting out there and helping others really helps yourself as well.

Also, do not let the lack of money be the reason why you do not go out and adventure life. I was at a point where I had no money at all for anything other than basic needs. I would go out and just walk around the town, I would join meet ups, get involved with local groups, check newspapers or the internet for free festivals or events. Make it a point to get out there and try new things. You never know what positive things can happen and you may very well be pleasantly surprised.

60% of crap we worry about never happens.

30% of crap we worry about there is stuff we can do to change it.

the last 10% there is nothing you can do ... so why worry at all.

Next ... depending where you live as a tree guy I have learned that $ grows on tree's. Youtube stump grinding follow someone around on a Saturday ...

Make flyers that say I will be doing stump grinding in your area on [6 weeks out] and I will do the stump in your yard for $150 or such ... then rent a machine on Saturday grind from sunrise to sunset next day do the clean ups and you should drop 1k plus in your pocket.

As long as there are rich people and the collapse has not happened there is $ that can be made.

Don't give up. I taught myself how to do tree's and such.

you can do it.

Point. A quote VERY often

Point.

A quote VERY often true, I'd say.

Q:

what fraction of the American people (and others) worries about the actual nature of the "money" they have on their accounts?

...

Do it?

Yes, you can do it, until some jack a$$ decides that you need a license, to do it!

If Nothing Else

there are lots of self sufficiency communities forming all over the country that want young people to come and join and learn how to live off the land. They are teaching survival skills, how to grow organically and how to exist without all the crap that the public schools and society teach you that you must have and do to be "successful". If I were your age again I would be hotfooting it to one of those places. There are several in Texas, about 4 forming in Arkansas and others all over the place. Check them out.

skippy

What is your degree in?

What is your degree in?

...

You are single, have no kids

You are single, have no kids and really no obligations and you make minimum wage. Do research on Canadian oil jobs or North Dakota oil jobs...people with no skills and no degree can go up there and make $100,000. It's not easy work to what I've read, but it's a lot more than what you can make somewhere else.

Canadian Oil Jobs

I can second that, I live in Fort McMurray, Alberta - the heart of the Canadian oil fields. The norm in this city is young guys from all around the world, most with very little education, making lots of money. There are jobs everywhere, it is like no other economy in the country (Canada or US I imagine). If you want to make some money quickly, Fort McMoney is your best option.

Check out www.indeed.ca to look for job postings. It's cold here (-43 Celsius last night with wind chill!) but the opportunity is unparalleled.

Born in America, raised in Canada, Voting Ron Paul.

You should also note that

You should also note that personal risk and hardship are part of that choice as well. Greater risk = greater reward.

Make a list of all your blessings.

Life is hard. Very hard, but you have all of your arms and legs, fingers and toes. You have your eyesight and hearing. You can taste orange juice and green beans and ham. You can run and jump. You know to have a job and show up faithfully every shift. You can read and write. You can check books out of your library. You are not in jail. You have family. You have a comfortable place to live. You have a bed and a pillow. You have clothes to wear. You have electricity and running water and hot water on demand. You have access to the internet. You have food to eat. You can enjoy the beauty that is all round you. You can shine in your own little corner of the world.

Is there anything you can do to earn money on the side? Can you tutor in any subject? Can you mow lawns? Can you learn how do valuable new things that will help you down the road? Can you come alongside of someone who can teach you how to do what he does?

Try to resist looking sideways at what a lot of other people have or appear to have, and concentrate on taking your very own accomplishments one step, one moment and day at a time. At the end of each day, think of what you have accomplished and how you are a tiny bit better off than you were the day before. Try to pack in as much as possible into each day so that you can have a larger measure of satisfaction than otherwise, as you lay you head on your pillow at night. See to it that you will be wiser, more knowledgeable, richer, and have better relationships with those who are important to you a year from now than what you have today.

Always remember that many people who seem to have it all are miserable down inside, and don't see any way out of their situations.
