Perry looking highly vulnerable

Texas voters- even Republicans- have had enough of Rick Perry.

PPP's newest poll finds that only 31% of voters think Perry should seek reelection next year, compared to 62% who think it's time for him to step aside. He's among the most unpopular Governors in the country, with only 41% of voters approving of him to 54% who disapprove.

Perry could face great peril in a primary challenge next year. Only 41% of GOP primary voters want him to be their candidate again, compared to 47% who think it's time for someone else. And in a head to head match up with Attorney General Greg Abbott, Perry leads by only a 41/38 margin. What makes those numbers particularly worrisome for Perry is that Abbott only has 59% name recognition at this point with primary voters. Among voters who are familiar with Abbott- whether they like him or not- he leads Perry 55/33. That suggests the potential for things to get worse for Perry if Abbott does indeed go forward with a bid.

It would be awesome to see Dr.Paul get the job

but sadly, I think he's done in an "official" capacity. It sucks too because he'd have the chance to show people what a real state would look like.

Maybe we should send him a nudge? :)

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

Perry already stated

Perry already stated somewhere he isn't running again.
Kay Bailey Hutchison hinted at a governors run this year as well.
Don't vote for Abbot, he's going to use his 'wheelchair status' for sympathy votes. He's good friends with Dewhurst, Perry, and Strauss.

What happened to Debra

What happened to Debra Medina? She should run again...

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

Greg Abbott is worse than Rick Perry.

I think we need Debra Medina to step up and run again.

Robert Paul would make a great Texas Governor too.

.

Ron Paul has name recognition.

He could easily beat Perry.

It's time! Governor Debra

It's time!

Debra Medina

For Governor of Texas. She had my support the first time' and she would have it again.

Any chance Deb Medina will get into the primary?

I think she would be a great Governor.

Hope so

I think it would be great if Debra ran again. One of her interesting stances was abolishing property taxes. Think about how drastically we would have to redefine the role of government if more economic freedom was given to the people and not the local government. Total game changer.

"It’s not pessimistic, brother, because this is the blues. We are blues people. The blues aren’t pessimistic. We’re prisoners of hope but we tell the truth and the truth is dark. That’s different."

Total game changer is right!

The property tax is the most regressive of all taxes. It's a tax on ownership, most all taxes I can think of are based on earnings or sales. If you earn X dollars, you are taxed a portion of that amount, you are not taxed based on the fact you own it. With property tax you have to pay simply because of ownership, irregardless if there is any income or earnings. It's pure socialism, the theft of wealth from the individual, empowered by the force of the state.
Debra Medina is a true champion of liberty and individual property rights.
